My husband and I were craving Korean food in Bed-Stuy and stumbled across this place after trying it a few times through Uber Eats. We finally decided to go in person--and I'm so glad we did! Food: 5/5 Honestly, it's rare to find a spot in Bed-Stuy that feels actually affordable--and this place nailed it. I got the LA Kalbi entrée (which came out like a bento box), and my husband ordered the pork belly quesadilla, two protein sides (chicken and bulgogi), and an extra order of three bonchon. With a 20% tip, our total came out to just $75. That kind of deal in New York is nearly unheard of. Is this the best Korean food I've had in NYC? Probably not--you can definitely hit Queens for that--but for the neighborhood and the price, I'm blown away. If I had to pick a favorite item, it's a toss-up between the japchae and the galbi. Both were flavorful and satisfying. Service: 4/5 As others have said, this is not a fast-service spot. We were inside for over an hour, and a good chunk of that was just waiting for our food. We even added two dishes after our main order, and those took about 15 more minutes. But honestly? For the price and the quality, I didn't mind the wait. The guy at the front was kind and genuine, which made the experience feel warm and relaxed. Just don't come here expecting speedy or ultra-attentive service--it's not that kind of place. But if you're okay with a slower pace, it's absolutely worth it. Yes, yes, yes--I'd go back. If you're looking for affordable Korean food in Bed-Stuy, this is the move. It's cozy, it's tasty, and it won't break the bank. What more can you ask for these days?

small menu; cozy vibes well done. i enjoy their matcha & chai lattes, one of the few cafes in the neighborhood with lavender syrup so i'm there often. the gochugaru fries were 'finished before first bite of sandwich' worthy. the padak sandwich was delicious, great layering of flavors in each bite. i'd order again.

Great new Korean spot in the neighborhood! Sonbul is open at Burly coffee shop on Throop near DeKalb from 5-10pm, Wed-Sat. Food, drink, k-pop MVs playing on a projector screen... feels like a bit of K-town in Bed-Stuy. I got some soy garlic wings and they were excellent, the owner said he's continuing to expand the menu and I'm looking forward to trying more!

Son um is a cool little spot founded by an excellent down to earth chef. The food was tasty and not too spicy. Throughly enjoyed the popcorn chicken even though I don't eat much fried foods. The chicken was super tasty as was the japche, kalbi and soup.

HELL YES. Sonbul has fully taken over Burly and now offers a breakfast menu - at least on weekends. The Korean breakfast burrito was absolutely delicious and is going to be my new go to breakfast on the weekends! Delicious scrambled eggs with shredded veggies, tater tots (!!!), and kimchi. Hell yeah. Excited for the addition of breakfast to Sonbul's amazing dinner menu. Highly recommend the Japchae, Kinmari, the Korean Cheesesteak (I don't eat red meat and even I eat this on occasion), and of course the epic Korean fried chicken.

If you're craving authentic and delicious Korean food in Brooklyn- you have to come here! The food is incredible, servings are large, food is very much worth the prices, and the service is great!

The food was delicious, I will definitely return. There was no line to order when I arrived, but we were directed to order at a kiosk since they were short staffed up front. The young man at the counter was very busy but kind and I could see the workers in the kitchen working hard as well. The ambiance was typical for a fast casual restaurant. Some people grabbing takeout orders, delivery app workers doing pickups, and dine in patrons at tables. There were seating options for couples as well as groups. I definitely do recommend and will return next time I'm in the area.

Out of everything we ordered my favorite was definitely the oxtail. It's a bit on the pricey side ($29.99 for about four pieces) but the flavor is great. Their fried chicken was also very tender and tasty. The ribs were okay...Maybe because it was July 4, the meat was a little too chewy for my taste and I wish they were more of the fall-off-the-bone type. The wait was a little long too, but again it was July 4 and all the staff were working hard to serve everyone. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean with blasting AC.

It was a warm day in the city so we opted to sit inside. Because it was my friend's birthday, we were given a little card and they gave us a candle alongside the pancakes! The server was nice and answered all our questions. We of course, got the hazelnut pancakes! We also tried to oat milk mocha, s'mores espresso, breakfast sandwich with avocado, and the cheddar biscuit. The food looked wonderful and tasted even better. As a southern gal, I was skeptical about the biscuits, but they were buttery and savory and fluffy. They were definitely more of a bready biscuit than a flaky one, but delightful nonetheless. The breakfast sandwich had a great flavor and I liked the option to add avocado to keep it vegetarian. I just wish there were more slices of avocado on it. The espresso was good but nothing too special. The star of the brunch would have to undoubtably be the pancakes. The hazelnut flavor was divine and coupled with a fluffy, cake like pancakes!! I definitely would go back just for the pancakes alone. I highly recommend eating here!!

And sadly, this is one. Sustainable packaging is great until it's not. Sub the scrambled eggs were melting into the box when they arrived. And had they arrived a moment later, they would have seeped through the box. Fine. I'll just get them out of the box, onto a real play. Ha. They must have been added to the box while they were fresh off a hot pan. A good amount was welded to the box. Annoying, but fine. And then the brew arrived without sugar or (paid for) oat milk. They hate me. It's ok, I'll just drink it black. And that's where 2 stars get knocked off. Worst tasting coffee ever. Cold brew is supposed to be smooth, with very little acid. This was extremely sour! As if it was made previously and had been sitting around for a couple of days. It took me a minute to realize how bad it was. And suffering as a result. Intense stomach pains and tummy issues. From coffee. Smh. I will probably eat there, in person. But I will never trust their cold brew again. Or delivery.

