Disappointed to say the least. The pizza was soggy and undercooked underneath, but the outer perimeter crust was done right. There was way too much cheese on the pizza that contributed to the soggy mess underneath. It just was not our table, but the surrounding tables also had soggy pizza. Had dinner with my wife there yesterday. The food was good. I was in the mood for a creamy pasta but I don't think they have this on the menu but it's ok. The pizza is delicious and a bit overpriced. Overall it's an expensive restaurant but that's ok since it's BYOB and you save a lot on alcohol. The calamari was good. It was very light. The servers and the staff were all great. I was happy that they didn't play the mask theater like they do in Montclair restaurants. Joy who was not our server but we did speak to her was absolutely amazing. She had so much positive energy that we needed to feel. Overall this place is great! We will go back for sure and we already recommended to our friends. My first visit and I loved the food. Had Caprisi Salad; it was fabulous. Next course, Burrata Pizza and it was beyond fantastic. This is a different kind of pizza with a light airy crust and really fresh ingredients. The prices are great. Also, it's BYOB. There is a liquor store right across the street if you forget to bring a bottle. The decor is lovely. A bit small but I'm sure they will be expanding in no time. You must go. This place is authentic Italian. All the kitchen staff is from Naples and the pizza, which is really great, is Neapolitan style. The entrees were really good, the branzino was great, squid ink pasta was also great. The staff was very friendly and the service was good and surprisingly fast. They play Italian music and it seems like you are in Italy. Rutherford is a dry town so it's byob. Highly recommend this place. Very enjoyable! read more

We went to Song e Napule for my daughter's 21st Birthday. We ordered 3 is the octopus dishes. Mine had a good amount of octopus, the other two only had about 3 in each plate. The dish was mostly made of cherry tomatoes. The flavor was delicious, but the portion was very little. My son and husband had the bolognese dish made lamb, they enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was great and the servers will very warm and friendly. I would return, but would not get the octopus dish again. read more

Original Review: The service staff at the restaurant was extremely rude and ill-mannered. The wait staff was consistently reaching over our plates during the meal before asking if we were done, and interrupting conversations with our guests. At one point one the attendant brought us additional bread and literally flicked it onto the table. I was appalled. At the end of the evening when the bill came there were numerous additional erroneous charges and the waitress had the nerve to bring the hand held credit card machine over to the table, and blatantly hover over my shoulder trying to see what tip I was going to leave them. The service staff truly ruined the dining experience with their unprofessional behavior. The restaurant has limited indoor seating available so they seem to go to the extreme to rush customers out the door. The food wasn't bad, but there are a few Italian restaurants within the neighboring towns that serve wood fired pizza and an excellent choice of entrees, where the service staff are professional and courteous. Save your self the aggravation and stay away from this restaurant. Response to Owner's Comments: I certainly appreciate you taking the time to respond to my review. I would like to clarify the fact that we did not have a bottle and therefore did not require a "corking" fee. We actually drank sparkling water during our meal. The erroneous charges were actually errors on the food charges on our bill. With respect to the "attentiveness" of the staff, I will reiterate the comments made during my original review. The issue was not attentiveness, but rather poorly trained staff reaching across the table BEFORE asking whether we were finished with our courses. As an owner I would ask that you take the criticism in a constructive manner and provide proper training for wait staff on how to conduct themselves as professional wait staff. First let me start out by saying they do not answer their phone for reservations. I stopped in the day before we wanted to go since nobody answered the phone all afternoon. When we stopped in I told them that nobody answers their phone and the hostess proceeded to tell me that their phone rings off the hook and it goes to voicemail...wrong! The phone did not ring once when we were there and they told me they only take reservations the day of dining so it was a wasted trip. We go back the next day...but before we go I called them several times with no answer - right to voicemail. I told them the same thing that nobody answers the phone and she told me the same lame excuse (phone did not ring once when we were there). I should have known then that it would not be a good experience. When we sit down for dinner that evening the waiter starts out by telling us what he doesn't have - basically everything that we wanted to eat (almost all the fish entrees on the menu). He gave us some dumb excuse. We should have walked down the block at that point to another restaurant. Sooooo with that being said they totally screwed up 3 out of 4 meals. We ate them anyway but they were not good. From then on we got an attitude from our waiter in addition to the manager. We ordered two espressos after that and they were cold. How does that happen? While drinking our cold espressos the manager asked us to leave because they needed the table. Needless to say we will not be returning. Side note - I think they wanted to push their pizza which was mostly dough and less than appetizing to me. Pasta dishes were sparse and not appealing as well. read more

Got there 20 minutes early. It was raining. Was asked to leave by owner and come back. I said to my partner let's go somewhere else jokingly . Mistake number 1 he let us leave. We sat in the car for 20 minutes. Came back in Ordered 2 pizzas( they were personal pies) , 1small calamari appetizer, 1 order of meatballs ( appetizer) 3 very small meatballs), 1 piece of cake. Drank tap water. Mistake number 2 the pizza was very doughy. Could not pick up. Used a knife to eat. . Waitress came over to use pizza cutter since she saw the entire pizza just flopped because we couldn't break apart . Mistake number 3 . Got robbed. 140.00 including 20% tip. Woke up sore from getting mugged and stuck up without a gun . Probably top10 worst place I r ever been to. Bad business people. This could've been a five star review but I just experienced a very unprofessional manger at this location. While eating (food and wait staff were amazing) we complimented the waitress about how amazing she was as a server. She proceeded to tell us that she was fired mid shift by the manager. She still showed professionalism and kindness even after this. While leaving the restaurant, we saw the manager and told him how this was our first time being there, that the food was wonderful, and our waitress made our experience great. He scoffed at me and then proceeded to say "well she will not be here for long" while also giving me a dirty look and laughing. It is a shame that the manager of this restaurant would have such bad customer service, and unprofessionalism that they would ruin my experience at this place and now has discourage me coming back for a second time. I ordered online for pick up and it was ready on time but the maitre d was "Mr Pablo Personality", told him I was picking up my order, he went to check and instead of handing me the order, he pointed for me to get it. He does not smile, looks annoyed. If he does not like his job he needs to quit. Your maitre d, staff makes a big part of your business that's why people come not only because of your food.
