This was my first time visiting the new location for Lawson Bakery in Morgan Hill, and I have to…read moresay they absolutely did not disappoint. We drove over 20 miles just to pick up a birthday cake for my son because we have been longtime customers ever since their older location on the other side of Morgan Hill. Their cakes have always been amazing, full of flavor, fresh, moist, and very reasonably priced for the quality you get. While we were there, I decided to try their coffee and I believe the espresso was Tilly brand, and wow it was excellent. I also had one of their cinnamon rolls and it was honestly to die for. Soft, fresh, full of flavor, and one of the best pastries I've had in a long time. What really made the experience even better was the staff. Everyone was super nice, polite, welcoming, and very professional. You can tell they truly care about their customers. Their boss should definitely give them a raise because great customer service like that is hard to find nowadays. If you are ever in the Morgan Hill area and looking for amazing pastries, great coffee, or a delicious birthday cake, look no further. Highly recommend Lawson Bakery! I would have took pictures, but my battery was dead. But next time for sure , I will

Lawson's Bakery in Morgan Hill was definitely busy, which is expected for Mother's Day weekend. It…read morewas super loud inside and they told us the wait would be about 20 minutes, but we ended up waiting well over that. Besides the longer wait time, the experience was still good overall. The ladies working there were very nice and helpful. I ordered 8 breakfast burritos for my family and we sat outside on the patio. When we first sat down, the table was dirty and I accidentally got water on myself, but one of the girls quickly came outside and cleaned the table for us right away, which I appreciated. She even had the chef come sweep the area, so they definitely tried to make things right and were attentive to customer service. The patio area was actually really nice with plenty of seating and a family-friendly atmosphere. They even had games outside for kids like Connect 4 and Legos, which was a nice touch for families waiting or eating outside. The inside was packed, but the outdoor seating made it more enjoyable. We ordered the Breakfast Burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, country potatoes, scallions, and cheddar cheese in a whole wheat tortilla. The food was delicious and the burritos were packed with ingredients and very filling. Overall, despite the long wait and noise level, I'd still come back because the staff was kind and the food was worth it.

It held up very well. I got to share this sandwich made with freshly baked baguette and Mary's Organic Chicken, parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, and mixed greens. Hearty and delicious! I had to take home a Shroom Croissant which was this flaky croissant filled with savory mushroom duxelles and parmesan cheese. I love the earthy flavor of the mushrooms which complements the sweetness of the croissant dough. I could not resist taking home Sunshine Tomatoes which was this delighful buttery croissant filled with creamy goat cheese and sweet roasted tomatoes. This was bursting with summer sweetness. Both of these are shareable and just having small slices of each was just perfect with afternoon tea. The Almond Croissant and the Pain au Chocolat were delicious for breakfast the next day. I warmed both up to share. I enjoyed the flaky golden Almond Croissant filled with almond cream and topped with sliced almonds. The Pain au Chocolat was just perfect. They say they use butter imported from France and Valrhona Chocolate. I believe them as I get transported back to delectable France. C'est de la bombe!

They ran out of black teas the day so I went with just water. I had the almond croissant. The portion of almond paste to croissant was good. The croissant was delicious- nice and perfectly flaky. The staff there are friendly and helpful. Also very patient as we took our time deciding what we want. Everything looked really yummy. Also had the Kouign Amman-it was buttery and delicious. Was a nice and relaxing dining experience. There was no pressure to vacate. There's a water station as well. On the table is a QR code where you can order some hot sandwiches and quiches. Parking is a bit of a challenge but there are metered parking lots nearby.

The prix-fixe menu was a great deal and included a muffin, appetizer, entrée, and dessert. We also had a Bloody Mary and some Brut Rosé, and both were good. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The restaurant was packed for Father's Day, with lots of families celebrating, which made for a fun atmosphere. We also loved the bar area, and after brunch we stopped by the bakery next door to pick up a few treats to take home. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the meal felt a little rushed. We were in and out in about an hour, including drinks and dessert. Our appetizer arrived almost immediately after the muffins were dropped off, before we'd really had a chance to enjoy them. Throughout the meal, empty plates tended to sit on the table longer than expected, and courses came out very quickly one after another. That said, everyone was friendly, and the manager was especially kind and attentive. I'm sure they were doing their best to keep things moving. We'd definitely come back, but probably on a less busy day so we can relax a bit more, enjoy the patio, and take our time. Great food, great drinks, and a lovely atmosphere--just a little too fast-paced for what we were hoping would be a leisurely experience.

The baker is…read moredefinitely dedicated to their craft and even avoids placing the finishing touches on some of their items until the customer orders it (This happened with our matcha Kouign-amann). We purchased the black sesame crossiant, which had a nice flaky texture and nuttiness. It also included chocolate as part of the inner layer of the crossiant, so it was partially a black sesame and chocolate crossiant mashup. The outside was topped with a black sesame and cream cheese-like frosting -- I could have had a little less of the cream cheese flavor (generally not a fan of cream cheese), but did enjoy it. If you want to enjoy any of the crossiants at this pop-up, get there early. We arrived only 15 min after their opening and was online for 1/2 hour and almost missed the black sesame and also missed a few of the other pastries already. It seemed like this popup had frequent visitors and that they tended to order in bulk, with each customer ordering multiple boxes of pastries even for a small group. We saw about 15 minutes after we left they were already sold out, so even arriving after the 1/2 hour mark may be too late to enjoy any of these pastries. There were a lot of options for fans of sweet pastries, but no savories at this one. I'll watch to see if the menu expands and maybe go again for the black sesame and a few other options in the future.

If you're looking for a deal, they have a lunch special from 11 AM to 4 PM That includes a sandwich, a salad, a small pastry and a drink/coffee for $15. The employees are extremely accommodating and provide amazing service. I am allergic to eggs and lactose intolerant. They can modify almost everything based on dietary restrictions. I also tend to struggle with gluten (Im not celiac) but had no issues with their croissants. They use really fresh ingredients and everything's clearly made day of.
