I needed new bras and saw the 3 for 99.00 dollar sign today and knew this was going happen. Naj measured me, as I've lost weight and needed a new size. I would like to know why when purchasing a sale item, 99 cents is added to the price even though the price on the tag doesn't include 99 cents. Happened twice with me and the only explanation given from the cashier is they don't know and they just go by what the register rings up. The store is not reflecting accurate pricing. read more

I can't say enough about Elizabeth at Soma--she completely changed my perspective on bra shopping. I've never been the type to wear bras because of my size, and I honestly walked in expecting to leave empty-handed. But the moment Elizabeth greeted me, she immediately told me they had my size--as if it was no big deal--and I instantly felt a sense of relief. Elizabeth took her time with me, letting me try on every style and size. She was patient, kind, and never once made me feel rushed or judged. I've had experiences at other stores where staff try to sell you the "closest size" and you leave feeling frustrated and embarrassed. Elizabeth was the exact opposite--she genuinely cared about helping me find what fit me properly, and she made the process feel safe and even joyful. I spent about 30 minutes in the store, and every second was filled with her encouragement and expertise. I honestly almost cried talking to my friend afterwards because I had never felt this kind of care and respect in a store before. The small things--like having my size available and treating me like every other customer--felt so huge and heartwarming. I went in today and as soon I walked in I received a glare from the cashier with no greeting/acknowledgement but I just ignored it and started looking around the store. When I found the bra type/size I started looking at the different options of color and that's when the cashier quickly walks over to me and says what size am I looking for in an aggressive tone and I say that I'm in my size section that I'm just looking at the colors. And she quickly asks what type of colors do I want and I say I'm just looking but probably colors that are more neutral and that's when she point to the three neutral color bras and says that's it and starts rushing me to hurry and I let her know that I need some time to think and I still want to look at the other colors as well and she just left. She was very rude and pressuring for no reason. I felt very disrespected by her because she was very rude from the moment I stepped in and then quickly rushes over once I'm viewing the bras and speaks to me in an aggressive tone. The other employee at the store checked me out and finished helping me and she was very nice but the other employee was very rude. Especially when other guests started entering and her tone of voice fully changed as she did greet them and had a friendly customer service voice with the other shoppers. This employee who had dark hair treated me so differently/ rudely from the other shoppers, it left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I hope this employee gets spoken to because this was one of the most unpleasant shopping experience I've had and I love soma products but this was inexcusable. I'm only rating this a 2 because the other employee was nice and treated me normal. read more

I made my first purchase at this store on Saturday and was so impressed with the service provided by Abeer. I have been to Victoria Secret and Nordstrom for bra fittings and nothing even compared to the quality of assistance I received. Abeer was knowledgeable and very helpful, giving me tips on the fit of every bra I tried on. I had to exchange my purchase for a different size and she made it so easy and told me if these sizes didn't work than I could come back for more help. The best shopping experience I've received in a long time. Not only was I greeted as soon as I walked in by the ladies working, within seconds Naj is taking my measurements since I told her I had ordered the wrong bra size online. While trying on a different size in the dressing room I was lucky enough to have Adriana an employee that was not even scheduled to work give me really good advice she just happened to be there and very knowledgeable. Do not shop here. Their return/exchange policy is not flexible or customer service based. Received an expensive set for my birthday that didn't fit. Went to exchange but because the original purchase date was a couple weeks past their limited 60 day return time, they refused to help me at all. No option forward other than "we can't help you" and they just kept telling me to read their policy as if that was helping me at all. They were snooty and self righteousness not customer focused. They didn't care at all that i as a customer had items purchased from them that I could not use. So many of their competitors have better return policies bc they care about their customers. This store does not care about its customers at all. And their staff is arrogant and condescending. read more

Very dissatisfied. Long time Soma purchaser. I purchased 3 sets of pajamas that were not in the store, so I took the salesperson's recommendation. They arrived. I tried to love the first pair and wore them overnight. The waist is 3 inches smaller than all my others that I purchased from them. 2nd pair was a different style. Wore them for 2 hours the next night. Same thing. Not to mention the length of the pants was laughably short and the sleeves were super short. I'm 5.5. I tried to return them but told them I'd worn them for several hours to determine comfort. NO RETURNS. I called them, same thing. The quality is inferior. The sizing is inconsistent. A medium is really an XS. The return policies are terrible. I'll go back to Nordstrom for my purchases. I'm done with Soma for good. Don't waste your money. This company has cheaped out on quality, fit and customer service. Definitely do not buy a gift from them as their return policy is terrible. You won't know how a pajama feels until you lounge in it for a few hours. read more

