Rolled into town hungry and preparing for early morning flight.. Fueled the rental car and saw this Sonic.. Lets Get it. A speed meal and then some rest. Two negatives in the whole of it... First off, I travel for work quite extensively and as much I roll well prepared for things like this... 1- The order was to go and the carton my burger came in was damn near NOT able to contain it for the few minute ride to my hotel where I ate it. 2- NO utensils were provided nor were napkins... Foul.. Did I mention I am prepared for this? I carry a travel utensil kit and napkins in my EDC Pack. The meal... I ordered the Tripple Smasher sans sauce, sans catsup, sans bun and sans fries.. I added 5 extra smash patties and asked for extra mayo and mustard on the side. What I got... Damn, that was a good and perfectly cooked stack of 8 patties with cheese and standard toppings.. aside from the soggy bottomed carton, absence of utensils and napkins this was a damn fine meal. The crew at this sonic were professional, patient with my modifications and mostly on the ball (did I mention no napkins or utensils? ) I would certainly hit this place for a speed meal again.. I ordered using DoorDash, the prices are already insane which surprised me. But I had my mind set on trying their new burger so I went ahead and ordered it. I then called since I couldn't select marinara anywhere and wanted to make sure they'd be with my cheese sticks I was ensured by a woman on the phone that she would "make sure they're in there!" I'm sure we've all been seeing the ads from sonic and the new "Big Dill meal" made with Grillos pickles. The meal incudes a double OR triple stack cheeseburger, dill seasoned fries OR tots and a "Picklerita" slushee with popping pickles bubbles. My husband, who was in the passenger seat, told me to just go to the website and do an online order. SURPRISE!! They magically had exactly what I had ordered which was the triple dill burger with seasoned tots and the pickle slushy. I feel like they just didn't want to make it or something but STILL you shouldn't LIE to your customers. When I got home I was missing the seasoned crispy cucumbers, the fried pickle chips and lettuce on the burger the only toppings were the pickle ranch and regular pickle chips. The "seasoned" tots left a lot to be desired and the only "impressive" thing about to meal was the slushy. The popping pickle bubbles we really good. I paid around $17 for the whole meal and if I'm paying that much at least include ALL of the ingredients listed in the description. I know I shouldn't expect much from a fast food chain in a college town but as a pregnant woman who latest obsession is pickles, I was extremely disappointed. Very poor communication skills...the girl was asleep or drugged and not paying attention...took me 5 minutes to just place an order for a soda... When she came out it was clear something was wrong...she slurred her words and acted like a zombie. I don't think it was a medical condition. Okay, hear me out... This Sonic experience was genuinely 5 stars. We went for late night sweets and stopped around 9:30 on Thursday. Pushed the button to order and had our order taken immediately. We paid right there and in probably 3 minutes our order came out. We had a reese's blast & a chocolate cookie dough blast. Pro tip: the mediums are pretty big. I can't imagine what the large is!! The mini is probably all you're wanting if you just want a little something, or the small is perfect for dessert. Of course, with that we needed some fries! They were fresh, hot, and crispy. I ordered food on Postmates from here and it took them over an hour to even cook our food. 2 delivery drivers canceled the order because it took so long. Finally came and it was just plain wrong. I ordered a pretzel, they gave me cold and fry fries instead, I ordered the American hot dog, they gave me a foot long hotdog with no toppings at all. Food was wrong and tasted horrible. Postmates won't give me a refund or let me review Sonic on there. Very disappointed. read more

