What's not to love about Sonic? Love this location because it's right by my house and while the service can be slow, they have never messed up an order and they're always friendly. I love the Supersonic breakfast burrito, imho the best breakfast burrito in town - it makes a McD's burrito look like a pathetic joke. Tots in a burrito? Yes, please! Their Chicago dog is my other favorite. And I am addicted to their cherry limeade! Not a fan of their burgers, though, but that's just me. I have to say the manager Devin went above and beyond for us. We tried to go through the drive-through with a truck and trailer. The trailer was too long. We tried ordering through the outside mic it did not work. I called him. He came out and talked to us. And took our order. I would highly recommend going to this sonic ...very awesome to deal with!!! It's a bummer this is the only sonic around here (that I know of). Customer service is awful. First off I'll start with saying, when this place first opened, they were great. They would always say "have a super sonic day!" At the end of your order. It was nice! Now, you will have to wait FOREVER in line. No more "have a super sonic day" and the foods just not worth the money. On to the big part, I ordered from here on 4/20/19 and ordered about $15 worth of food. I check my bank statements a day or two later and I see they charged my card twice. When I called the store to tell them about it, Megan the manager told me she could not find ANY evidence stating they charged me twice. She even had someone else looking with her, she told me. She said I have to drive up there (mind you it's 40 mins from where I work) and I have to show her my bank statement to prove to her I'm not lying. So if I did that, I would lose more money taking the time off of work to do that. It would not be worth it. Asked if I could email my statement. "No I have to see it in person" she did not even care a little the fact that I would lose more money taking the time off work just for the 15 dollars. When none of this was my fault mind you. THE WORST fast food restaurant!! We ordered 2 double cheeseburgers, a small tater tot and small fries totaling $15.22. When we got to the pickup window, the employee told us $9. I told her what our order was and she charged us $15.22 then handed the bag to us. I checked the bag and there were 2 burgers, tots and fries. Ok I thought we were good. NO! When we got home and opened the burgers we had a single hamburger, no cheese, it was cold and tasted horrible. The fries and tots were cold. We were ripped of. So pissed. I ordered off the everyday value menu. The jr. deluxe burger was okay but kinda smushed and contained lots of shredded lettuce and mayo - two things that I find annoying when in abundance. I thought I'd like the tater tots, but it must have been an off night. They tasted really weird. The boyfriend and I kept eating them, trying to pinpoint the weirdness, until we realized that the tots had a faint vanilla-y taste to them, as if a ton of french toast sticks had been deep fried in the oil first and then the tater tots went into the deep fryer afterwards. Lastly, I tried the jr. candy sundae - vanilla ice cream, your choice of candy topping (I got Reese's), whipped cream, and a maraschino cherry on top. This wasn't bad but was half melted when I got it. It was quite tiny, which is good if you're going for portion control. I probably would have preferred 1.5 to 2 of them though. If you're going for ice cream at a fast food place, I think that McD's sundaes are better in size and taste. Maybe I should've ordered one of the slushes, but the colors just seemed too alarming. read more

I was so excited when I knew this Sonic was opening up ... I had it in Florida once a few years beforehand and was irrationally happy when I heard it was being built. I've been here probably five times, and each passing time I've become less impressed. It's such a mediocre/eh place ... and the prices are sort of high for some stupid reason. First of all, their hot dogs -- they're terrible. They're flavorless and taste like spongy salt. That's it -- kind of like the hot dogs you'd have in high school. The chili is more of the same... SALT. Their shakes and all of that are decent enough, and their burgers and chicken sandwiches are fine and good, but the prices, again, seem higher than what they should be from a fast food place. Also, would it kill you to get some people who can speak English please? Nothing worse than asking for, for example, "A number one with a Dr. Pepper with light ice." and getting repeated back to you, loudly and static-y, as "UH NUH WUH WIH UH DAH PE-UH LAH AHS!?!?!??!!?!?" It's a place I'll eat at if I'm not the one paying...almost gave it a two but went up because I like their burgers and chicken a decent bit, despite the prices of both. read more