This location is never open. Been here twice and closed twice, then Chicos next door which is the same company has multiple people working. Need to do a return, so now have to go to south coast which always has multiple people or Los Al than risk driving here again to them hopefully being open. I rarely enter a Soma when there are no other customers, because the employees have a bad habit of hovering over you while you browse. But since there was a 30% off sale I decided to check it out anyway. Sure enough, I was asked several times if I was "doing ok" or "needed anything," to which I answered I was fine. I did decide to try on some items, and as soon as my hands were holding something I was offered a room. I said ok and soon went in to try it on. I think I was checked on a few times. Ok, I know they're making their presence known to cut down on theft and also to see if you need sizes, and that's ok. But I do NOT need someone standing right next to me watching me look for bras! Especially when the salesperson smells like cigarettes! As I said, I do like Soma, but I think the employees need better training on how to be available but not overbearing; that being said, I have been completely ignored when the salesperson was invested 100% in another customer. Soma..... Horrible customer service... thought I would let my friends and family.... mostly corporate policy - but they keep changing the bra I actually liked... I got a really bad batch of bras. I ordered 5 of the vanishing back bras a few months ago - although I had ordered the wrong size, I went to the Mission Viejo mall and they exchanged what they could and sent a couple in the mail. Well I have had nothing but trouble with these bras. The straps are too short - even extended all the way. They ride up and are not comfortable at all. I went into the Mission Viejo store again to see if I could swap them out for something else - and they told me it was past 60 days so they couldn't do anything. These bras are very expensive ($56.00) and I am very unhappy with Soma and their lack of customer service. I am unsubscribing from the emails and I will no long do business with Soma again... and I posted on facebook - my bad experience - what a bad company Soma is. Today I went to the mall with my mother with the goal of going to Nordstrom's and Macy's to find a bra. I am very large chested and cannot buy bras at "regular" clothing stores because they do not carry my size. I was hoping shopping at a department store would be different but was having no luck. My mom suggested Soma and since I had never been to Soma I was hesitant. We went in and were greeted by Sally, she was running around helping 2 other ladies as well but was still accommodating. She gave me a fitting and brought me 4 different bras to try. She knew what she was talking about and was so helpful. I went into this place with high hopes only to be highly disappointed. They were friendly but have no idea what they are doing as I was sized totally wrong. Plus, a negative comment was made about my breast as to the reason why they could not fit me properly. Never, ever make a customer feel uncomfortable! I told Mary what I was looking for and she kept insisting on an underwire when I said I absolutely did not want an underwire. She kept bringing them to me anyway. Unless you are a "standard" size, this place is not for you. Their larger cups start at 34 which simply does not work for many large breasted women. Come on, you can still be normal weight and require a larger cup size. Skip this place and safe yourself some time if you need a "special" size. read more

The sales associate that helped me was named Deborah and she did an amazing job helping me find a new bra. I typically shop at Victoria's Secret and am never completely satisfied with my purchases. After several recommendations to shop at soma I finally came into the store and plan to shop for all my underwear there from here on out. Deborah sized me then pulled 3 different bra options to let me try on before I made my decision. Not only did they have the bra I loved in my size but they had it in all the colors I wanted. Since there was a BOGO 50% off with 25% off on top of it I chose 2 bras then 6 pairs of underwear to match! Deborah made me feel so welcomed and was patient with me as she helped me pick out colors and styles that suit me. I've been buying my bras at the various Soma stores for several years now. I usually go to the Mission Viejo store because it's closer and have never been hovered over. They do usually wait outside the dressing room so that I don't have to get dressed again to go out and get another size or style. I don't think it's that unusual for boutique type stores. In fact it used to be quite common to have a sales person help one customer throughout the process. I picked a bra on my own one time and had to take it back because it was the wrong size! Soma has been a favorite of mine for years because of their excellent quality and prices, but their customer service is over the top; on the phone, online, and in the store. My size has changed dramatically over the past year, and I needed new garments that fit. A few days ago, I had hastily purchased one of the first garments I'd tried on without allowing the sales gal to fit me. After a few hours, I had regretted not taking the time to shop properly. So yesterday, I returned to the store with my ill-fitting purchases and met Mary. Mary not only was happy to accept my returns, she fitted me properly and worked between two sizes (Sister Sizes) and several different designs that she thought might work, and even some that were long shots "but you never know"! Mary was honest about my fittings telling me which ones were flattering and which ones needed to go a land far far away. And although the garment she helped me choose is not a sexy design on its own, I feel a ton more attractive and confident because the fit is so perfect and comfortable, and the shape over my clothes is something I haven't seen in well over a year. I went in because my friend had referred me and said they have really good bras and panties. I was hesitant because I wasn't sure on how much the items would be. I walked in and Cindy greeted me right away and said that this was the place to be. She immediately took me into the dressing room and my daughter was also there. She is six years old and Cindy didn't mind at all. She even offered my daughter water. Cindy measured me and found out the size that I need for a bra. She gave me a lot of options to try on and each time I tried on a new bra she would check the fat on each item. I have never felt so special before. I also gave her a budget that I needed to not spend more than $70. She was accommodating and I was able to get one really good brought into pairs of super comfortable underwear for under $70. If anyone is looking for a great place to get great quality items and great customer service this is the place for you. read more
