When you are from the south and had sonic in the south you would never visit this one. My husband is from Baltimore and has visited sonic initially in the south that he was so happy when we heard sonic was coming to Waldorf. He even said it himself, the taste and level of service is horrible compared the Southern sonics. We went south for 4th of July and I ordered watermelon frozen lemonade. My husband followed my lead when he got back here and said it was horrible... I value my calories and this is another place I won't waste them at. read more

I never have a positive experience at Sonic and I thought trying a new location would change the bad taste they have consistently left in my mouth. For whatever reason the food is never fresh! I'm not sure if they prepare too much food and have it waiting under heat lamps or what but that's what it tastes like. I ordered a chicken tender box with tots but it was more like a box of grease with chicken tenders and tots. It's astonishing that I had been here a good number of times and I can't get a simple chili cheese dog with the works. It gets entered in properly, but it doesn't translate to the people that work in the kitchen. I didn't order my food in a foreign language, so why is it so hard? Management doesn't seem to take these mistakes seriously and instead of presenting themselves and apologizing and making the situation right...they take the cowardice way out and send a coupon by one of the car hops. I've even spoke to the operator, Loren, and he just BS on the phone and didn't even follow up with me (never sent me the gift cards in the mail). I'm over spending my hard earned money here. Went on Saturday & Sunday and thought the wait time was good as this being their first week. we waited 40 mins from driving into the line until we got our food on Saturday. On Sunday I think the wait time might have been 15 but much of that was spent getting our game plan together for our slushie mix as my kids and I are connoisseurs of the slushie world which is why they get 5 stars. I thought the staff did a great job, kudos to the staff outside directing traffic. They all had a hard job to do for their first week, so please be mindful of that. read more

Went mid-day on a Saturday and did call beforehand because of the other reviews as this place had just been open for 2 weeks at the time. There were 6 employees directing traffic. I arrived and there were 4 people ahead of me for the booth (forgot what they called where you drive and park and eat there). A separate line for drive through went by a lot faster, but I wanted the entire experience. I pulled up right behind the line for the booth, but was instructed to take a long drive around a circle and ended up right behind the same car so...not sure what the purpose was for that added field trip around an empty parking lot... Took around 20 minutes from being in line to then ready to order and I took a few minutes to look over the menu and take some pictures for my friend who loves Sonic. Polite server and helped put my jumbled order together and got it right. Close to 10 minutes before food comes out, but that is not really an issue. This is normal for other Sonics 5-10 minutes for food delivery. Food comes out perfect as I ordered and another girl stop by a minute later asking if I needed any sauces or napkins, but I was all set. Got a hamburger, mozzarella sticks and 2 small slushies with nerds candy. Final grade is A- . Points taken off for strange traffic issues and lack of nerds in my drink. Hopefully the traffic issue works itself out as the location gets used to it and I will be asking for extra nerds in my slushie next time. read more

I visited this location at almost midnight. The first impression from the staff I received was through the drive-thru. The teller rushed me through my order and had no professionalism. Next, as I pulled forward to the window, the person came from inside the store took my card with attitude and almost dropped my drink in my hand. It's almost too obvious to understand why this location has a 2-star rating. This place would do some good to get some fresh managerial staff. Perhaps corporate could act like the give a damn and listen to the customers about the place. Maybe then it might turn this place around. read more

