    GiGi Udon Chicken Satay
    Justin M.

Came here last minute on a Saturday night around 10 PM on a recommendation from my roommate, and it exceeded expectations! Ordering was super seamless with the self-service kiosk, and the service was quick, efficient, and extremely accommodating. The vibe both inside and outside is top-tier. Got the GiGi Udon Chicken Satay--the broth was so rich and flavor-packed, and the chicken was perfectly charred. Absolute 5/5 spot!

We had been waiting for this place to open for a bit! We ordered delivery from here last night and while we'd love to this GiGi's again, we had some thoughts. The Massaman Peanut Curry Udon Noodles with crispy pork was fantastic. Everything about it was good, especially the sauce and pork. However, we were underwhelmed by the size of this. For the price, we expected almost a third more of what came. It wasn't enough for one person's dinner. We also ordered the Wonton Peanut Massaman Sauce because there was a BOGO deal. The ground chicken and shrimp wrapped the thin wonton wrapping was fantastic and the sauce was thick and yummy too. Finally, we had the Chili Crispy Tofu BOGO. This was really good, but could have been crispier and i feel like it needed a side sauce that came with it to help mellow out the spice. We would try GiGi's again for sure and hope to dine-in one as well.

Pok pok with bbq roast pork over noodles: Overly sweet sauce over the noodles. Bbq pork was pretty good. The little fried pork skin was great. Noodles were perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, would not order again. The first bite was interesting and tasty, but after a few bites, the sweetness is overwhelming. Wish it came with some broth to dilute the sweetness. The Gigi curry was also too sweet. The steak add on was flavorful and tasty by itself but overpowered by the sweetness from the curry sauce. Friendly staff and cute small restaurant. There's some seating outdoor as well.

The place is a cute little Thai spot with only a few seats but it is definitely worth a try. We started off with the Chili Lotus Roots which were nice and crunchy and had a seasoning on top that really reminded us of takis. Then for the man dishes we got Pok Pok Combo Pork and the Massaman Peanut Curry which comes with a choice of noodles (we chose egg noodles) and a topping for an extra price (we did chicken satay for $5). Both of these noodles were great! I do have to say that if you are a savory and savory only person however, these are not the dishes for you. Both noodles were savory with a nice sweetness to it with the Pok Pok Combo Pork being just a tad bit sweeter. The noodles were also a nice and bouncy texture. The Thai Tea Latte did not look like the picture online so we were a little disappointed but the flavor was definitely a hit! It had a strong Thai tea flavor and it was not too sweet and paired perfectly with our dishes. The store is set up more like a take out place because you order from your phone regardless of whether you dine in or not but the staff do come over and serve your food to your table. The service was great and everyone was super friendly. I will definitely be trying more of their noodles in the future!

We got braised beef udon soup, massaman peanut curry with udon, satay chicken with peanut sauce, thai tea, and coconut matcha cloud. The udon noodles in both dishes are a bit overcooked. All the dishes came out very quickly but they forgot we ordered drinks till we told them. Seating is pretty separate and the restroom is very very tiny. But the food is overall alright and soup was lacking flavor but it was herby. My wife enjoyed her curry. My friend felt the chicken was ok but not warm enough nor very seasoned. He felt the peanut sauce was very good. The Thai drink was over 60% ice that it was hard for you to poke your straw through but it's very good. The coconut matcha cloud was an interesting mix of flavors.

My friend & I came here after yoga and omg so good ! They are new and still getting their bearings but everyone was so sweet and friendly. Small shop but cute and quaint. I got the massaman curry with tofu and my friend got the green pesto curry (spicy) with steak. Everything was flavorful cooked well and balanced. They offered us green tea before eating which was really nice and in cute mugs. I also got a matcha oat iced latte which I could tell was high quality matcha by the taste and no sugar needed. Nice and smooth. Funny thing is we also got a few things to go while still eating. So I also recommend the curry puffs and the peanut noodles. This will definitely be my new take out spot and where I'll go when I'm in the neighborhood.

the chicken curry was rich and delicious!!! exactly what i would want in terms of flavor, almost like a panang curry but not as thick. the chicken was great as well, juicy and flavorful. got it with rice since we got the pork belly noodle dish, as well - didn't know how it would be but i was happy with our choice! the bowl was swimming in sauce though, but no complaints! i would personally skip on the pork belly if i were to go again. it wasn't crispy, and did not top the chicken. but everything else was good and the tom yum had great flavor.

