Worst service ever. People standing around talking. 15 min to take my order. Manger vaping while everyone standing around.

I'm currently sitting outside of this Sonic and literally watching the workers stand around, laugh and talk while people are waiting for orders to be placed. Where is the manager? We saw one of them hit their vape. I've never been to a Sonic this terrible, and I think Sonic has some bad locations. Yikessss read more

Everytime I go to this sonic i have to wait a long time as in 30-40+ minutes. I even use the app to order in advanced. I get there check in and wait... and wait... and wait. Then i press the red button to check on my order and there is no answer and its been now over 10+ minutes. They are so understaffed so that is why. The staff are nice but they need to be offering better pay in this area so more people will want to work. read more

Terrible service. Don't come here if you don't an hour to spare because that's how long it took them to get my order. I placed my order online and checked in within minutes and waited for 15 minutes then decided to press the button and check in and then waited another 25 minutes for my food to come to my car and they're were still things missing from my order. read more

Totally blown away by the long wait times the past two visits both in 1 week. Having to repeat hitting the red order button a 3rd time before getting to order only having to wait 20 minutes for two milkshakes made us realize it would have been faster and cheaper to hit the Randall's across the street for Ice cream. Poor Lakeway Sonic is in way over its head signed 30 minute milkshakes that were the wrong orders!!!! Tip for adventurous Sonic fans, don't pre pay for your food so that your not held hostage like we were !! read more

This sonic is ALWAYS insanely slow every time I come. I've been here where there's only 3 cars and still took 20 minutes to get a cheeseburger and a drink. Tonight I waited over 20 minutes just to put in my order and another 30 minutes just to get my order. Normally I'd leave but I was starving and it's the only place besides Whataburger open. PLEASE hire more staff! I get it's Friday night and there was a football game but come on! read more

They NEVER put the marinara sauce in with the order no matter how many times you indicate to do so. Every time I have ordered online I never get my sauce even after paying for an extra. And when visiting in person you still have to ask to get a sauce after food is brought out. As far as I know mozzarella sticks automatically come with a marinara sauce. So why is it that there's never any sauce with my order unless I call and make sure they put it in? Ridiculous! read more

If I could give this place -10 stars I would. The last couple of times I couldn't even get anyone to answer the order button so we wound up just leaving. The last time will be the last time I ever go here. I thought I'm hungry and need something quick. Haha. I order and get my food fairly quickly for them. However, she hands me the bag and it's wet on the bottom. I ask, why is the bag wet on the bottom? Her reply? The counter was probably wet because the roof leaks. PS: it wasn't raining. What? Are you kidding me? You can't wipe off the counter? Or maybe fix whatever is leaking? And she was shocked when I told her I didn't want any of it. Where is the health department? Or the owner? Ordered my child a jr burger with just cheese, got his order and there wasn't any cheese so I asked if they could put some on there. Waited 20 minutes for this burger and I see the person who took the burger back go across the parking lot and just chilled with her friends. 20 minutes for a burger to just slap cheese on it, now I have a hungry kid who wants his lunch. Pressed the button and ask where my kids burger is at and they remade it(so I think). At this point I should've just looked at what I ordered, one of the burgers I got just had clumps of mayonnaise which wasn't appetizing. By the time I waited for this burger my food was already cold. Not to mention it wasn't even busy maybe 3-4 cars in the lot. read more

This location has always been a little slow, but the carhops seem to work hard and always apologize. I kept going back because I love their drinks. On the evening of 7/20/2020 I ordered a slush and a shake via the app. I got there and checked in. It was very busy and there was only 1 carhop working. It took 40 minutes to bring my order. I would have given up and left if I hadn't already paid. When it finally showed up, everything was melted. Totally unacceptable. read more

So, I decided to take my girlfriend and her daughter to the local Sonic the other night. Neither of them had even been. We were only interested in desserts this visit. We got there and parked. They were both intrigued by the big lighted menus on either side of the car and started rattling off the names of all the things that sounded good. This went on for a few minutes. Once everybody was ready, I pressed the button and was greeted by a sweet voice on the other end. We ordered a banana split for the little one, a butterfinger blizzard for my girlfriend and I got a large cherry limeade, which is one of my all-time favorites. Within minutes, a young woman came out on roller skates and delivered the sweets to our car. She also offered us mints, which we gladly accepted. Everybody left happy and I am sure we will go back soon. read more

Worst sonic ever. SO SLOW. I've given them so many chances to correct their issues and nothing ever changes. Between the stalls being out of order, to pushing the button 3-4x before getting a response, to finally getting my DRINK, yes drink, 25 minutes later... then getting the wrong drink, this place just sucks. Management blows. Get it together. Won't be back! Which is unfortunate, because I literally work across the street and I love sonic drinks. read more

