Ordered two Burritos. The Steak Burritos supposed to come with tater tots. None were in it. They put four on it (says that is the number it comes with). Also the eggs on both burritos were not scrambled as they appear on the ad. They were fried then chopped. Prior to ordering these, I ordered mozzarella sticks and drinks. A pretty standard Sonic in every sense. You drive in, you look like a money trying to move around and read the menu. Sometimes the ordering system is clear and other times I could get a clearer call to India using a cell phone 10 years ago, like most of the other Sonic's I've visited. I usually buy my bags o' ice from them because I like the little cubes they make and they will plop it right into a cooler in the car, convenient! The servers are friendly, the food fast and hot, the drinks cold and tasty. I am glad it is not any closer to my house or I would be there more often than I should - their Strawberry Limades and strawberry limade slushies are addict-able. read more

The food is really good as far as fast food burgers go. Haven't tried the new ones, but their classic foot long chili cheese dog is tasty. They also have tater tots which is a plus for any place in my book. If you're out during the week from 2-4pm stop in for their "happy hour" when drinks are half price (44oz. strawberry slushy for $1!). The service is generally friendly. I'm not sure if this Sonic's location is a blessing or a curse for me. I live fairly close and would probably eat here more if it weren't for the fact that turning left onto Atlantic from here can be a bit difficult if traffic is heavy. Guess my waistline and wallet are probably thankful for that. I'm also not a fan of drive-thru ordering, and even if you walk up that's basically how you still have to order. If you happen to have a coupon, make sure to mention it when ordering or they probably won't accept it. read more

I had to wait over 15 minutes just to order my food (I was asked if I could wait twice, they never came back to me). Then I had to repeat my order 3 times (which I did clearly and slowly). I frequent the Atlantic Ave. location in Raleigh & most times service is pretty good but on National Hamburger Day I purchased a #2 cheese burger (just the burger) but later to discover my debit card was incorrectly charged. Nevertheless, I went online to commented to corporate and was extremely pleased w/their customer service. Within 24 hours I received an email for their corporate office along w/a phone call from Ronnie (DM) which referred me to Donathan (GM) of this location. He was genuinely kind & empathetic for the incident. I was somewhat surprised to experience such customer service. Nowadays, in restaurant business & retail there is no customer service you get what you get. I will continue to patronize this location per it is convenient to my office for lunch. I love the specials they offer during the week along with 1/2 price drinks during happy hour as well as the great customer service. Can't wait until the APP is available. My friend and I used the Sonic App to order some shakes. When we arrived we tried to check in and struggled to do so. After numerous tries I was able to check in my friend however was not. After a few min. the screen prompted me to press the red button because something went wrong. I press the button and no one was there. I waited a few moments and someone eventually came to my car. They asked for my name and my friends name and told us they'd be right back. After about 20 min. no one said anything so I went back into the app once more and re checked in. My order was then placed smoothly and after 5 min. It said someone was coming out with my order. No one showed for another 10 min. FINALLY someone came to my car only to tell me THEY JUST CLEANED THE MACHINE so we were unable to get our shakes. They offered both my friend and I a large slush as a replacement. After another 10 minutes still no sign of a slushee. Another 5 min go by and we finally get the slushees and was told he forgot.... not my best sonic experience. After waiting at a stall, pressing the button twice, and no service, we drove up to the drive thru. I ordered our meals (a combo, a kids meal, and a side item). The wait at the drive thru was long, though the service was friendly. I paid and drove home, only to realize that the main food item in the combo was not included. I was unable to drive back because I had a crying baby in the car who needed a nap, but sent my father with the receipt. He unsuccessfully tried to talk to someone, and ended up just ordering another (and paying for it). The receipt is coded, so I'm not 100% certain if I paid for the combo the first time or not, but it should have been comped either way. I was not impressed with the unattended wait at the stall, longer-than-expected wait in the drive thru, and then incorrect order. I doubt we will ever go back. read more