The waitress was super professional and gave us suggestions from the menu items. She suggested the Peaches Punch (rum and positive vibes) and she did not disappoint. Peaches Punch was sweet and citrus. My fam is southern, migrated from North Carolina to Brooklyn, so I am not a stranger to southern food. My mother was a sou cook in a small water front hotel on the intercostal waterway, so I confess I am a chair side critic of collard greens. I do not like collards simmered too sweet. I also like to add vinegar. So we ordered the fried catfish, cornbread, and collard greens. The catfish arrived seasoned and crispy. I added a dash of Texas Petes hot sauce, they seriously offer a variety of hot sauce. Love it. The collard greens were inviting, aromatic, and tender. The smell of the collards reminded me of Sunday dinner after training. Yes, it tasted old school, I greatly appreciated the southern vibe and the great southern hospitality. The main entrées were affordable and the drinks were worth every penny. This is within walking distance from my home. I will definitely return for collard greens. Please make a date to sit out on the sidewalk and order those collards.

During a recent breakfast visit celebrating both my mother's birthday, I had a disappointing customer service experience. I would first like to recognize the young gentleman who served our table . A mexican young man. , He was professional, attentive, and courteous throughout our visit. The issue arose when I ordered a Peach Bellini that did not taste as expected. It lacked the peach flavor I had enjoyed on previous visits and tasted more like orange juice. I asked if it could be replaced with a ginger ale. My server was handling another table and zi was willing to wait. . But a women of Spanish decent light skin and heavy set approached our table and explained there were policies regarding returning something. . Rather than simply processing the substitution, she repeatedly encouraged me to keep the drink and offered to add more peach flavoring. I explained several times that I simply did not like the beverage and preferred a ginger ale instead.. I also told her I an celebrating a birthday abd do not wish to go back and forth. She tried to explain all drinks are made thd same which is not the same. She has to remember she does not just represent herself but the Peaches establishment. As a former bartender, I understand that drinks can vary, despite efforts at consistency. My concern was not the drink itself but the lengthy discussion. I felt pressured to justify a simple request during what was meant to be a special celebration Our bill exceeded $100, and as a longtime customer, I expected a more customer-focused response. If there is a formal policy regarding drink returns or exchanges, it would be helpful for it to be clearly posted. They eventually substituted it. But I should not have to goI though all that. Overall, my experiences at your restaurant have been very positive, which is why this incident stood out. The food was excellent, and our server was wonderful. I hope this feedback can be used as a coaching opportunity. Customer concerns are often best resolved through listening, empathy, and flexibility. .

So..... we went and totally understand the hype. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the amazing dishes and you can literally feel the love they put on each plate as they serve the guests. I almost don't want to share this review for fear that the line may get longer but this restaurant is now one of the few that I recommend you go out of your way to try and enjoy. Their menu is classically simple but made with an abundance of care and no shortcuts in their cooking. As you are seated you are welcome to place your order in the front of the glass display, they cook everything in house and sometimes they run out of the specials so don't sleep on getting there on time. We ended up getting their lunch specials and picked one main and two sides. I know my girl loves Ox Tails and ended up getting the last plate with some candied yams and Mac and cheese. Don't come here if you're on a diet there is only one way to enjoy this restaurant and it's to just dive in. FYI - you will need a nap after your meal. I wanted to love it so much especially since TikTok critic/MMA fighter Keith Lee visited them in 2023, but my experience was not like his. I want to say that online reviews are almost about accurate. They were out of cold salads and collard greens which was an issue for other customers at times as well. No problem, they were super helpful and offered an alternative but not a good one. I had steamed vegetables that mashed in my mouth like mashed potatoes when I took a bite. I did end up going to another spot for collard greens and potato salad because you can't have soul-food without that. I had the rib dinner with mac n cheese and yams and a tiny piece of complimentary cornbread. The ribs definitely taste amazing but they don't take off the membrane in the back which is slimy and gross. I left that part behind. The yams were sweet and good BUT.....that mac n cheese is NOT soul-food Mac n cheese. Here's the thing I figured out, they use such little cheese but season the noodles very well that you don't truly notice unless you love mac n cheese, which I do, so I noticed it lacked so much cheese but had seasoned noodles. The rib dinner was a 3/5 because ribs were great but sides needed help. I had rice and peas as an additional side and fried wings. The wings were ATROCIOUS! I ate the smallest one and didn't eat the rest. How can you serve such huge feathered wings like that? It was a nightmare. The feathers being on it turned me off. This tells me they don't make their food with care, they move quick to be one and done and I want my food cooked with love and care. They were also frozen wings that were thawed and seasoned, I know the difference. The rice and peas were okay 3/5 as well. Overall the food was not worth the hype. Customer service was beautiful for sure but the food was not it.

The mousse itself is rich, creamy, savory, and packed with umami. I just wish it came with something better on the side. The pita was a little underwhelming and was not warmed all the way through. The crispy potato tart was excellent. The potato was super crispy, and a bite with the salmon, egg, sour cream, and potato together was perfect. The lightly dressed arugula helped cut through the richness and made for a nice palate cleanser. The burger looked pretty simple when it arrived, but it ended up being surprisingly good.
