Really cute setup for covid. The only downside is they are really strict with their 90 min seating. Seats are heated. It's small so if your okay with the seating arrangement then it's fine. We ordered the fries which were good. I think they are flavored with a bit of yellow curry powder. The burrata toast was really tasty and we also shared the burger and cheesecake. All the food was really good and during happy hour the price is right. I would def return here for a casual good meal. Another just beautiful gowns restaurant for me.... this one was more disappointing as I received a lot or recommendations to eat here. However, I was left very unimpressed. It was very crowded when we first arrived so I was extremely excited to try it. We waited about 40 minutes for an outside table and it was next to like a sewer or something and it smelt disgusting. Our waiter was very dismissive and when he brought our waters out, the cups were extremely dirty. We ordered their ricotta pancake and kale caesar salad (added halloumi). Both were extremely below average. The pancake was literally cold and maybe it does have good flavor, but I've had better. The salad was dry and boring and for $17 was super basic. All the food felt super overpriced and lackluster. I honestly just really didn't enjoy this meal at all, and in good faith could not recommend this place to anyone. This is a great place for brunch. Don't be intimidated by the fact it appears to be frequented almost exclusively by skinny girls in their 20s. The food here is not just social media friendly; it's actually quite good! Came here for Australia Day and definitely had a blast. They had a pre-fix menu for the day! Started out with the cashew beet dip and vegetables- the dip was amazing! If you love beet, you will definitely like it. Next, we got the half shelled prawns with brown butter crumbs- yummy! The crumbs were so good and added a lot of flavor to the prawns aka shrimp. For our entree, we got the chicken parm covered with ham on a bed of fries topped with chicken salt. It was delicious! You could tell that the ham was a quality ham. Lastly, we got the golden gate for dessert- I wasn't a big fan! It missed the spot and even my friends from Australia said it wasn't how the authentic one tastes. The hotcake is as good as it looks! It's thick, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fruit compote adds the perfect tartness to what is normally a very sweet dish. The portion is shareable. The burrito was okay - far from authentic but good for an Australian place. I stopped by on a weekend with my boyfriend and waited 45 minutes. We got a snack at a local restaurant because we were so hungry and came back once we got the text that our table was ready. The indoors is cute with fun art on the walls. Wow! Came here for brunch on Sunday around 12:30PM. No reservation, but we were able to snag two seats at the bar, no wait (not sure what the wait would have been for a table). The place was filled but not overly crowded. I had a cold brew and bloody mary to drink; my sister and I split the harissa eggs and ricotta hot cake. The food came out SUPER fast - it actually beat the drinks! The cold brew and bloody mary were delicious (and I can definitely be picky about my bloodys). The harissa egg came on a delicious piece of bread, with a sides of avocado, arugula, fennel, and roasted red cherry peppers. The combo of everything was awesome, all the veggies helped to lighten the flavor and prevented it from being a super heavy egg dish. Did i mention how amazing the bread was?! The ricotta hot cake was this fatty almost cornbread like pancake with a perhaps unreasonable amount of butter on top. The best part was the berry compote - really adds to the dish. The wait was over an hour long for Saturday brunch at 11. To compensate, our waitor got us drinks on the house. Inside, the spot is cramped, yet inviting and warm. We ordered three heavy hitters and tasted a little of everything: hotcake, which was every bit amazing with lemon zest and maple syrup, smashed avocado with egg sprinkled generously with feta cheese, and burrata fig toast. The fig toast was my favorite. The sweetness from the hot honey, creaminess from the burrata, and softness from the figs were perfect when paired together with crisp sourdough. Sonnyboy is literally across the street from my apartment. Sometimes I look out my balcony (not trying to sound like a creep), and there's always people here, regardless of hour or weather. I've always heard many good things about their brunch so I was intrigued. I came here with a bunch of friends from SF on a Saturday noon. We got on yelp's waitlist which was super convenient. As we were seated, staff was super friendly in asking us what we wanted to drink. Food- I ordered the Harissa Folded Egg + grilled chicken on the side (their signature) and my friends got the crispy chicken sandwich. The harissa egg was super soft and flavorful. There was a kick to the peppers but it set a nice spicy balance. It was wonderfully delicious. My friends thought the crispy chicken was slightly on the crispier side, but overall was decent. Price is on the higher end as my dish came out to be $26!!! LOL just take my money, New York!!! Overall, good experience. So what does all-day Australian style brunch look like? Well, this apparently! One