Five Stars Great food, friendly staff, and awesome service! On my commute home today, I swung by Sonic to grab a couple of our favorite sandwiches: Double Sonic Smashers with extra onions . In the past, we have always ordered Onion Rings, but lately...these crinkle fries (which they call Groovy Fries) have been . Get the Groovy Sauce to go with them and whoooo! My order was taken by a Young Lady named Deja, who was very courteous and knowledgeable. When I got to the window, she also double checked my order and took my money. Now, today in Michigan City, IN the temp was 16 degrees with a wind chill of about 5 below zero. As I waited for my order, I saw Deja come out of the store and deliver orders to cars which were parked in the carhop area. From where I sat, it seemed as though Deja was running the entire Front of the House. My food was ready and handed to me (yes, by Deja) in a matter of minutes, and remember, I had two (2) specialty orders. The quick fix for someone short staffed would have been to grab a couple of burgers that were already in the chute and "doctor" them up. Instead, we got hot and fresh burgers made to order. My girlfriend and I have tried Sonic in Michigan City a few times now. The order process is very difficult. We just went there last night. I ordered a #4 with just American cheese and ketchup, large tots and large coke. The woman was completely not even paying attention to the order. She asked what I wanted to drink. Then asked if I wanted large. Then asked if I wanted fries or tots. Then asked if I wanted them large. When that ordeal was done I asked her to repeat the order back to me which she did not. We got to the drive up window and asked if she heard me say only American cheese and ketchup on the burger, she did not. She had to go back and tell the cook the correction. As we were waiting for the food, another order from the drive in was sent back for being incorrect. Sonic has pretty decent food and great shakes. In the summer time it's a great place to go. You definitely see less and less people going there because of extremely slow service and just incorrect orders. The place will not last if something is not done to correct these issues. read more

Got a super crappy attitude from the employee for asking to buy a bag of ice? Food tasted fine and slush was good, however I've bought ice about 4 times prior to this at the drive in spaces not sure what the problem was today. I bought the ice and they delivered it nicely to me after the initial attitude over the speaker. I'll be back because honestly sonic has the best ice. read more

Terrible customer service had questions about a mobile order I placed I was cut off then had to proceed to talk to someone else who then screamed and screamed after talking with me without resolving my issue when I was finally brought my meal I was missing all my sauces and still had to place an additional order since it wouldn't allow me to do so online when I was brought the additional meal the lady screamed again before going back inside both ladies had a nasty attitude and it was not busy read more

