This sonic is terrible every time I go. They are rude and have no customer service skills. My last experience my sister and I had gone an did our order on the app. We tried going to the boxes which they'll let you order at but then tell you they aren't coming outside and you need to go through the drive thru. Sonic is literally known for the drive in spaces. We go through the drive thru and someone mumbles something about not being able to do any ice cream/frozen drinks because the machine was down. We had already ordered online. Tried to explain that we had frozen drinks in our order but they cut us off and told us to go to the window. We sat in line forever. Which would be understandable if there was inside customers but there wasn't. Just drive thru. Anyways we get to the window and they had all our drinks made. So if it was broken. How'd they make our drinks. They lied at the box. And only did our drinks because it was an online order. Which is harder to fix than just making the drinks. I've worked in fast food and know what people do to try and get rid of customers when busy. They weren't under staffed either we could see a bunch of people inside. read more

I'm assuming these workers are barely interviewed because they run the place so bad. Every place I look it says sonic is open till 11pm. I get there at 10:05 and the outside lights are off, but all the inside lights are on and workers are in there. I pulled up to the drive thru, nobody said anything. I went to one of the drive up spots, pressed the red button, still nothing. Watched 3 other cars do the same thing, and the employees getting in their cars and dipping even before 10:30. The only thing that keeps me heading back to this Sonic is happy hour - half price Cherry Limeades are pretty addictive. But this Sonic is crazy slow (I waited 14 minutes for my cherry limeade yesterday). The food is always hit or miss (I've gotten raw chicken, cold food, oversalted food, the wrong food). The exceedingly decent: Better than average (but not by much) comes the jalapeno poppers and mozz sticks. While pretty tasty, but they're nothing to write home about. The bad: Their french fries. Usually, fast food places have solid fries. You eat them, go "Yum!" and hope your heart doesn't give out from the grease. But not Sonic, nope. They're bland, tasteless and overly soggy. I'd call them "edible carbohydrate spears" but that would probably make somebody want to order one, which is a horrible mistake. DON'T DO IT! Burn your money instead. It's a better investment then buying Sonic's fries. The really negative: One of my passengers got a rock hard, stale bagel with their breakfast sandwich today from this Sonic. Some of the items we've got have had mixed results with quality control (e.g. grilled burger bun day 1, ungrilled, out of the package bun day 2). I love Sonic (especially their coffee - believe it or not), but hate this one in particular. I've been to a bunch of Sonics in the past, but this one is by far the slowest. Last summer, my husband and I were returning from a friend's house and decided to drop in here for some ice cream. We were the only people there and each ordered a sundae. 30 minutes later, we were finally driving away with our ice cream. The people are nice and always apologize. But that's the problem - they're always apologizing for the wait. I honestly don't know why I keep going back, other than I can't get enough of the breakfast toasty on lazy Sunday mornings. I was very disappointed with my meal at sonic. I asked for the new cheeseburger that has double the cheese and grilled onions and pickles. Not only did I not receive the sandwich with my order, and had to back up and go to the window again, the sandwich did not have onions on it or pickles. We pulled into the drive-thru, and there was trash and loose garbage strewn across the drive-thru lane. They took our order, we drove up, it appeared they botched the order of the people in front of us. When we got to the cashier, she was less than cordial, and barked out the price of the order. No greeting, or thank you, whatsoever. She handed me the first shake, which had ice cream dripping all down the cup. I took the second shake, and she just shut the door. No thank you's at all. I had to knock on the window to ask for some napkins. Her fake fingernails were long, and not suitable for handling people's food. Not sanitary at all. They just assumed we wanted whipped cream in the shakes, and the smaller one appeared to have more whipped cream than ice cream in it. A total disappointment. NEVER EVER AGAIN! I just sat in the drive-thru line for 20 minutes just to be disrespected! 15 of those were AT THE WINDOW after the idiot charged me for the wrong order, then proceeded to hand me the wrong order. They then had to cancel the credit card charge and I STILL waited another 5 minutes until he came back from doing that. Upon returning to the window, he asked for my credit card to charge me for the correct order. I informed him that he would be giving me my order for all of the hassle they caused. I don't understand why when you look up sonic in Pennsylvania on Yelp and find this one so underrated. Okay, all Sonics are a little different, but I hope to raise this 2.5 star average up, because this is one of the reasons that we stay around here... On Long Island, New York, there is one Sonic. It doesn't compare to this one, since it is the experience, mostly. We come here every time we stay in Allentown. The Oreo Blast is phenomenal. The only reason I gave one star is Bc there isn't an option for 0 stars. I work in the restaurant industry and pulled into one of the spaces outside with the intention of tipping the person who would bring out my food. I placed my order on the app to have it easier for the employees. I pressed the red button and all the woman had to say was drive thru only and hung up. I pressed it again and waited another two minutes for someone to respond and yelled at me saying drive thru only. I told her I had a mobile order and put my spot on the app and off course she said drive thru only again. Like what type of customer service is that. After waiting another 15 minutes in the 3 car long drive thru, I get to the window and the banana pudding shake that I ordered was not made Bc they don't have it. I asked for a refund and they said I have to contact corporate. Long story short corporate was just as rude as the employees in the restaurant and won't give me a refund. Unfortunately we were very disappointed visiting this location. Would you believe that they do not even put napkins in the bag that they bring out to the car with your food. Once they bring the food, if you need anything else you have to get out of the car and go back to the store. That defeats the purpose of a drive-in restaurant. Every time I eat at Sonic (not just this one) I'm disappointed. In the past I ordered grilled cheese for my son, and it wasn't grilled. The burgers are pretty bad. Cherry limeade was way too seltzery. Tonight I split a sundae with my son. The ice cream was over frozen and there was barely any hot fudge on it. This was by far the best service I have ever had at Sonic. The manager working the night shift on October 4, 2019 was by far the kindest man I have ever met. Although I was not able to get his name, I want everyone to know how he made my night. They had run out of mozzarella sticks, he came out and asked me if I wanted to switch it to something else. I changed my drink and had asked for a corn dog and he gave them to me for free. On top of that he also gave me my meal for free because of the confusion. I rate Sonic a 3 all together. Food - 1 star Milkshakes - 10 stars! I personally do not like their food. When i go out i look for food that i cannot make at home, a diffrent taste. Sonic does not provide that, id rather just eat at home. Their slushees can be pretty good, my only complaint is the taste changes. Some people use to much syrup and it burns your mouth, others not enough. 1 out of 4 times is it perfect but we still go for the grape ones! Now the milkshakes on the other hand....TO DIE FOR! FILTHY! I needed to use the restroom and it was locked with no one in it. I walked around to find a door, not knowing there was no inside area. The outside was filthy and smelled liked old trash. This has to be the absolute worst fast food joint i have ever been to in my entire life. Every time we come to this place, our order is either cold, old, or messed up. We even went so far as to ask for "fresh food" the last time we went. The guy said "we always have fresh food" BS. Every single time we come here the burgers are cold, the fries are cold and sometimes rock hard, and i mean jeez, they cant seem to get an order right. We order bacon doubles and got no bacon, we order jr double and got a sausage patty and a hamburger patty. We order blasts, and they are barely mixed! This is just completely unacceptable.