of the few places that is open for breakfast before 11AM in the sleepy town that is NYC, this charming spot offered an exciting brunch menu speckled with unique twists on familiar favorites, including avocado toast with feta, parsley & pistachios, or falafel paired with goat cheese. Everything was tasty, fresh, brightly colored, and flavorful. While the Asian-style miso dressing and the contents of the veggie bowl were delicious; it lacked some points in the "heartiness" department. It was missing the avocado listed on the menu description, and the quinoa was sparse. While I love my seasonal veggies, I was left craving something that "stuck to my bones." I would love to see them add more quinoa, or even a nice vegan hash brown or biscuit involved to make this $15 feel like more than 70% water content. The vegetables were all fresh and bright, and the poached egg executed perfectly. I was just left feeling hungry! The brunch roll my husband found to a nice homage to the iconic jersey pork roll, but with a @sonnyboy_nyc twist; eggs were cooked perfectly, seasoned well and the brioche bun was fresh and soft. Easy place for a good breakfast. I was staying in the area and stopped for breakfast before a day of City wildernesses exploration. I chose the ham and cheese sandwich and my friend got the chicken sandwich. I really liked their choice of bread, and how crispy my sandwich was. The chicken sandwich was pretty good too. The mimosas were a bit strong on orange juice - maybe we can call this citrusflation, where the business does not increase the price of the mimosas but reduces the volume of champagne. Randomly stumbled across this brunch option and was left very satisfied. The wait was a little over half an hour on Saturday around 11, so we went to a nearby coffee shop. The food was all excellent! The harissa folded eggs were great, well executed and flavorful. The hotcake was awesome and exactly what I wanted, though I wish I had asked for the syrup on the side (it was too sweet and drenched). The avocado toast was a hit. If you order bacon and prefer that it's crispy, you should request it that way. They default to making the bacon soggy and fatty here. Crowded seating, so you're sitting elbow to elbow. My only complaint is that the yelp waitlist feature was NOT working. When we came down it said there was zero wait at 11am, and it wasn't until about 2 minutes before we walked up that suddenly the Yelp waitlist estimated around 45 minutes. I came here for dinner with friends and had a great experience. We dined outside, which the restaurant has a great location for, being on a quiet street. Unfortunately there were no heat lamps near us, but they did have some available at other tables. In terms of the food, Sonnyboy didn't disappoint. For appetizers, we split the rosemary fingerling potatoes and the brussels sprouts- both delicious, especially the herb aioli that came with the potatoes. For a main, I got the falafel bowl, which I would highly recommend! The falafel was hot and fresh, and came with a sweet and colorful beet dip. We had to put our name down and wait about an hour, but we walked around the neighborhood until we got a text (at least they take cell numbers, unlike some places!). The atmosphere is bright and airy with one whole wall made up of windows, but the location is pretty small (hence, the wait). I ordered the harissa folded eggs, which came with yummy, buttery toast and a delicious salad with spicy, sweet peppers in it. The salad may have been even better than the eggs! My boyfriend ordered the hotcake (what is the difference between a pancake and a hotcake anyway?! an excuse to give you just one as opposed to three?) and enjoyed it. Sonnyboy is an Australian spot specializing in brunch that I've been meaning to try out. I've heard so many good things about their harissa folder eggs that I was daydreaming about them the entire bike ride there. We came early to mid afternoon on a Sunday, and were told the wait would be half an hour for two. Fortunately we got called in fifteen minutes later, after refreshing some of my favorite Lower East haunts, though it was aspirational -- the table we were going to slide in after ended up taking longer than expected to actually furnish the check, so the overall wait for an outdoor table ended up being that half hour, maybe even longer. Worth it, though, for the food. Friend and I both got the harissa folded eggs; I added on the sourdough toast and he added the toast and mushrooms. The dish comes with pickled red peppers, salad, avocado, and bacon; you can also request hot sauce, which I lavished generously. The eggs themselves were so lovely and I am obsessed, entirely, with the texture. Its accompaniments made for a diverse palate, both in taste and in color, but honestly, I would have been just as satisfied, perhaps more, with just a double portion of those eggs. I also ordered a chai latte, which was sweet and delicious, and my friend had an espresso tonic -- he'd had one before and enjoyed it, and we found out from the waitress it happened to be the first day that was on the menu. I'd not expected that combination in a drink but it was an interesting mix of bitter espresso and sour-sweet citrus and tonic. Not my preferred, but good to try once and definitely not just an expectation of watered down coffee.
