When I walked in the owner was super inviting, full of smiles, and very helpful. I tried the calzone. I opted for pepperoni with the mozzarella and ricotta. It was cooked perfectly and it was gorgeous to look at. The cheese could have used a little salt and the dipping sauce in my opinion wasn't good. Tasted like tomato sauce out of can. Really great pizza. Crust is somewhat hard to describe. Not classic super thin tavern crust but unique and somewhat chewy. But a nice kind of chewy. And the sauce and cheese were delicious. A little off the beaten path and is overshadowed by that more famous Paterson pizza place but well worth the trip. I wouldn't put it in my top 5 in NJ but it makes a pretty exclusive list. Had a few people tell us to check this place out so on the way to a ballgame in the city we figured the perfect time is now! We had no suggestions on what to order but we were in a hurry so we figured just grab a few different pies and munch on that. We went with a pepperoni and a margherita. Since we have been there though, we've been told their Italian entrees and the Grandma Pie is excellent as well. The crust on the pies was solid. Nice thin crust with a bit of a snap and some char on the bottom. Exactly how I like it. The pepperoni was a pretty standard pie but the margherita was different, but quite good. There were large chunks of a high quality tomato on there and they didn't just toss whole leaves of basil on there like a lot of places do. I much prefer this to a normal margherita pie. Typically it's a pain to chew the basil and you get many full bites with no basil at all. Price is pretty much what you'd expect and the food was solid. Cannot complain one bit. I'd definitely go back. Also the bakery next door had some excellent Pistachio Baklava. read more

My clients were in the mood for some fast food Italian and ordered from this place. For myself I ordered linguini with marinara and vegetables. I paid via phone with a nice man. I paid around 11:25am and the food didn't come til about 1:05. When it arrived everything looked good. I ate my food when I got in and the pasta wasn't bad. The only vegetables they had in the pasta that I enjoyed was the mushroom. I picked out a lot of the onion and pepper. The flavor was good though. All in all I had an ok experience. read more

So a little over a year later and this place is still great. Stopped in today for a late lunch with my husband. The gentleman (owner maybe or manager?) greeted us and was very pleasant. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a chicken parmigiana sandwich. He was kind enough to let us know we could get whatever toppings we chose for the burger. The place is cute with all the pictures all over the walls and they play a steady stream of what I guess would be called old school swing music -which totally fits the atmosphere. The food was good- the burger was a little well-done but we didn't state our temperature preference so I can't fault them there. It seemed to be charbroiled and was actually very tasty. The chicken parm sandwich was huge and we could only finish one half. It was $8.99 or $8.00 and for the price it was huge! I actually went in for a slice of pizza but there were so many things to choose from on the menu I changed my mind. The pizza did look good though and eventually I'll try it! The restaurant is very clean and the tables were bused right away. It's not super fancy but the food was great and it's a perfect spot to grab lunch or even a casual dinner. I'd definitely return. Stopped in to grab some takeout on a Saturday night. Got a chicken cheesesteak and saw they had individual slices, so grabbed one of those as well. The cheesesteak was pretty tasty, good sub roll they served it on, maybe a little salty but all in all, good. The slice I got was a chicken parm slice. Crust was fine, but it was a little dry. I've seen other places serve a little marinara on top of the parm slice to mitigate this but they didn't. Friendly service, would definitely go back but probably try something other than the parm slice. read more

I order a couple pies for a meeting I had. I did not eat the pizza so I can not attest to the taste but those who did eat it were satisfied. I did deal with the staff who were super friendly. They had my food ready and super hot for me at the time I requested and even helped me carry it to the car. As someone who relies on the food being ready when I need to make a meeting on time this was a huge relief as I am not usually so lucky and I really appreciated it! Top Notch! Food is consistently great. Stand outs: Greek Salad, Eggplant Parm dinner, any type pizza, calzones, sandwiches, etc. Their vodka sauce is one of the best around. Also, the portions are VERY large, so typically the eggplant parm dinner is about 3 meals worth. All in all, a great place. The owner (don't know his name but he's the tall guy LOL) is always personable and great for small talk.
