After not having been here for a long time, I took a chance and went to Sonic for lunch so I could try the limited time grilled cheese burger and broccoli cheese tots. I placed the order for those items, along with a bacon breakfast burrito, on their app six minutes before I arrived. Credit where credit is due. The food was made correctly and was brought out to my car only two minutes after I checked in. There was a lot of seasoning salt on the burger patties, but otherwise everything tasted good. Maybe this is a sign that things have changed since I last visited or maybe I just got super lucky. I hope it's the former, not the latter cause I really do want to like Sonic, especially since this is the last location in the Milwaukee area. read more

I visited Sonic on September 3rd 2026 at 6:02 p.m. and it was one of the worst customer service experience's that I've ever had. I haven't been there in years because of the consistently rude and disrespectful treatment from the staff. I thought I'd give it a shot, so I ordered a couple of burgers from the app.While alerting Sonic to my order in the Drive-Thru, she was immediately hostile and extremely rude to me. She was screaming at the top of her lungs and talking to me like I was trash. She was yelling, hissing, sighing and extremely loud.With each word she got louder and louder. I replied to her that I don't know what I should do at this point because the app said that my order was paid for and confirmed. Then a Caucasian older lady (wearing a baseball cap ) walked outside (still yelling) while saying that they don't have my order. I had to ask here twice what I'm supposed to do from this point because it said that my order was paid for( while she's walking away from me while I'm talking). Then she angrily walk back over to me and pointed at some things that I was supposed to do ( remember this is my first time on the app)then she turned and started to walk back into the building shaking her head, rolling her eyes. I asked if they could put grilled onions on my burger because it wasn't on the app and she screamed yes it is on the app. I quickly said could you put some on my burger I will pay for it and she rolled her eyes again and ignored me and slam the door.Then she came out when I was pushing the red button still argumentative instead of being helpful with my order. She was dismissive and patronizing towards me the entire time. I just don't understand how a business can have a person like that representing them. This can't be the first time this person has done something like this. Disappointment I'd been seeing ads for a banana pudding shake for weeks and got the fam to take a drive after dinner for a treat. Sorry, they stopped serving it last week. (But it was still an option to order on the website) So we made some new picks. I got a peanut butter Oreo shake which was delish. My step daughter got a pb chocolate shake along with a dripping mess with a hole in the bottom of the cup. My wife got a hot fudge sundae and they forgot the fudge. By far the worst drive in experience I've had. I pulled into a stall and pressed the order button, waited, and then the call tone simply stopped. I think they were rejecting my request to order from inside. I tried several times, even moving to a different stall to try, and when I finally got through, it was after waiting for another 10 minutes for a response from a human. I ordered a meal with chicken strips, fries, Texas toast and onion rings. The wait for the meal was over 20 minutes... I had no idea if they just took my money and forgot about making my order, and couldn't come into contact with the kitchen through the sonic box. My friend went to the main counter at the restaurant itself, and while the employees made frequent eye contact with her from across the kitchen, they never approached her or said they would take her order at any point. Meanwhile, my order finally came to the car. However, there were no onion rings, and my Texas toast came unbuttered and unseasoned, and was literally just a microwaved piece of toast. The chicken strips and fries were good, and the drink was fine... but no receipt. I couldn't go to the kitchen and say I was missing things from my order because I couldn't prove I actually bought anything. Not a good experience for my first time at Sonic. In the future I'll elect to enjoy their commercials instead of giving them another chance to serve enjoyable food. read more

So, another place ruined. Went there for lunch. The girl at the drive through was laconic to put it generously. Apathetic and lazy is probably more accurate. Should have been my first clue. I ordered a hot dog an onion rings. So when I got to the drive through window, the same girl looked half asleep. She took my card, ran it and returned my card with drink. She thrust both out in one hand, forcing me to awkwardly clutch it two-handedly or risk having items drop. She offered no assistance. An automated arm would have done similarly. When my hotdog and onion rings came, she similarly thrust the food out in a way that forced awkward handling. I didn't realize passing food through a window was a skill, but she didn't have it. All of this could have been forgiven if the food was good. Well, I can't forgive. The hotdog was lukewarm and the bun was wet and mushy. The bun disintegrated when I tried to pick it up. The onion ring batter is sweet, presumably to be balanced by a generous helping of salt. Perhaps they ran out of salt just this morning. Overall a terrible experience, one I shan't repeat. read more

