We went there 5 minutes before they were closing. Staff was still very friendly. Prices were decent. I had the 1/2 alfalfa, veggie and cheese sandwich. Plenty of food and made to order. Good. The blondie was also good. They had lots of homemade salads (chicken, past, etc) and they all great. The bread was fresh and made in house. Great find (but extremely hard to find). My husband and I walked here from town to grab some sandwiches before catching the ferry back to the mainland. They have kiosks for you to order at, which is great since it has photos and gives you some time to decide on your order. We both ordered whole sandwiches and they were huge! Think, nice picnic lunch. Grab your sandwich and go sit at a picnic table and look at all the indigenous birds landing around you while you are eating. Nice, huh? And, they make their own bread!!! The sweets are fresh and very artisanal. We went for gold and ordered the lobster salad sandwich. It was good, not the traditional New England lobster roll at all. But it was tasty. The picnic tables out back were a pleasant setting for our lunch and it was very serene and quiet. Something Natural is located in a residential area and you have to watch closely when looking for it the first time. You have to turn into what you think is someone's driveway, but then it all opens up and you will see the parking area. Lovely place on Cliff St located down a long driveway. It's almost like you're entering the perfect little picnic spot to sit out with your family when you venture to Something Natural. They have a fairly decent variety of sandwich options. Select your bread and any additional add ons. Standard toppings are lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard. Unless it already states it comes with cheese, cheese is $1 extra (same with bacon and a few other add ons). Pickles, red onions, and those veggies are 0.30¢ extra. Half a sandwich runs anywhere from $5.50-$6 with a whole setting at $9.50-$10. Extras can really add up if you're not careful. The half a sandwich is huge and that's what I've stuck with so far, but the whole seems worth the price and can be saved for later or shared. No indoor seating so after you order (cash only here) you can head outside and sit on one of the picnic benches to enjoy your sandwich. The pictures do not do these sandwiches justice. Extremely simple yet SO good. The ingredients are fresh and bread is made by them. The curry chicken was amazing. Also loved the turkey and the BLT. TIP: the pictures when you are ordering sometimes show certain ingredients (lettuce, tomato) but you still have to click to ADD each of these if you want it (and many are free such as lettuce and tomato). The first time I learned this the hard way and got a sandwich with just turkey on bread and that's it. Another tip is that you can order online for pick up. read more

I had first heard of this place in Elin Hildebrand's books. I had the egg sandwich, my husband had the smoked turkey. We both got whole sandwiches and couldn't finish. Mine was piled high with carrots, cucumbers, tomato, lettuce, onion, and pickle on their whole wheat bread. I have a very healthy appetite and could only finish half. His was on French bread with lettuce tomato and mayo. He also couldn't finish the whole. We ate at their picnic tables overlooking Coffin Park. On a slightly overcast spring day it was perfect. The price for the whole looks like a decent amount, but given that it's really enough for two adults, it's kind of a steal. I highly recommend coming here for a nice low key lunch. read more

Ordered two sandwiches and two cookies, but had to go back to the register from the parking lot because they forgot the cookies I had ordered. Then I had to go back from the house because they forgot the ham on the ham sandwich. It was very busy with a bunch of young adults trying to do the right thing. I would go back, but I will certainly double check the contents of the bag and the contents between the bread. After ordering a lobster salad and waiting 20 minutes, they call my name and they tell me they are out of lobster salad. I order a tuna salad and wait another 15 minutes. Would recommend this place to anyone! Prime location between Steps Beach and downtown Nantucket (we went for lunch on the way back from the beach). We shared a lobster roll, which was not only ENORMOUS but also delicious and excellent quality - super fresh, with massive chunks of lobster. Delish! Not the easiest to see from the road - you need to really be looking for it, which makes me think it's more of a local joint, rather than geared toward tourists. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No. If you are expecting some sort of really interesting, unique and flavorful sandwiches there is no need to stop here. Perhaps the other reviewers have not experienced the artistry that can be created with meat, bread, cheese and so forth. This place is absolutely nothing special. You will get fresh bread and fresh meat and mustard (not even a good mustard) if you like, but it isn't like they have some special sauce or creative combo of goods. I would not go out of my way for what they sell - you can get the same thing in any Jewish deli anywhere. The Parish Cafe in Boston has some AMAZING sandwiches. They have put things together you wouldn't expect. Evening Star Cafe in Alexandria, VA made a roast beef, grilled onion, blue cheese and arugula beast of a sandwich that was hot - literally, hot.. THAT is what I was expecting from all the reviews. As my companion noted maybe folks who laude this place only have a Subway where they live. Like Helen C (she is staring at me to the right of this page). Of course it is better than Quizno's or Subway! That is like comparing frozen pizza to fresh or a MacDonald's burger with a REAL burger. They are not the same animal! And don't get me started on the cookies. Just big and dry and boring. I have a theory that many people see a big cookie and think that automatically makes it a good cookie. Sort of like a child with a birthday cake loaded with frosting flowers - just cause it is on frosting steroids doesn't make it a good tasting cake. I go through loaves and loaves of it whenever I stay on island. - Cool, low key vibe - Fun place to bike to and easy access into town - Nice place to sit and eat outside if you are so inclined - The cookies are friggin' delicious - Great sandwiches that are customizable in limitless ways - Most importantly, the only place I know of where one can acquire Matt Fee tea, the most delicious concoction ever put into a bottle. Seriously, I stock up on it, buying at least two cases, and use it sparingly throughout the year until I can restock the following summer. I got two sammies because I couldn't decide which one I wanted. One was out of pure curiosity: cream cheese and olive on port. bread. They were green olives in fresh cream cheese. I know it sounds weird...but probably one of the best working, weird combos I've ever had. The best way to describe it is like a mega sized tea sandwich...and I could eat tea sandwiches all day. Although a bit out of the way, this is a great place to grab sandwiches on the island. Sandwiches are quite big, a half size one is probably fine for a medium appetite. You have a variety of fillings, including a few vegetarian options, to choose from as well as a bunch of freshly made bread choices. I like the curried chicken salad, which is a bit bright but tasty. The cookies are good too, but you might want to avoid the bags of little oatmeal raisin cookies if you have weak teeth. They are good with tea though. Walkin orders can be a bit crazy around lunch time, but the kids working there seem to be able to handle it well enough. They get a lot of traffic but still manage to get you your order in a short amount of time. These are fresh, simple sandwiches and that is all they are supposed to be. And, It's good to know that you are eating homemade and healthy food unlike any fast food chain food (which by the way, Nantucket has no fast food chains around) The scenery outside is great and comfy as well. After a nice long bike ride, this is the place to go for a good lunch/ snack break either to take on the go or to sit around the picnic tables with nice shade and good company. Grabbed a bike with the lady friend and went out for a fantastic morning ride on the way back we hit up Something Natural. It was 1pm, sunny and August so the place was packed.
