Normally I like sonic, but me and my coworkers came to this one while on our break. We had to use the middle kiosks because our van couldn't fit into the parking spaces. That was fine since we knew they had a kiosk for "walk-in customers". The problem arose when we found out that the kiosks wouldn't take cards (I guess they were broken. And the workers ignored us for the better part of 10 minutes. I'm not here to try to destroy Sonic's reputation but I expected better. read more

The car in front of us at the drive-thru was in an argument with the person taking their order... both were so loud that I could clearly hear every word from my car. After 4x of the patrons saying that they wanted a "mayonnaise only" burger and the employee repeating back "no mayp" the patrons got so frustrated that she just said nevermin and drove off. Then I pulled up and ordered an egg and bacon burrito. When it came it had paper on the inside of the burrito that had been dipped in some kind of oil. My only guess is that they thought I was the previous patron and I received some kind of retaliation meal. Scary. This place is great when you have a dog/puppy for an outside place to eat. Clean picnic tables are available. It's easy to order from the outside where a very large menu is available and it's wheelchair accessible. The speaker is nice and clear we ordered cheesesteak subs and shakes, onion rings and fries. The cheesesteak was tasty but had no extras like lettuce or tomato. Still it was full of the steak and cheese and the sun roll was soft. If I could give zero stars for this place I would! I have left this place on more than one occasion after sitting in line for too long, but tonight was just too much. We sat in line waiting for a space for about 5 minutes which was no big deal...it's fine. Once we finally got in a space, we pushed the button to order and sat for 25 minutes just WAITING for our order to be taken!!!!! And it NEVER was!!!! Two young workers walked out, cell phones in their hands to to take a break...but we couldn't get service. Then we had to wait another 10 minutes for a car to move in the drive thru to even get out! It's a Sonic. The burger was very good and half price since it was Tuesday. The boneless honey BBQ wings were excellent. I love the cherry limeade and my son raved about the Reese's banana custard​ concrete. The service was average, not the quickest but not really slow. It's Sonic - you can't go wrong. Now I'll admit I'm from Texas and Sonic is a given stop there, especially for their beverages. Best fountain drinks! They're made with filtered water and this gives then the cleanest, freshest taste. Even a plain ol Coke or Dr Pepper tastes better. The food, at this location, was not worthy of a five star rating. Good, but not quite the same as the Sonics in Dallas. Adding to that, I waited 10 minutes for a sausage toaster and iced tea - at 3:30pm. Not crowded, just slow. Still, its Sonic!!!! I hope they will open a franchise closer to me someday. Purcellville is just screaming for a Sonic. With the worst McDonalds ever as the only competition, Sonic could take in the money. Bad from start to finish. Whomever was on the headset provided lackluster customer service and rushed me and my party to order. "ANYTHING ELSE ANYTHING ELSE" is not making me want to spend more $ with the company. First SONIC I have been to in over five years, the last one being in Florida, the first time in the Mid-Atlantic... Sampled the menu. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was dry. Wife had the chicken nuggets that were chicken breast pieces and were pretty good. The onion rings were also pretty good. The jalepeno poppers were also very good. The tab came to ~$13.50 without drinks (we had some in the car). That's getting a bit rich for my fast food budget. I also added a $2 tip for service (brought to care in about three minutes). I recall their specialty is milkshakes, so I plan to try one next time. They also have ice cream for about $1. Check out their value menu. That might keep your total under $10 for two. read more

Ah, Sonic... how I missed you when I moved back to Maryland. What makes you so much better than other fast food joints? Maybe it's the fact you have tater tots, especially smothered in chili and cheese. It could be that you have hot dogs, Coney Island style, also covered in chili and cheese. Perhaps it's your fruit slushes, so much more refreshing than a soda. Or maybe it's the nostalgic experience of parking, ordering from the intercom, and having servers deliver your food to your car. Regardless, Sonic is one of my favorite fast food restaurants... when there's one around. So, how is this Sonic doing in Winchester? I've eaten here several times as we have family in this area and I've enjoyed every visit. The food is good (although still just fast food), the servers are friendly, and the experience is A-OK. This last visit we even had them accidentally give us the wrong burger, which they promptly came right out, took it back, and brought us a fresh replacement without any issue. If you're feenin' for some Sonic and you're in the Winchester area, then stop on in. This place will fill you up and is perfect when the weather is nice and you just want to park and eat. read more

