Went to Sonny's for dinner. Was seated right away and the waitress Erin came over right away and took our drink orders and answered some questions on the menu. Erin was very nice and attentive and continually checked on us through our meal to ensure everything was good and and if we needed anything, the ribs were excellent and the sides were even better. I went to this restaurant last week and ordered a draft beer before my dinner was told that I could not have draft beer because they had no glasses. I said what do you mean you don't have any glasses she said we only have eight for the whole restaurant so I left because the bottled beer was hot. I attempted to go back a week later today and order a draft beer again still no glasses so I left and called and asked to speak to a manager. Her name was either Lori or Laura. I told her how unhappy I was and that I didn't understand how a restaurant that busy can't serve draft beer because they don't have any glasses and she hung up the phone on me instead of trying to remedy the situation , and then when I called back, she didn't answer the phone management and the kitchen is filthy. I said the bar inside the kitchen. I will never go back to that nasty establishment. read more

We like Sonny's and across the southeast we've always been able to count on consistency between locations until now. We arrive around 6:30pm last night and the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full, but something prevented the hostess from seating guests as they came in and we were crowded in the front hostess area with about 12 other people and no one was being seated. I'd say we stood there about 10 minutes before we were finally seated. Once seated it took another 10 minutes or so for our waitress to come by. By then we were definitely ready to place not only our drink order but also our food. Our drinks and corn nugget appetizer came out quickly but then the waitress came back to say the computer lost our entree orders and we had to give her the order once again. Once the food came out it was all pretty good with the exception of the ribs. I've never had ribs as tough and chewy as these were. Definitely not something I'd recommend but the rest of the meats were pretty good. Our waitress didn't stop back by for refills or to see how we were doing until we were pretty much done eating. Our whole "experience" at this location took over an hour and again, the place was maybe 1/3 to 1/2 full. Speed of service and horrible ribs are what warranted this 2-star review. We'll continue dining at other locations but probably won't try this one again. read more

We read the online menu and I said Redneck egg rolls and my Thought was no that sounds horrible. We went to pick up Our food which was done on time, Got home and realized my sister had ordered the redneck egg-rolls. I felt compelled to try them and with the first bite that melted in my mouth I looked at her and said oh my gosh that is amazing. She then tried one and we were both in food heaven. Thinking they needed time to finish, I waited 25 minutes. I went inside and it was sitting on the shelf waiting. Why tell me to text if you aren't going to actually bring it out?! They requested sauce was wrong. No utensils, no straw. Food was cold. Egg rolls were so over cooked we couldn't eat them. This is not the kind of thing I expect from Sonny's. Ordered around closing, got there on time, they didn't come outside to give me the food, went in and got my "Half-rack of ribs" and didn't check it until I got home. Went back there again, 2:30pm on Tuesday, Aug 14, 2018. Very light crowd. We had the Redneck Eggrolls again, I had the sliced brisket with a sides of baked beans, coleslaw, garlic Texas Toast and mac & cheese. My wife had the Sweet Carolina Sandwich (Pulled Pork topped with homemade coleslaw and Sonny's Signature Carolina Sauce on a bun). Eggrolls were served at 2:36 and the entrees served at 2:45. Sweet. Ok so we're do I start! Walked in that the person seating was not really happy with her job, you can tell. Got our food. I ordered a half of dark meat chicken and half ribs and I think the chicken was a hen it was that small and I am not exaggerating. My wife had a sweet potato that looked like it was sitting for a few hours. The chicken was dry and my baby back ribs were burnt and they tasted burnt! My wife got St Luis Ribs and they were dry and had no flavor. My wife first ordered a pulled chicken sandwich. The waitress came back a few minutes later and said they had no pulled chicken, I find this really strange, they deal with chicken and ribs. You mean to tell me they don't pull the chicken off the bone for sandwiches, so that tells me it comes already prepared. Overall, don't waste you time or money, it is not like it used to be, Inverness was way better. A customer two tables away got his meal what a plastic rapper in this food, come on how can you miss that, bad food and over priced, never again. This Sonny's was by the far the absolute worst Sonny's I've put my foot on. After a long day at the hospital BBQ sounded good. Mind you we passed PLENTY of BBQ places along the way like circle S bbq and the bbq pits on the side of the road that we could have stopped at. We choose Sonny's because we prefer Sonny's and drive 30 mins out of the way to get it. We sat down and 15 mins went by no service no hello from our waiter whoever that might have been because she never came by I don't know who it even was. 15 mins of no drinks nothing. I got up and walked out the door. The man who was working the station at you walked through the door noticed that we got up From the table and said no one came by to help you? So he obviously knew we waited a long time. My final straw to leaving was the family that came in after us already had drinks at their table and their order started. It wasn't busy there, it wasn't a rush or packed at all. I went down to I hop and had stellar service from IHOP. It took all of 15 to order and eat my food from there. Very disappointing. read more

There is a Sonny's BBQ that hubby and I frequent near our home. The ribs have fantastic flavor (I love the sweet, saucy ribs). The salad bar is amazing. Everything is just high quality. During our visit to this particular Sonny's, I really appreciated the variety they had on their salad bar. Sometimes, a salad bar can be undesirable if ingredients get mixed together, etc. but this one was top notch. Very clean. They were also running a special on adding a half slab of baby back ribs for $5 to any meal. With what I had left, there was another entire meal to take home! You can't go wrong with Sonny's. Since the remodel and covid a revolving door of less then caring/professional staff. With previous experience, I don't invite anyone to join me, table service not so good. We go here every few weeks and have always had a great meal. Their salad buffet is the largest and best in the area. The baby back ribs are wonderful as is the pulled pork. Love the redneck egg rolls and recently they had a special item of pulled pork tacos and they were the best. I highly recommend this place. read more
