Before even entering I noticed the grinch chair covers through the window. We entered and a talking Buddy-style elf taller than me greeted us! There was also a full-size animated talking Santa! There were cute child size elf wooden figures where kids can stick their heads in for photos. The holiday decor didn't end there. So fun! We were promptly cheerfully greeted. I was thrilled that the shop carried Ashby's Sterling ice cream, which is my favorite and a Michigan product. The scoops are generous. The next time I will try a shake or malt. Multiple people looked unsure whether they were supposed to seat themselves or wait to be seated, and the layout just isn't very inviting or intuitive for guests or even the staff. We ordered the lobster roll with a side of mac and cheese and a chicken bowl. The lobster roll was incredibly disappointing--dry, lacking flavor, and honestly just unpleasant. The mac and cheese and chicken bowl were okay, but nothing memorable enough to justify the wait or the price. Speaking of the price, this meal was expensive, which made the experience even more disappointing. I left feeling like I had wasted my money. I had really been looking forward to trying this restaurant, but between the unavailable signature drink, the extremely long wait, the confusing atmosphere, and the underwhelming food, it was a frustrating experience from start to finish. I genuinely regret spending the money here and, unfortunately, don't see myself coming back.