Update.. Changed to one star. I've been here twice after my first review and both times the workers was soooo rude and rush you like crazy! The last visit was so bad everyone in the drive thru had to pull off due to the wait. And they act like they are put out if THEY mess up your order and even want to argue with you over it. I know everyone has stressful days but c'mon. No excuse for how this place is being ran now. Asked for ketchup with 4 orders of tots. Got 3 packets. Asked for more and they bring me 2! The absolute worst and rudest service imaginable. Especially for mediocre food. I ordered on the internet and pre paid. The website told my 1)to go and pull in any stall 2) press the red button 3) tell them my name. I did this. The staffer told me I needed to check in on the app. I started to explain that I don't have the app. They just didn't respond. After sitting forever, I called inside. This led to them blaming me that it's my fault because I didn't check in. They said the order was ready and they'd bring it out. That was 10 minutes ago. The service was incredibly slow and they somehow managed to forget my burger combo. When I called to ask for it to be remedied, they said they wouldn't refund my money nor provide me the burger they forgot because there was no manager present nor would they tell me when one would be present. When I asked if it was easier if I just disputed the charge on my card and they said "whatever" and just sat in silence until I hung up. This was one of the worst experience of my life. My wife and I go to get a hot dog and a drink and I talked to the girl through the speaker for one thing she can't hear me and I'm screaming at the top of my lungs to get it through. Just horrible communication. She's everywhere. She's everywhere but on the phone with me then I'm waiting 15 minutes for fast food which is absurd to begin with. Then when I call back I said to her her through her speaker. How do you? How much longer will it be? And she says I don't know sir. How do you not know you go ask who's cooking it or preparing it. That's what you do and they're very racist. You can see how they take preference over one person from another and it just is not right. It is the worst place and this makes the third time. This is the absolute third time that I have been there. I will never ever ever ever ever go back. Somebody needs to do something you need to start hiring people. You need a good manager. After seeing a new shake on a commercial that was being offered, we decided to drive 20 miles, a 1/2 hour away, to eat and to try it out. I find out first thing that they're out of the new shake. We order our food and when it comes, we ask for ketchup and mustard packets. After going in, he comes back and tells us that they're OUT OF MUSTARD. 'We're out of everything.' There was mustard on my burger so I asked if they could put some in a cup for us. After going in, he said that the manager said NO. We were flabbergasted. My wife eats her corn dogs with mustard. Had she known, she would have ordered something else. The onion rings tasted like they were fried with something sweet. He gave us NO NAPKINS. An employee throws the drive thru window open and yells, "are you the b*tch that ordered all these m***er f***ing burgers?" Then slams it shut. The lady pounds on the window and someone else comes to the window. She said, "I don't know what he's talking about. That's not my order." And the guy looked back at me because it was my order. I ordered 3 burgers, that's it. Maybe he was having a bad day, I get it, we all have those. But don't cuss out a customer for ordering food when you work at a FOOD PLACE. Completely unorganized. We were asked multiple times if our order was someone else's. And Whatever you do, check your bag BEFORE you pull off. Not only did we have to wait a LONG time for our order, there were missing items and on top of that, the fries I received were old and tasted like they were dipped in hot grease to appear fresh. Got a Chicago dog and a number 12 (boneless wings) the hot dog completely fell through the bun as soon as I picked it up. Bun was completely soggy and the pickle looked as if it was sitting out under a heat lamp for 3 days. Moved to the boneless wings. They should changed the name to deep fried bread crumbs. absolutely horrible. horrible service. me and 3 friends stopped by sonic on a girls trip, 3 hours from home. we placed all the orders perfectly fine and had gotten all but one order. while we had been waiting we were in the car talking (a private conversation) we had placed all the orders and everything so we were not talking to any store members. we were unaware that even though we couldn't hear them, that they could hear us even before and after we placed the order. so obviously we were having a private conversation joking about our friend who ordered last. an employee comes out saying they were refusing to serve us because we were talking 'crap' to the workers and cursing at them. we were all very confused and they didn't comment any more and just went inside. i called the store from the parking lot asking to speak to a manage. i explained the situation and the manager was EXTREMELY rude and said that they were listening in to our conversation and that even though it was private it doesn't excuse what we said. the whole situation left one of us crying from how rude she was and one of us hungry still. didn't even get a refund. wouldn't recommend this place to anyone read more

Went there last night with my daughter. The lady taking the order did not give her name but kept saying just a minute and leaving the speaker and then coming back and I had to repeat our order everytime. I asked her a question about whether or not a sandwich came with cheese on it and she did not know and seemed very irritated that I asked. I ordered my hot dog plain. The order appears on the screen and she kept getting it wrong and over and over I would repeat myself and she kept making me start over. So I know I told her at least 4-5 times that the hot dog needed to be plain. When the order came (after 20 MInutes)the hot dog was loaded with everything. So I pushed the red button and told them and they said they would replace it. It took so long for them to respond that I just wanted to leave. So I told Allie (who claimed to be the manager) that I just wanted a refund for the hot dog. She said they don't give refunds and that they don't have a way to give a refund. So I waited for the hot dog and just threw it out because I was just so disgusted. The carhop's name was Rita and she didn't even say a word to us. I will NEVER EVER go there again. As I was passing through Michigan City, I was craving a burger and shake for lunch. So, I decided to go to Sonic as their burger and shake quality is typically good and unlikely to put a dent on the bank. However, I surprised by the lack of friendliness and attention to details by the workers at this location. The woman who put in our orders not only was unwilling to accommodate to my specific requests, but make several errors in my small and simple order. I asked for a #2 Super Sonic Double Cheeseburger and if any other cheeses aside from American were doable. The woman said there was not so I requested my burger without cheese. She then processed that as I wanted 2 of those burgers, both of which still had American cheese on them. I then requested a side of ranch for my fries which she also failed to include in my order. Her errors made my total significantly higher than anticipated and also not the food I specifically ordered. As simple of a task that this was, their lack of attention and overall competence was severely lacking. Safe to say I will not be returning to a Sonic. read more