I wanted to add my review since so many below are bad. My husband and I went to this location today and was pleased with service, wait time, and food. We waited approx. 1.5 minutes after pressing button to order; food came out within 7 minutes and the server was nice. There was no line in the drive through and the bathrooms were in fair condition. The food was good and tasted as expected and the prices were reasonable. We usually go to the location on JDH in Fredericksburg, VA but did not want to wait in traffic on this Labor Day Sunday so we went to the closer location and was pleased. For those who have tried this location before and wasn't satisfied, I would say give it another try. read more

Disappointing. Burgers had a lot of gristly bits in the patties, and hot dogs had a odd metallic taste. As noted in tip above, their onion rings are made with sweet onions, which, while not bad, are an acquired taste. Overall, with Fosters across the parking lot and 5 Guys about half a mile away, I'd give this one a miss. The roller skating teen carhops are fun to watch, but the food is pretty sub-par even for Sonic's niche in the food chain. read more

Tried this on Sunday afternoon. Fast service, have diet Dr. Pepper too, interesting menu of shakes we may try later. We were too hungry to make an exploration ofthe menu, just got double cheese burgers, onion rings, mozzarella sticks. Outrageously too salty!! Sticks blah, onion rings perfect. Well put together burger except for the silly chopped white onions, they mostly fall out into your lap. I will send it back next time, two days salt in one meal. This is the first review I've written, but we had such a negative experience I feel compelled to write. My son ordered a cheesy bacon pretzel dog. We received a hotdog with a minimal dab of cheese and a few pieces of charred bacon. When we pointed out to the server how different this was from the picture in the menu, he kindly apologized and took it back. Twenty minutes later - after everyone else already finished their food - they sent sometime out with the new order... It looked identical to the first one: a smattering of cheese and charred bacon. The other meals were fine, although the grilled chicken was hard and chewy, and had barely two tiny pieces of lettuce. The worst part were the bathrooms, which were downright gross. I didn't expect a spotless restroom but this one had spills, a filthy door, and looked like it needed a serious wipe down. My husband, who works in the restaurant industry, said it would never pass health inspection in this condition. We have been to other Sonic restaurants previously and the experience was fine, but this one leaves a lot of room for improvement. We do not plan to return. read more

Absolutely disgusting! Miserable wait times and unbelievably slow service. These are all words I would use to describe my experience there tonight. My child wanted ice cream, so we swung into Sonic. Never again! We first pulled up to one of the order Stations and it was "out of order", so I went thru their "drive thru"......waited over 20 minutes in their drive thru section (which I thought may be faster than parking!) for 3 sundaes. The girl working the window stopped to clean the floors before she ever started making our sundaes. They made one, took a break, talked, then made another, took a break, did God knows what - all while I awkwardly sat in the car watching all of this through the drive thru pay window. Then she FINALLY started to make the last sundae,which was a hot fudge sundae....the person making it got a plastic cup, went over to a dirty sink area for an unGodly amount of time and then reappeared with the plastic dish filled with a small amount of chocolate then put ice cream in it and disappeared again, went to talk to her coworkers, then handed off this "half filled hot fudge ice cream cup" to another guy, who then took another 5 minutes to put whipped cream on it....then he talked to this girl who was originally making the Sundaes, they looked over at my car and laughed and then he walked over to the window and stared at me and said "here". I was grossed out - what did they do to the last Sundae is beyond me? They were clearly up to something and it was the weirdest, grossest and infuriating experience I've encountered for ice cream to date. Of course I'm upset about wasting money, but more upset to be taken advantage of and wasting my hard earned money and time. read more
