I have been eating Someburger's hamburgers since 1976 when I moved to the Heights. Most of the time when I wanted fast filling, good tasting food, I could count on them. Talk about a hole in the wall. An awkward, tiny parking lot, and just a window to order at. The menu is tiny as well, cheese burger, hot dogs, fish sandwich. That is about it. After you order from the window, just wait around till they call with your order. Cash only. I had a double cheese burger, then meandered on down to Little Woodrow's to eat. It is what it is. Likely Costco burgers/chicken patties and frozen fries/poppers. Don't expect customer service because they treat you like they are doing you a favor and don't ask for any extra condiments. :) The only reason I go here is for the malts...because when they make them and don't forget the malt they are like homestyle, great. However you can wait a long time for your food and 99% of the time I have gone there someone that was after me in line gets their food first. They really need to work on their customer service, but don't think they really care what people think. read more

Disappointing. I think you can get a better burger and fries at McDonalds. There's more bun than burger and the onion rings could have come from the frozen section at Costco. There are much better local burger places around town. read more

I'm wasn't looking for anything fancy here. I wanted a good, greasy, salty burger with fries. What I got was dry and pitiful, the size of a Whataburger Jr. but with dry crusty bread and equally dry and flavorless meat. Maybe an off day? I don't care; it's one of those places that I feel I should apologize for bothering them by ordering my food, but without the justification of actually having and serving good food. read more

This place hasn't changed in 25 years. The best part of this place is their fries, they're delicious. The burgers remind me a lot of whataburger. They're not anything very unique, but they are definitely a good tasting burger. This place isn't a place you go to sit down and eat at. You either take it home or eat in the car. I'd say if I go here it isn't so much because the food blows my mind, but it's more or less to remind myself of a place I used to go to as a kid. read more

My mom has been wanting to come back to this place because she use to come here all the time when she was younger and she said this place just has a taste in their food that is just delicious. So we decided to come here and it's a little hole in the wall but it's always those little places that have the best food so I don't judge. Me and my mom got a burger, fries and a malt. The fries were so good and delicious but the burgers reminded me of whataburger and my mom said it wasn't the taste she remembered. She also mentioned that back then the Malts were sooo good but when we drank ours, I was disappointed to have mine taste like milk with a hint of strawberry and the texture wasn't a malt, to me it was more of a milkshake but it wasn't all that good. We wouldn't drive all the way from Jersey Village to here to eat here again that's for sure but if we so happen to be in the area then maybe we will give this place another try. read more

Someburger is our place for comfort foods. Their onion rings are some of the best ever. Their burgers are good but not GREAT. I get their chili cheese fries everytime, because I just like them. They are made with american cheese so I know that puts many people off. Their shakes are good, but the last few times I have gotten a malt it tasted more like a shake. Its a fun place to go and grab some real burgers and fries, sit at a picnic table, and just enjoy the time outside. They only take cash though, so be prepared! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for about 10 years now. Had the two cheeseburger baskets (single patty burger, fries, drink), and the total came to $13. Waaaaaaay overpriced!! On top of that the burger was about 1/8" thick and a complete disappointment. I can get a $7.50 burger and fries with some serious meat to it elsewhere. read more

This is a classic Houston burger shack. They make good old fashioned burgers. The double meat with cheese basket and a shake is inexpensive, well prepared, and filling. I usually pass on the fries and get a hot dog! It is pretty plain and I like it that way. The chocolate shakes are like a vanilla shake with Hersheys, but I like those, too. Up side is price. Downside is it is walk up - no inside at all. Yep, I don't care about that either and go only if it isn't raining. Yummy good burger. read more

Literally worst burger I have ever had. I got the basic someburger. Meat was super thin and DRY! Bun is basic store-bought white bread bun and it was way too thick compared to what is between the buns. It was so bad I wouldn't even pay a dollar for it. Was always curious because it is such a cute burger stand. Now I am baffled they are able to stay in business. read more

