His service was excellent. Really nice and funny dude. He recommended we try the BBQ pork egg rolls as appetizer. They were DELICIOUS. Very crispy too. The egg roll had lots of bbq pork inside with Coleslaw. For our entree we ordered a platter with baby back ribs, sliced brisket, bbq beans, coleslaw, garlic bread and Mac & cheese. The bbq beans were soooooooo freaking good. The baby back ribs barely had meat on them but they were still good. Loved the 4 different types of bbq sauce they had on the table. After an afternoon of day drinking in the Keys, and before hitting the Turnpike, I enjoy stopping in to Sonny's BBQ in Florida City. It has a convenient location, hearty portions of good (not "great") comfort food, very reasonable prices, and Tesla superchargers in the parking lot (!) On my last visit, the server was extremely friendly and competent. I had the "Pork 3 Ways" with corn on the cob, coleslaw, cornbread and fried pickles. First time ordering Sonny's for delivery and just ordering there food in general and this has to be in my honest opinion the BEST BBQ IN MIAMI. No other place can compare.. the way the food is packed to the amount they give you and the taste is what bbq should always taste like. There brisket does not have too much fat which is how I like it, the BABY BACK RIBS ARE MY FAV! I also love how you can chose your own sauce to go on them. We had such a great experience at Sonny's! Our waiter (Eliecer) was amazing. He was so nice and professional. He definitely made the experience much better. Most of us that went was our first time and he made us feel welcomed. He was very professional and fast! We didn't even have to ask to get refills he was on it! Our food was great ! Fried pickles were a 10/10. The mac and cheese was also a 10/10. The Cuban Sandwich was also very good. Everything was really good the only thing that made me give a 4 out of 5 was the St. Luis Ribs. Our Father's Day BBQ feast was worth the drive south and a huge hit with everyone in our family! We picked up a couple of Family Meals (4 meats and 5 sides). Our group of 12 people ate seconds and we had awesome left overs. Sonny's is our go-to BBQ. Super well priced for delicious meat and service. It was a glorious cheat day with the amount of food given at this bbq joint. Absolutely delicious! I would make the drive a thousand times over just to try their ribs and brisket. Came off the bone like melted butter. The brisket was tender, juicy and cooked well compared to several other bbq joints I've tried. First of all, the cornbread was tasty and moist (I have no other word to describe it). Spongy, like a cake. The point is that I payed for extra for a reason. The family platter (which we ordered to go) comes with a whole baked chicken, brisket, pull pork and ribs. The sides we ordered were Mac and cheese (definitely recommend), beans and coleslaw. I believe you do have the option to choose from other sides as well. They have several options of bbq sauces for your meal and will give you a generous amount when taken to go. Comes with four pieces of cornbread (we ordered extra) and four fountain drinks. I did not personally dine in at the establishment, however I can tell you that the inside gives off a spacious, comfy vibe. They have an outside seating area for those who are still wary of COVID-19. The next time I go, I will certainly love to experience dining in and try out different dishes from their menu. We stopped in for a fast dinner after visiting Everglades National Park. We had to get back up north and they certainly did serve us quickly. I used to be a frequent visitor of this chain when there used to be one near my house but it has long since closed. Periodically I'll run into one and it will evoke fond memories of their sweet sauce that will make me want to stop. For dinner my daughter had the baby back rib plate. Although meaty the ribs aren't fall off the bone tender like I prefer so I chose the brisket. It was very fatty and because we were on a tight time schedule I didn't want to send it back. My sides were the fries (frozen crinkle cut) and coleslaw. My daughter had a sweet potato and corn on the cob. Both dinners came with Texas toast which I love. This was clean if basic location. Our waitress was very sweet. When we told her my daughter still had a three hour drive she really worked to get our food to us. If I'm at Sonny's I have to have sweet tea. We grabbed a table and they are doing a great job with the social distancing, every other table had a sign and taped off so guaranteed space between tables. The smell of bbq is intoxicating!
