I had a great experience at sonic this week. I popped through the drive-through for a quick burger and iced tea. They were out of iced tea, but the server was very apologetic. I ordered a lemonade instead, and it was absolutely delicious with the double cheeseburger. This place frustrates me beyond belief I only go for slushys and it is about 30 minutes drive from my home. My last 3 visits were as follow Visit 1 : there was someone in the drive thru telling people they didn't have enough people working to take any orders. Visit 2: Slushy machine is down and will be fixed in a day or 2. ( also only reason I go is for a slushy in the summer ) Visit 3: approximately 2 weeks after visit 2 , slushy machine is down and told it will be fixed in about 2 weeks... I've never once had to call a fast food place in advanced to see if they are open , when they should be open , or if they have things that they advertise they have. I honesty have bought myself a slushy maker because of this place being so inconsistent. I'm usually not about the one or two star life. But, sonic has rapidly declined. I understand that this is a fast food establishment, but the service is lackluster and sub par. It seems like it's operated by a bunch of kids who would rather be someplace else. Trust me I get it but if you're working in the service industry you should provide some level of service. I used their app to get my beverage discounted and when I pulled up to the drive through I was told that they could not provide it to me through the window and I would have to come in...for them to hand me a beverage?! So I drove back around and parked, to walk in, just to have my drink handed to me which could have been done through the window. The young lady behind the counter asked me if I ordered grape. I told her no and provided her with the flavor I ordered. She proceeded to lift the top off of the beverage to see what it was. Had it been the right drink I would have been further annoyed. This place needs a visit from corporate or the franchisee as soon as possible. I've gone to the Meriden location but it has been a long time. If I could give them zero stars I would. I have gone to this location numerous times. Everytime they screw something up. I asked for a #1 with no cheese add bacon. What did I end up with? A burger w cheese and bacon. I don't think it is that hard to listen or even ask a customer to repeat an order. Do NOT come to this Sonic. It has the slowest service I have ever experienced. The food was fine but we waited in the drive thru line for 20 minutes. The line was only 3 cars long but when we were at the window we could see three employees just standing around without doing anything for multiple minutes. I would give this place ZERO stars if possible. I've been to this establishment maybe three times since they opened. The first time was wonderful but the other times were not so much. One time, we ordered up front and ate inside. Our order came out in a not so timely fashion and incorrect. I just visited today around 5pm and one woman was ahead of us to order inside. The cashier takes the woman's order and then says to me that the woman ahead of us was the LAST patron to order inside and they were only taking orders outside. WHAT! I came to Sonic to get an item that I had been thinking about all week (cookie dough blast) only to be turned away. This Sonic has always been a complete disaster. During my three visits, the person working the cash register inside has to take orders inside AND deliver food outside; leaving the front vacant and customers will leave if orders are not taken promptly. The cashier during my visit today said the kitchen was short-staffed and could only handle orders from the outside car-hops. I always have an issue at this Sonic. Tonight I went through the drive-thru and ordered my food with no issue, surprisingly. I got to the window and gave my card to pay and the cashier told me they weren't accepting cards because the system went down. I understand that technology has its issues and is not always reliable, but I didn't have any cash and was not told that the card machine was down when ordering. I informed the cashier that I didn't have cash on me and his reply was 'Then you can't get your food'. No apology or anything. DO NOT GO TO THIS SONIC!!! I arrived on a sunday at around 10:45. Me and my sister were driving back from NY to boston after clearing out the last of her apt. We reluctantly pulled through to pay and pick up our food with optimism. We waited a few minutes, paid, and recieved our drinks and food with no problems yet. I opened the order and I was stricken with horror... there was no mustard for my corndog. I decided that the mustard was crucial to the corndog so my sister parked and I tried to enter the sonic, MAIN ENTRANCE was locked. walked around the building and the other door was locked. so i decided to stand in the drive thru line in my pijamas and fuzzy christmas socks in the middle of august and ask for mustard. 1 star service because my experience was based solely on terrible customer service. Last night myself and my pregnant wife decided to indulge in one of her cravings at sonic. When arriving at 9:45 PM, we were greeted by nothing but ATTITUDE. There was no one available at the drive thru speaker so we pulled up to the window. An employee didn't even make eye contact but instead yelled, "WE'RE CLOSED". I just stared at her and then my dashboard clock because this establishment closes at 10pm, not 9:45. I am so disappointed to be leaving a negative review, but hoping whoever owns this particular Sonic locations takes notice and makes some big changes. I love sonic and have been going to this location for years and have been there many times during the pandemic. Wait times etc aside, the parking lot is filthy. Filled with trash. When I went there last week the menu display was broken, and the parking lot was completely littered. When I ordered, I didn't have a problem but the fried items tasted like the fryer hadn't been changed in a while. I also bought a slushy and had to throw it away bc the ice did not taste right and smelled like cherry + dirty mop water! I'm assuming the ice maker hasn't been changed either. I understand they are short staffed, but that would cause long lines and wait time. There's really no excuse for the filth. If you ever you want the worst hot dogs this the place to go I ordered a footlong Coney I was very disappointed. when taking the hot dog out of the package all of the toppings that was on the hot dog came right off so I wound up eating a plain hot dog. Parking lot was trashed! Garbages full to the point of overflowing. Restaurant was trashed as well. Tables and floors had garbage and were sticky!! There was no one at the counter to assist anyone, but you could hear everyone having a 'party' in the back. Our cashier came out chewing on something wide mouthed. We've only been to this location a few times and are not familiar with the menu, so we asked three cashier to repeat herself... due to the chewing. She became very frustrated with us to the point that our 4 year old asked why she was so mean!! We get to our table and half our order was missing. Absolutely no help what so ever. I work for doordash and was picking up an order for 8:05. I got here at 7:55 and it is currently 8:15, still no food. Employees are just laughing and talking while there is a line around the store. Employees basically throw your money and food at you and give attitude when I ask for more sauce. When I come for dinner for myself and a friend, they always get it wrong and never got an order right. Never even a difficult order either. Terrible terrible service.