Hmmm. I am surprised this place has made it past my review fury. I have been coming here for almost 5 years. This place is OK. I like it a lot more for what it is than the actual burgers. Walk up, order, go home, pig out. Pretty simple. I am nostalgic for places like this. The only similar place I have been to in Houston, Sparkle, and this place is better. A really basic cheeseburger. Good but not great. The ingredients were fresh, the bun was buttery and toasted and the prices were cheap. I do like the novelty of a walkup hamburger stand and because of that, Someburger gets bonus points for it. We will probably return because it's close to our house and it's a cheap cheeseburger fix but it's not worth making a drive out to. French fries were thick cuts and were refried (you can tell by the way the fries are orange-y instead of yellow). The service was quick and prompt but not especially friendly. If there was a Whataburger close by, I'd consider it interchangeable. read more

I just moved to the heights and my hubby knew about this place because apparently there is one in Baytown as well. I have to say, the burgers are FANTASTIC! I'm a huge fan of "hole-in-the-wall" joints and this fits the bill. I learned to call in my order so I don't have to stand outside and wait. Especially when its cold. I think they have one picnic table so we always bring our order home. I do like the lady working the front counter. She is ALWAYS there and friendly in a hurried way. I never try anything new because the burgers are so good that I always want one when we order from there. I usually get my 2 year old a hot dog or grilled cheese. Both are very delicious. We will definitely frequent this place for years to come. FYI: They only accept CASH. read more

One of the dwindling "you're gonna miss me when I'm gone" holdouts in the Heights. Serves those griddled and pressed drive-in style burgers that are hard to find anymore. My last two visits have been mediocre. The cheeseburgers are slightly overcooked and just not as good as the first one.

They have old fashion burgers and baskets and their shakes are to die for, the only exception is that they only accept cash. The wait is about 20 minutes, unless you call ahead of time. read more

Frozen bland unoriginal burgers. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and head to Five Guys, Hubcap Grill or Christians Tailgate.

This is basically just an overpriced Whataburger. Actually, I'd say Whataburger is better. It was good though. The way they dress the burger reminds me of Whataburger, which I really like. I'd go here way more often if it wasn't overpriced. For this price, I don't think I'll be back. I'll get my burger fix elsewhere read more

Based on the past reviews I decided to give this place a try today and also I work very close to it and needed to bring lunch back to the office today. I thought this would be perfect becasue there are no tables to eat at there except a coupld little picnic tables outside and todays weather was not great. So I tried it.... meh! is all I can muster up about this place. I called in the order and I got there right away. I tried the onion rings in the car right away because they smelled great ! They were really good ! The burger on the other hand was not. It was cold and not even luke warm when I got back to work and I am with in 5 minutes drive to this place!! The pattie was a little dried out and hard around the edges and the cheese was already cold so much that I couldnt even really taste it. The burger was big so that was a plus, but what does the size matter when it dont really taste that great and its cold and dried out? .... I will come back here for the onion rings and maybe I will try something besides a burger, they have chili dogs too. Maybe that will be what I try next. Otherwise if they dont totally impress me next time then I wont be back a third time. :( read more

Very unassuming from the outside; actually it is a kinda ramshackle litle building on the scarey-as-in-is-it-safe-to-eat-this-food side. In this town where you can have several options for burgers, from national (McDonalds) to regional (Wattaburger) chains, to gourmet chains(Fuddruckers) to local gourmet (Southwells), Someburger is somewhere in between. Friendly staff. Decent, but not extraordinary burgers. Peering into the shack's interior through the order window, lighting is very limited, so it is hard to tell how clean the kitchen looks. But I haven't been stricken with food poisoning from eating here, at least not yet. Yet. Take out only, unless you consider the picnic tables on the property as a dining option. read more

This is by far the best greasy spoon burger in Houston. Perfect setting for a Heights area eatery. They have now added a covered eating area in the back with plenty of tables. I drive from Hobby area for this burger and last time there another lady told me she drives from Jersey Village. I don't think anything else needs to be said. read more

The food is pretty good, but the service is by far the worst thing ever!! The WOMAN that always answers the phone is the rudest person I think I have had the displeasure of dealing with. Clearly she does not like her job! I do not know if she is the owner or what, but she needs to NOT be in customer service!! She is very short, cuts you off when you are trying to order and just flat rude. Once you get there to get your food her disposition is no better. You may even get to witness her talking to her employees like they are dirt beneath her shoes.