When you think of Sonic, what's the first thing that pops in your mind? Drive-In style atmosphere? Burgers? Tots? The goofy dudes in their commercials from years ago? Yeah...I could see all of those answers showing up on the Family Feud board. But what about breakfast? Me, neither. But...this is what the Mrs. wanted to try on a Sunday morning and so we did. We arrived and placed our order through the Sonic app, entered our "stall' number and waited about 7 mins for a piping hot and aromatic Sonic breakfast. The Sonic roller girl, sans skates, was very friendly, quick, courteous and even kind enough to let me snap a pic of her delivering our food. All done with a smile. Well done. The tots and sausage breakfast burrito were both very good...tots moreso than the burrito, though. The burrito had about 4 or 5 small pieces of sausage so you did not have that flavor in each bite. The fluffy, folded egg and melted cheese were great, as was the added onion and zesty sauce, but it just lacked in the protein department. Had there been a bit more of that semi-spicy meat in the burrito, this could have been fantastic. Overall, I've always enjoyed stopping at this Sonic. They're never a chain that immediately pops in my mind when I think "fast food" but they always seem to be consistently good when we do stop there. The surrounding stalls and digital ordering walls weren't spotless with some spots and stains on the screen plus some minor trash on the ground, but it wasn't an eye sore or a dump, by any means. I wish I could rate the food here, but I can't. We came here for shakes and I can't even rate those because we never go them. We ordered two small shakes...THATS IT. Waited 25 minutes, and ended up leaving because the wait was just absurd. There were maybe 5 cars here and cars that came in after us were getting their orders filled and delivered before us. We waited 10 minutes after receiving the "Darius is on his way with your order" notification, but Darius never came... Never been to sonic before and for this to be the first experience sucks. I'll start out saying that the woman who brought my food was very nice. The food was delivered pretty quickly and the food was hot. I have nothing negative to say about the service, or about this specific location (although there were several "stalls" (their label) that were out of service as indicated by being taped off a-la caution tape. But the food: ugh! The bacon cheeseburger melt I got was too full of condiments, so you couldn't even really taste the hamburger or bacon. It was sloppy, a mess, but not because it was juicy. It was almost slimy! The onion rings were super hot when I got them, and the right amount of crunchy. But that's the end of the compliments. The oil they use imparts a sweet, all encompassing single flavor to everything they fry in it. They could fry literally anything in it and it would taste the same. And that flavor is BAD. I had one onion ring, and couldn't continue. It's like they made a billion carnival funnel cakes and dumped a gallon of syrup in the oil. Blech. The Coke I ordered was fine, but they put ice to the top of the cup. My 20 ounce Coke might've had 10 ounces at most. This was the second time I've eaten at Sonic. The first was at LEAST 10 years ago, probably closer to 15 years ago. I forgot that the fried food was inedible. And the burger wasn't the worst thing I've eaten, but FAR from even average tastiness. I'd rather eat ANY other fast food burger (EXCEPT for White Castle: that is grey cardboard- so you did beat their burger- but not fries). Summing up: VERY nice staff. VERY BAD FOOD. read more

Yikes! I am a polite person and I am blown away by my previous experience at Sonic! The manager Christy or Chrissy, disrespected me to my face and rudely turned me away. This was a confusing experience because I did nothing wrong and had not been disrespectful to anyone. Multiple associates working this evening and the manager, have no right to work in the service industry or customer service. This all began over a wait time that should have never occurred. The stall was broken and when we asked for assistance we were told that we were (explicit)! I couldn't believe this actually happened but it did at the Wilmington Sonic off Market Street. Been to this @SonicDriveIn while waiting for the movies. Last time I went they screwed up the order. The burger that I ordered was missing toppings, and they had to remake it. And then got my order and it was wrong... took 15 min to get the order the first time with it not being very busy. Then no response when pushing button.... manager was very nice who brought one of the menu items that was messed up. But the other two ladies were not pleasant to deal with. I'm sad everyone had such bad experiences here!!! Well, to be fair I was there at 8am and I was the only one in the parking lot. I wanted lunch for breakfast and the guy on the speaker was so nice and explained that the full menu was served all day, which I was so pumped about because I wanted mozzarella sticks for breakfast. Since I got a sandwich and mozzarella sticks and a drink he put it in a combo for me so I saved money and when he came out he was really friendly. The food was awesome, really hit the spot! I placed an online order which the store couldn't fulfill. The problem is they wouldn't refund my money and I had to call a corporate number to get my refund which took close to 15 minutes. They also didn't bother to bring the rest of the food that I had ordered or offer any beverage alternatives. I'm sitting here in in the stall at Sonic (thirsty) and now I have to check back in 5 business days to see if I got my money back. That's 45 minutes of my time when all I wanted was some refreshment. After seeing the most recent review I decided to give my two cents. Before I moved to Wilmington I loved Sonic. I would drive over an hour to the nearest one. I went a couple of times after moving here and the service was ok. Not great, but not the worst. Then one day I went after work. I placed my order and waited. And waited. After 30 minutes I pressed the button and they assured me my food was on its way. Another 30 minutes passed. I finally just left without my food. Sonic offers day-of-the-week specials, right now they have a chicken strip combo meal for $5 on every sunday. They fail to mention on their menu board their operating hours on Sunday, or for any other day, so I drove 15 miles to a closed store to try to get their Sunday exclusive deal. Half the time I visit my fries are barely warm and very soggy and the cost is much higher than comparable restaurants. Not worth gambling whether or not they'll be open anymore when I can't find their hours posted anywhere on their store. read more

Worst Sonic I've ever been too. I've tried going about 3 or 4 times since living in town the last two years and every time, literally every time, they get my order wrong. When I say I want no mayo, I get no pickles! My server once dropped my food and we waited almost an hour for it to be remade and delivered. Apparently they literally forgot about us.