COLD/OLD FOOD, BAD SERVICE, This place makes Sonic look really bad. Here's a rundown of our terrible experience. Me & my girlfriend drove about 40 minutes to go visit This Sonic in Waldorf expecting the same A+ Quality as the Sonic down in Fredericksburg. Boy was I mistaken! Employees just standing around talking to each other, Non Sonic employees running to the back area to talk to employees. MUCH MORE BIG MESS! For one the person taking our order "Adelman Carhop" or something like that has a very "I hate my job" attitude. Me & my girlfriend were waiting in line for about 5 minutes, as she calls us up shes like " Sirrrrrrrrr" , and pointed to the front of the line. She took our order and we waited for about 25-30 minutes to receive our food. (Note that their were customers there before us who were still waiting for there food) When we finally received our meal figures they messed up our order. (They also gave us cold and obvisouly not fresh tater tots and fries.) So we go up the register to tell her they messed up our order and that we just want the difference paid back. So the girl (Carhop) rolls her eyes and goes to the back to grab the manager. They both come out and seem to have had a hard time understanding what happened & eventually after clearly dealing with a crappy managed franchise, we just said FORGET IT! Dont worry about it. The manager was nice enough to come to us and hand us a coupon for 2 free meals but I have never been so disgusted with Sonic in my life. I come here for the cherry limeades mostly, and sometimes a shake, because the food doesn't have any flavor in my opinion. I ordered the popcorn chicken and nearly cracked a tooth they were SO HARD. The tater tots had no flavor either. Dunking them in BBQ sauce was the only way I was able to salvage them. My kids on the other hand love their corn dogs! read more

I'm finally just getting around to reviewing this Sonic. The food here in comparable to other Sonics that I have visited. I've been to this location a total of four times and each time, I was impressed with their service. The employees here are very friendly. Always greeted with a smile.....good customer service goes a long way in my book. I'm a slushie junkie so when I go, I order a different one each time. I haven't been let down yet. I also tried the chili dog, the burgers, onion rings and tots. All of those items have been tasty as well. It's nice to finally have a fast food restaurant in the area other than the typical McDonald's and Burger King. read more

So slow it can't be considered fast food. I've gotten chicken sandwiches that are 25% tendon on several occasions. The people that work there could care less whether you get your food or die in a fire. I've stopped going after the last time we got breakfast, we were the only ones their ordering food, and people showed up almost 10 minutes later and they gave them their order before us. We are both Sonic fans, and this was our first time at this location in Waldorf. It was a rainy and drizzly night, so we opted to go inside to order our food. Interior of the place was dirty, trash on the floor tables not wiped down, restrooms - both of them - were dirty. The person taking our order was more focused on things around her than getting our order correct, and we had to go back-and-forth a couple of times to make sure it was what we intended to order. The location is super small. Im not sure if they just built for the money they knew they could get in. I went around 8pm and it was closed. The young boy told it was close because the line was long all day. Like really? Thats the best he could come up with? Chick fil a has long lines all the time and they never close early. Okay, I understand it just opened a few days ago. This place was so small on the inside, seems they should have made a drive thru & two park and order lines. They were fast with my order but the food wasn't all that hot and I was hungry and to have them redo my order oh no I gotta eat! I've eaten at Sonic in Va, Neb and the south and I hate to say it on MY first try it wasn't good. My strawberry/banana shake had a lot of diced bananas in the bottom of my cup, c'mon man blend it. If I could give zero stars I definitely would because the service here is terrible even from the manager on duty at 6:30pm on 1/27/2020 who was caucasian female. She was rude and didn't want to come out to speak to me and I was trying to figure out what the stall number was for drive thru or the counter. She had an employee Torell to tell me call the app people. Then was in the back being disrespectful saying why she hasn't left yet and I don't see the order. They in the back all talking and laughing about the situation instead of figuring out a solution for a paying customer. In so unbelievably disappointed after all the fanfare TV. Commercials. I had an all American hot. An order of "home made" onion rings and a cherry limeade. The food barely had a presence of warm. I was so pleasantly surprised! Usually when I go to Sonic it takes them a while to bring me my food. But yesterday night my food was bought out quick. The burger was fresh with googie melted cheese. The best food item I have ever received at a Sonic. The fries were also warm. I enjoyed my half price strawberry cheese cake shake and was a very happy camper. There's a sonic closer to me but that one is deficient so I drive the extra miles to go to this one cause they're friendly, fast and it's always tasty (and our order is right).