This just came from heaven! Mango Rice Pudong. Yummmm :-)

Love this place! Never disappoints. Everything is made fresh and super delicious. Such a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Absolutely delicious!! Ordered the mango salad, the Gigi curry with chicken and Udon noodle soup with braised beef. Also got Thai tea latte and macha latte. All great! Very kind and attentive staff!

This little gem tucked in bushwick had the most amazing curry ever. We got the Gigi Curry with fried tofu and wowed us with their flavor. Such comfort food! Staff was amazing and so so welcoming with awesome service and ambiance.

Pesto green curry with gluten free noodles and steamed tofu (gluten free alternative to fried)

The BEST curry I've ever had. My bf and I stopped in today and received the warmest welcome with green tea on the house! I had questions about their gluten free options, and the owner and chef were incredibly helpful. They even made sure the food was not too spicy once it was served. We will DEFINITELY be back and will be recommending this place to everyone we can! Adorable decor, affordable prices, and quick service as well. 10/10 experience.

Barely any flavor. 5/10 The mala pork intestine soup noodle: I got the regular spiciness level and it was actually quite spicy. If you can't tolerate spicy food, try mild or medium first. The pork intestine is bit chewy. Otherwise the flavor is good. 8/10 The seafood tom yum soup noodle: mild tom yum flavor. The soup base is slightly on the sour side. Overall is good. 8/10 Thai style soup noodle: the soup flavor is good. Not too spicy. 9/10 We also tried the brown sugar rice cake: it's just ok. Not crunchy enough. The brown sugar is missing some caramelized flavor. So it is a sweet rice ball. 5/10 I think the temperature inside would be fine if you go during a cool day. When it's a hot day, the restaurant could get very hot even if they turn on both ACs. With just 2 ACs insides, and eating a hot bowl of spicy soup noodle, we were all sweating inside. Though the food is good, I would not return during summertime. It's just too hot to enjoy a good bowl of hot soup noodle.

I asked to sub rice for noodles because one of my kids is a rice pot (can't go without rice) and requested extra sauce, which they kindly provided. The set meals are a fantastic deal; a full size entree, an appetizer and a drink for $19-20. An extra order of noodles is $2.50 and it's really double the amount of noodles that comes in your entree. I also ordered their new dish with has abalone and sea cucumber; this is not part of a set meal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has that umami sweetness that comes from a great soup base and the noodles are delicious as usual. The abalone was tender, the sea cucumber had a bite to it. There was fish maw and wood ear in there as well.

To start off, we had the Cheeseburger Dumplings ($12), which was so unique. We've never had something like this and they executed it really well. The dumplings were filled with meat and fried with a skirt. The cheese part was topped over it like a melty dressing, so a delicious and special dish here. Plus, it had a side salad to balance all the grease here. For the entrees, we had to get the udon and shared the Niku Udon ($25) and Salmon Ikura Udon ($30). It was a nice combo between a hot and cold udon. The Niku was your classic udon bowl filled with plenty of beef and a perfectly soft-boiled egg. The broth was sweet and savory for a warm and comforting meal. On the other hand, the salmon udon was quite unique with matcha udon and fresh salmon. There is a dashi to pour and mix into the noodles, which still gave it flavor and the slurp you want in a udon. Both were so great in its own way. Even their ramen also looked great, but I love all noodles. Definitely a great spot to dine near Barclays Center. Love to come back whenever I'm in the area again. The udon dishes are on the pricier side, but they're huge bowls.

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.