The staff were very friendly, but the ordering process is brutal. They kept interrupting me, while I was ordering, to ask a question I was literally getting ready answer had they waited. It got to the point I stopped trying to order and just answered questions... It's very frustrating and to top it off they messed up the order, which I'm sure is because my request didn't fit into one of their questions and since they'd already checked all those off they considered themselves done listening. If this is how Sonic likes to take orders, it may be beneficial to allow customers to enter their orders via touchscreen, because I imagine the employees are better at reading than listening. There was a young man dressed up in an Iron Man costume working inside when my 3 year old son saw him he was super excited. I have purchased food from this establishment on many occasions with no problems; however on today I pulled into the stall to order a Coney Dog (which automatically comes with chili & cheese) because of the special $1 price. I stated I wanted a Coney Dog ADD sauerkraut and mustard. The waiter brings the hot dog to the stall with ONLY sauerkraut and mustard. I stated I ordered a Coney Dog ADD sauerkraut and mustard he apologized and went back inside the building. A minute later the MANAGER brings me a Coney Dog with ONLY sauerkraut and mustard which was the exact same WRONG order as the first. I said sir what does your Coney Dog come with? He stated chili and cheese. I said correct and I've asked you all twice to ADD sauerkraut and mustard, that's in addition to the chili and cheese. He aplogized and went off to correct my order. Thirteen yes thirteen minutes later I again pressed the red order button to find out if someone was going to bring my food, then the MANAGER comes out with my order. I went through the Drive threw first, but after 10 minutes of setting there, because they asked if I could hold for a minute, I figured they forgot about me, so I went to a drive up parking spot. I saw that the drive threw customer behind me was already taken care of and received their food well before mine came out. The food arrived and they didn't bring me a drink. I ordered a combo, so I thought that it came with one? I pressed the button again and told her that I never received the drink from my combo, but she wanted to still charge me for one. I have been going to this Sonic for almost 3 years and have watched the service decline. I understand that milkshakes are half price after 8pm during the summer but I still should not have to wait at the drive through window for 10 minutes unless you are milking the cow and making the ice cream in the back. The staff is young and could care less about the customer service aspect of their jobs. Most of them are okay but my most recent experience, how do you repeat my order to me and it's still wrong when you give it to me? They left out some food and then had to wait another 6 minutes to cook it, all the meanwhile my food I already have is getting cool and my milkshake is melting. I think I'm going to start going to the other Sonic in Wake Forest as this one is terrible all around. Even the quality of the food has changed and some days it's good. I have eating here over five times and every time there has been a issue with something. Stupid me keeps stoping there. But I love Sonic drinks. I lived in Sanford NC growing up and I have always loving going to that one. But with this one right down the road it's horrible. One time I stopped in with me family and order a whole meal. It was not until we got our food that they let us know that they could not use cards for payment. And then they just stand there and look me we all stupid like when I said we did have any cash as if money was going magically appear in my wallet. Two different times the drive thru was not working. On every occasion I can think of you have to wait over five mins after pressing the order button before anyone comes over the mic to take your order and there is only three cars in the parking lot. They need a new manger and new up grades on there equipment. Never once have the card swipes worked at the parking area. Never have work. So they have to take my card back into the store to be swiped which I am never comfortable with especially looking at the quality of staff they have working there. read more

I drove forward to waited about 7 minutes to get to the window (the van in front of me drove off, I guess he got tired of waiting). Mayo instead of the mustard I asked for and no onions either, but the kicker was the burger was cold enough the cheese didn't even melt! Tried this Sonic location for a second time. About a year ago I was told that the coupons I received in the mail hadn't started yet. There was only an expiration date on them, not a starting date. Today I tried the drive thru. When I pulled in, there was one car at the pick up window, and one waiting at the order box. I was behind the car at the order box. 15 minutes later the car ahead of me still had not ordered, and the same car at the pick up window was still waiting when I pulled out of the drive through line. Standard Sonic the service was good and the food was hot. My complaints are regarding the malt I ordered. The 'malt' was not properly mixed in, so there were chunks of it in the bottom. Also, there is a difference between whipped cream and non-dairy whipped topping, and 'cool whip' on ice cream is just gross IMO. read more