I visit this Sonic regularly and after an experience on December 28th. 2014 at about 9:10 pm I might not ever go there again. I ordered a 12 piece boneless chicken wing and a six inch chili cheese dog for my daughter. While waiting for the wings I observed the following. One of the staff was making a shake. She removed a banana from the cooler and broke a piece off with her bare hands and added it to the shake. First off when handling food to be served directly to a customer health laws require the use of washed hands and protective gloves. She had none. To make matters worse she then started to rub her bare hands in her hair, and continued to prepare the shake. She finished the shake with a cherry again using the unwashed bare hands. I immediately spoke with the night manager about this and emphatically suggest she monitor her employees a little more closely. This was subsequently followed up with a phone call to the store during the day to the day manager who said she was in the middle of her lunch rush and would look into it later. My impression was that she was not the concerns, thanked me and hung up. I have also reported this to the corporate office who provided me a report number after documenting, repeating, and confirming the report. read more

While the food is pretty typically of Sonic restaurants, the drive thru line is always ridiculously slow and 9 times out of 10, the night staff are unbelievably rude and unprofessional. Generally, I don't see a great point in rating a national chain fast food joint like Sonic, but they're just now appearing in Michigan so a lot of people don't really know what to expect. They just know those goofy commercials have been playing here for years and the nearest Sonic has historically been in Ohio. Besides, I'm a bit of a fast food connoisseur. Those who have been to a drive-up A&W will feel a familiarity with the layout and experience. You pull into your spot, order, and they bring it out to you. Some Sonics even have employees wear roller skates to better simulate the car-hop experience of retro dining although I can't say for certain this one does. Still, this leaves you with a bit of a dilemma: you're expected to sit in your car and eat your food while dancing around the fear that your burger is about to drip mustard on the leather seats. As for food, it's all okay but really just that. I'd say the burgers are similar to Wendy's but not as good and some of their "unique" menu options aren't so unique when you bring them to Michigan. Sure, a coney dog is a rare treat in Florida but up here it's like "no thanks, I had one yesterday." The drinks are really the part that shines and they really are as good as you've heard. Still, the main selling points of a Sonic are the beverages and the drive-in experience. Not the food itself. read more

I would love to give them 0 stars, my wife and I stopped in ordered 4 bacon cheeseburgers and recd burgers that were sloppily made with the buns so saturated they were disintegrating, they were disgusting. I contacted sonic headquarters in detail about mu experience by email, the only answer I got back was a survey on how satisfied I was with the action on the compliant, which was duhhhhh no action by them. This Sonic location has gone so far down in service, food,etc (They dont know how to make a float) that we vowed never to go to that location. We live super close to this Sonic, so it is very convenient. However, I really hate going there. They get our order wrong EVERY time. I get home and there is an entire sandwich missing or made completely wrong. In addition, the food just isn't very good. Most of the other fast food places are better. For once Sonic did not have a ridiculously long line, which gave my boyfriend and I the opportunity to try it. We went around 10:00p.m. I have been wanting to come here since it opened, but I also did not want to wait an hour for a fast food hamburger! I do love the whole drive in idea. The only turnoff was that we had a car full of teen girls to our right and a car with two loud teen boys to our left...lucky us! I know Sonic is more known for desserts but I left that for next time. I stuck with ordering a hamburger. I think I was more infatuated with the whole drive in aspect of Sonic, but they offer decent fast food too. The pricing is fair with most combo meals in the $5.00 range. My burger tasted a lot like Rally's hamburgers. I have been to this location 3 times now and it is either not open on time or open and not ready to serve food. To me since it's primary job (well only job is to serve food) this is a problem. Three strikes you're out. I will never go back, and why would i? It's not like I have even eaten here to know if the food is good. If your not ready to serve food then why don't you just say that your opening late and will be opening shortly. Also maybe this location would open on time and serve actual food if the owner had more than one employee to get it started for the day. Obviously you don't care about your store, employees or customers. Or how your store looks. Maybe you should close it if it is a waste of your time and money. read more

I would say that I'm a patient person who is more than forgiving considering I've worked in food service most of my life, but I'm so beyond done with this Sonic. I have never had a visit there under ten minutes, which would be fine if the food was hot or even right, which is a rare occurrence. After this last visit, though, we've sworn it off. My husband went through the drive-thru and ordered three five-piece chicken strip meals with fries and limeades. He was asked to repeat, which he did. He then waited fifteen minutes for the food and then came home. However, when we opened up the bags, we saw that our order was completely wrong. Instead, we had been given three #11's (three chicken strips, toast, one onion ring and tater tots). To add insult to injury, all of the food was cold. Mind you, we live barely five minutes away. So we called the manager who insisted that we were just confused on what we ordered but she would happily give us a refund. Um, what?? This Sonic is definitely out of second chances.