Oh hey MANAGER at Sonic Lakeway. Tried calling you for the past 45 minutes and you run such a great store, no one could answer the phone. Anywho, wanted to let you, Lakeway residents and the Greater Austin area know that when I ordered NO CHEESE on my burger, I pretty much meant no cheese. No matter, your cook or prep staff thought that once they carelessly slapped cheese on my burger that it would be better to try to scrape some of the melted cheese off with their grubby nasty fingers instead of, oh I don't know, MAKE ANOTHER BURGER WITHOUT CHEESE. So imagine my surprise to see fingerprint marks trying to scrape off the cheese. Ah, you guys are f-u-n-n-y! That's why I'm sharing my review with the Health Department! read more

Slowest sonic I've ever been to! I love sonic but this one is ridiculously slow. Every time I've been it takes around 10 minutes to even get someone to talk to you than 15 minutes more to get food. I don't know if it's short staffed here but something needs to change! read more

Have no idea what the problem is at this location. Poor management possibly? Went yesterday and noticed only 1 server bringing food out to the many many cars outside. Then noticed how long it took the lady inside to even respond to the button/call to order. Sat there at least 30 minute waiting for the food. Then noticed patron after patron after patron physically getting out of there cars to walk in (mind you- there is no walk-in offered, just an employee only area). He even stopped coming out the last 10 minutes or so. People kept pulling up and leaving. After pushing the button 2 times again, just to ask what was going on, and not getting even a response- I left. Total of 45 minutes with no food. Unacceptable! Won't go back. read more

Food and drink is great, wait is not. We stopped in here at 4 PM today, a weekday. We ordered 2 large diet cokes and 2 vanilla cones. It took 25 minutes for them to deliver the cokes, and they forgot the ice cream. Even after we told our server, she delivered several other orders. My wife finally got out of our vehicle and complained inside the store, we finally got our cones. Normally if we were paying cash we would have left, but we used a credit card and so had to wait. This is incredibly poor service. Not sure what is wrong, but management needs to be aware that expectations for quick service are not being met.....especially when there is no food to be cooked. read more

Two times in a row my order has been wrong. Both times it was exactly the same mistake. The bad thing is that what I ordered both times was considerably more expensive than what I got in the bag, so not only did I not get what I ordered, I got ripped off in the process. guess I should have read the reviews or taken note of the fact that the parking lot is ALWAYS empty. The worst! They wouldn't even take my order-- sat there for 25 minutes waiting with a message on the screen "someone will be right with you" which never happened. I could see inside where there were two employees, so I thought maybe they were just busy. Then I figured, maybe it was the bay I was in, so I moved, and waited another 10 minutes before giving up. By then, I was too angry to even use the walk up order station. What a waste of time! Why bother even being open if you're not going to bother letting people order? THE WORST LOCATION. My husband and I went to this location THREE times trying to have our order fixed and every time it wasn't fixed. The guy taking my order was so rude to me for even asking him to fix my order and acted like it was my fault??? Will never come back! read more

We've had many problems at this location, and most recently we've had three occasions where it took over 10 minutes to get two Route 44 Cokes. The restaurant wasn't busy, so that's not an excuse. We've also had on several occasions the wrong food delivered...on our last visit we ordered Tots with Cheese, and the order taker verified the cheese when we placed our order. When we got the order, there was no cheese, but we were also not charged for it, so we didn't say anything and just ate them. We've also gotten Diet Coke when we've ordered regular Coke, and I'm highly sensitive to the artificial sweetener. And I reported this to Sonic today, and I'll consider updating this review if it's fixed. There is an employee who works there with a giant pickup truck covered with hateful political bumper stickers and gun stickers. We work from home, and when we go to Sonic, it's a break in the middle of the day to unplug from all of the orneriness on TV and Facebook, and we just don't want to see this. When we come around the corner and see his truck, it just makes us angry, and ruins our "happy" afternoon break. He has a right to free speech, but we are starting to avoid Sonic because it doesn't make us feel good about dealing with people who think it's okay to offend others. Please back your truck in so we don't have to look at it. read more

Not really sure what's happening with the staffing at this business. Multiple issues here. At the bare minimum I feel like the Sonic should be able to take our order. However, this location can't even do that. We sat there again...nothing. So tonight we drove off again. Can the owner please address this issue please? Bad service is one thing. I would rather give them no stars. I've stopped here a few times after work and even if there are barely any cars, it still takes them at least 10 min to respond when you press the button and then another 10-20 min waiting on your food and half the time your order is messed up but you don't want to complain bc you've already been there for like 20+ minutes. 2nd time in a row. Over 30 mins to get the food and of course 2nd time food wrong when get home. Done with this place. Won't go back again