Worst drivethru experience I've ever had. Order was placed ahead of time via app, there were 2 cars ahead of me and it took 30 minutes. It would have been even longer but since the attendant never responded to me at the speaker, I drove up to the window to find her standing there. Why would she not respond at the speaker??? She initially stated my order was not there. I showed her my app receipt and told her to look again. It was right in front of her. Of course the food was cold but since I was now late for a doctor appointment I needed to leave. While I was in line I tried to flag down a car hop but she looked away immediately and kept walking. Went here chancing it after reading some of the reviews hoping they were just a bad day maybe the employees were having. Nope this location was the worst!! We ordered our food and they had no cherries for their drinks. One of the main reason people go there are for the drinks. We ordered our food. Waited a while in hoping our food would be good. Firstly we ordered the bblt and the bacon was burnt!! Barely any bacon to begin with. It was horrible. Gave us the wrong drink and didn't bring any bbq that I asked for which were on the receipt. The girl with the bad attitude comes Out with the drink I'm like did you by chance bring the bbq she says nothing rolls her eyes and leaves. I never did get that bbq sauce. Then the workers left the speaker box on so you could hear everything being said inside I'm sorry if you hate your job that much just quit. I regretfully need to give Sonic Drive-In 1 star, however If I could give zero stars I would. Lets start by saying it was a nice hot day in Milwaukee which isn't to often these days and I had a huge craving for a signature Sonic slush and a side order of the Cinnebon Bites. I pulled up to the parking lot menu and pushed the button for assistance with my order. I sat in my car staring at the flashing monitor stating someone would be with me shortly to place my order and after sitting for 10 minutes I noticed there were 4 more cars in the lot that was sitting for the same amount of time without being taken care of. I noticed an employee outside and asked if the menu boards were working and the young gentleman said yes and he would send someone out to take my order. After sitting for another 10 minutes I was livid and I decided to try my luck at the drive through lane instead. I sat for five minutes and when no one would take my order I went home sweaty and sticky from sitting in my hot car and was not able to satisfy my craving for a well deserved slush or Cinnebon Bites. They always have their mobile ordering app disables so no one can take advantage of any deals they email to you. If I could give this location a 0 star I would. Yesterday I drove 30 miles to visit this sonic on a whim. I wanted to try the "shark week" slush. There were signs everywhere posted on every hop park, on the walls, drive through sign and windows about them being short staffed and asking for patience. This is the world now, it's not sonics fault. I would wait in that drive through for 35 mins patiently waiting and with the understanding that these employees are doing the best the can. After placing my order and given my total at the menu I drove to the window. The GENERAL MANAGER of this stores location swung the window open in such a blaze of compleat attitude I was taken back and just handed her my card without thinking twice. I knew my total- it was already given to me when i ordered, so I didn't think twice about it. She than rudely handed me two shakes which I immediately noticed were not what I ordered. I sat there at that window for 6 mins waiting for them to come back with my food to notify them of the mix up. In my head this wasn't a big deal. Simply take the shakes back and I'll take the ones I ordered. When she came back to the window I informed her of the accidental mixup and she literally just starts screaming at me. "Did i or did I not read your total! If that wasn't your total why did you give me your card!" I was literally in shock over the entire experience. Generally speaking when I see an employee screaming at a customer I immediately assume they are matching energy. If a customer rudely comes up to some defenseless employee screaming, I pass no judgement for that employee matching the customers energy and getting mouthy back. But there was never a time I had even felt frustrated or angered. To me it was a simple mix up. So for her to just start screaming at me literally shocked me. She proceeds to tell me if I don't take what she's handing me, she will have to issue a refund- the refund will take THIRTY DAYS to post to my account and she'll have to slide my card for another 30 something dollars. I asked if it was possible she just charge me the 6.00 difference so they don't need to worry about refunds ect. I was displeased I'd have to utilize now 55.00 of money for a few shakes and burgers. She starts screaming at me again. Demanding my card to charge the new total. I comply- than ask to speak to a manager. To which she rolls her eyes and slams the window on me. I'm now waiting for what I assume is a manager to speak too- she comes back physically THROWS my card through my window and tells me to leave. I ask for my receipt so I can track the refund- she refuses. I ask for a receipt on the 2nd purchase, she refuses. She's demanding I leave. Yet I haven't even received my entire order. Eventually another employee comes to the window and that's when I was told that woman who was screaming at me as if this was my mistake- was the stores general manager, Tracy I believe he told me. This woman is a wicked brat and has no business being in the fast food business if she finds this behavior appropriate. Never once had I raised my voice, never once did I get frustrated with the mistake. I read your signs Tracy. You asked for patients and I gave it to you. Sonic is one of my favorite go to places for milkshakes. They have amazing happy hour deals, late night deals, and great deals on the app. I believe if you order on the app it's half off shakes and burgers all day. While I love their deals they are out of a lot of ingredients on almost a daily basis. Their strawberry banana shakes are my favorite, but the last couple times I have gone they were out of bananas. The last time I went there they were out of both bananas and strawberries. They already have a limited list for shake flavors, so it's a little disappointing, but when they do have them they are delicious! read more

Meira kept cutting us off when we were trying to order, then after reading our order back to us CORRECTLY, she gave us the wrong drink, we gave it back to have it remade, and were either given the same drink or a new incorrectly made drink. We checked the rest of our order and found 3 more incorrect items. The few bites of our incorrect food we had were inedible and basically wasted and had to be thrown away, what a waste of food and money. This was by far the worst experience I've had with Sonic. Waited AN HOUR AND A HALF for food that was set to be served ASAP. We were waiting and trying to be patient but it got harder as time went on. Not to mention once an hour-ish passed, a notification finally came on the stall saying someone was coming, but after yet ANOTHER 15-20 minutes... nobody came with any of our food and everyone else around us were being served even though they got there after us. (Granted we've been waiting for an hour and a half so people were coming and going with ease except us.) WE HAD IT WITH WAITING. Eventually we go to the drive-thru and complain about the time and food, and the employees customer service was HORRIBLE. Nothing to try and make up for the experience (ex. "Oh I'm so sorry!", "I'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience!" etc) and what's worse: THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE DRINKS MADE! After FINALLY making the *two drinks*, they just closed the window. No "again we are sorry about the inconvenience!", no "thank you and sorry again!" NOTHING. Now as someone who does work in a field for customer service, I know it can get busy, people get caught up, etc. But THIS... the staff's behavior and their actions towards the situation are UNACCEPTABLE. Never trusting the pick-up process again, let alone this particular Sonic. P.S... I know on this specific night, I was not the only one who complained.
