Been a few years since we have seen a Sonic Drive In. We stumbled on to this one in Morehead city NC on our way back to our hotel from dinner. Opportunity and fond memories of long ago visits with our children beckoned us to stop. I ordered a milkshake and wife a chocolate Sunday although they were tasty my milkshake consisted along with the ice cream about one third whipped cream which was kind of disappointing. Horrible service, cold food!!!! I asked for a simple slushy and a thing of mozzarella sticks i got a medium which should have been 6 and i got 4 plus they were all cold and gave me no sauce, and they gave me the complete wrong drink, ive worked in fast food for 5 years growing up so i understand the struggle but when i went to comment on the food they ignored me and walked away, i went to the drive through and once i said i got the wrong food this lady stopped answering me, the least i wanted was just the right drink. The food wasn't good at all. The burgers weren't as we ordered them. Same with the unsweet tea they gave us a sweet tea. They were giving me a problem with a gift card I had and they made me pay cash. We went online and found out that the gift card Was bought and paid for on May 7 by a family member for my wife's Mother's Day present we were ready to leave and couldn't figure out what was going on, so we finally got online and noticed that they had just taken the funds out the funds on our gift card and they charged me and I started to get a little bit of a problem from them Saying that oh no the card wasn't activated when it was. They said "we can't get that info it's not showing online" and it did, so they were trying to rip me off. It was already paid for the meal with the card and they charged me with saying that it didn't work and they wanted to try and keep my money, well that wasn't happening. I just ordered two iced French vanilla coffees and instead received iced milk mixed with some water. Also I noticed there were no roller skates. Waddup with that? WTS (what the sonic?) Update: waitress offered to replace my iced coffees with another menu item. Apparently this means she is unable to actually make a coffee. So I ordered an ice cream and a blue raspberry slushee. lila or amy was very rude, and let me tell you why. my friends and i were ready to order our scrumptious meal at this wonderful establishment, but we were met with nothing but a sore attitude. as we go to order our food, she says to us "if you want me to hear you, speak into the speaker". in this moment, we were left in a state of shock, as it was said to us in condescending type of tone. we followed the directions. and she proceeds to tell us that we were being quite disrespectful. i'm sorry, but i don't know how. she told us to speak up, so we did....? then she proceeds to hang up on us. #rude #imconfused #reallyamy #reallylila read more

I WON'T BE VISITING THIS SONIC EVER AGAIN! Or ordering a cup of water again! I ordered two Chicago dogs and two cups of ice water. They charge $0.70 per cup of ice water. That's fine! I wasn't complaining too much about that. I poured some of the water in my 3 year old sippy cup and when the waitress came back to the car I asked if I could get a quick re-fill on my water before we leave. She said we don't do re-fills. I said " for water?" She said "Yes" and walked away instantly. I sat there dumb founded! First I had to pay for water that almost all fast food places don't charge for, then I couldn't even get a re-fill on water! Obviously the Sonic manager team hasn't training their employees in the art of customer service and to think like the customer. Tried to order milkshakes and Kat told us the ice cream machine was down. She then said they were short staffed and could order in a couple minutes. Ordered again later and was told we can order milkshakes and just wait for them. Upon finding out we were ordering four milkshakes, the server retracted her statement and said the ice cream machine was broke again. read more

Food was okay; pretty much what you'd expect from a fast food place. We had the Bacon Ranch Lil' Chickies which is a chicken strip on a mini sized hot dog bun. There was barely any sauce on the bun under the chicken (it was all over the top of the chicken in photo) and the chicken strip on one of them was only about 3/8ths the length of the bun but the other one fit. We also had the Chili Cheese Tots which was okay, just a little mushy and tots were unsalted. They should probably make the tots crispier for the orders that get chili & cheese on them but it wasn't too bad. We did wait 8 minutes for the food which seemed a little long for fast food. Be sure to bring cash if you want to tip the carhop because if you pay with a credit card, you get a receipt for yourself but not one to sign and leave a tip on. read more

There's so many things wrong with this I don't know where to begin. Definitely no where close to an old-time drive-in. First, you have to pull up really close to the menu board because you must reach out of your window and push a button to order your food over the speaker. If you stay parked there, the server, who is on skates, can't get close enough to your driver's window to hand you your food so after you push the button and order your food, you have to back out and re-enter your stall to allow more room for the server to serve you. A real poor setup. And if you think the burgers would be good in a old-time burger drive-in, think again. Worst cheeseburger ever. There was so much bun, you couldn't taste the bland burger. The onion rings tasted like they were fried in donut grease. If I wanted my onion rings to taste like a donut, I would just go somewhere and order a donut. However, the strawberry shake did taste good. But I would not go back through all the hassle of ordering and moving my car for just a milkshake. read more

Great sonic, kids love r here and so does the wife. Pretty quick service. Drinks here are great as all locations. I highly recommend the super-sonic cheese burger with jalapeños and the best drink there is the blue raspberry with nerds. For breakfast get the super sonic burrito! Obviously there is a lack of management, every night we come to this sonic they close early. If you google, Facebook anything it says they close at 11pm. Tonight as we pulled up they cut their lights off instantly and refused to serve to us. Beyond rude. I work at a grocery store and I know when we close at 11 we close the doors at 11. Not 10:33. Also not to mention , others were waiting to be served. Which I understand you want to leave your crappy job at 11 but I have been stuck 45 minutes past close before making sure everything is right.
