I came to Two Hands Tribeca for lunch and overall had a good experience. When we arrived, we had to wait a few minutes for our table to be set up, but once it was ready we were seated quickly. The restaurant is fairly small, so be prepared for a tight squeeze and to be sitting quite close to the people around you. The staff brought water to the table right away, and I ordered the Brassicas Bowl with chicken along with their special orange latte. The food arrived relatively quickly, although surprisingly the drinks took longer than the meal. The chicken was definitely the highlight of the dish. It was well-marinated, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I also enjoyed the boiled egg on top, though I personally would have preferred it a little runnier because it was closer to hard-boiled. The hummus was a great addition and paired really well with the chicken. The Brussels sprouts were good but could have used a bit more seasoning or flavor. The orange latte was enjoyable, but I didn't get much of the orange flavor and found it to be more of a standard latte. We were celebrating a birthday, and the staff kindly brought out a slice of banana bread for us. It was absolutely delicious, so much so that I asked for the recipe. Our server said she would get it for me, but after about 15 minutes she never returned. We then asked another staff member, who brushed off the request. If it weren't possible to give teh recipe I would completely understand, but the fact that we were kept waiting with the expectation of the recipe being given. After that, we decided to leave. Loved the interior design, wooden tables with white brick walls and greenery throughout. Definitely a "home grown" vibe which is what they tout on their website. The menu is an eclectic mix of proteins and veggies and is bound to have something for everyone. Clean, simple ingredients without too much embellishment. I've tried pretty much everything over my last three visits and these are my favorites: Banana Walnut Bread - This is easily the most delicious and notable item on the menu in my opinion and it's not even a main dish. While the banana bread itself is moist and decadent, it's the espresso mascarpone and honey drizzle that absolutely take this one over the top. I could probably eat two or three of these - even though it's a decent sized portion. You MUST get this if you come here! Tomato Toast - Classic example of simple and high quality ingredients speaking for themselves. A super thick slice of toasted sourdough with cheesy spread is topped with a runny poached egg, tomato relish and prosciutto. Totally balanced and totally scrumptious. The presentation is impeccable too Steak & Egg - Standard steak and eggs, but the real star of the dish is their uber crispy hash and tangy anchovy dressing. The greens go well and it's not too heavy, but definitely filling Lemon Poppyseed Waffle - This is exactly as it sounds. Imagine a lemon poppyseed muffin pressed into waffle form with a sweet mascarpone cream, strawberries and syrup. I thought it was pretty good (and I love lemon poppyseed), but for me, it didn't beat the Banana Walnut Bread Salmon Quinoa Bowl - Colorful! One of the pricier options on the menu ($25), but comes with very fresh ingredients, lots of veggies and solid flavors. I love that you can add a wide range of sides or extras to your meal ranging from just an egg or hash brown to whole salmon filets or steaks (5 oz), depending on how hungry you are Two Hands gets full marks on taste and execution from me.
