Fish tacos- no flavor, would not recommend
    Elizabeth T.

This review is for their fish tacos. I ordered for pick up and staff member on phone was pleasant but the food was not! The fish tacos were the most flavorless fish tacos I have ever had. They should take them off the menu and start over. My husband got the surf and turf tacos which were salty but overall tasted decent. The food looked but the looks were deceiving. This place is always packed and lively but for some reason the food has been a miss lately.

    Carne asada nachos the works..

The food was so good. I had the chile relleno burrito. That was so cheesy I loved it. Fair prices too. Also shared nachos. Yummy! Found this gem on Yelp while passing thru the city. I will return to eat here again. Service was fine. You order at register then they bring your food to table. Light atmosphere with a small bar of liquor, beer & seltzers.

    Tacos ahogados- so delicious
    Liz M.

The atmosphere is always fun! Usually some sort of sporting event is being broadcasted on their TVs. The staff is always helpful and super nice. They serve specialty beers (can you tell I am not a beer connoisseur ) but all I can say is there different types of micheladas are delicious. Now the food!! I have never been disappointed! Their heartbreaker (actually all) hotdogs are so good. The bun is what sets them apart. Its like having a hot dog in Mexicali. Follow their instagram so you can find out about their specials. So far when I try something... delicious. My go to though is the chile relleno burrito. Best in town.

Sonora Grill is well-known throughout The IE. It's worth a visit if you're heading toward Vegas, Escondido, or Palm Springs. The bread and tortillas are house-made and the service is friendly & attentive serving the community. It's located in a typical Southern California strip mall with Lumpia and Pan Dulce only a few steps away. We had the Sonoran Dog with fries and Heartbreaker, which is a footlong bacon-wrapped 100% beef dog served with beans and pico de gallo on top. The beans are very delicious and the hot dog was tasty without being too salty. They also have outdoor seating and a belt for the line, so I'm certain the breakfast, lunch, and dinner rushes are consistent. They have an extensive beer list and a few seltzers, kombuchas, and hard ciders.

Sonoran Hot Dog and California Burrito
    Jeremy S.

Heard good things about this spot on social media and wanted to try something different than your standard Mexican restaurant so we gave this a try on a Saturday night! Got the Sonoran hot dog and the California burrito. The hot dog was pretty good, the toppings were tasty and blended well with the hot dog. The sausage was grilled pretty well, I thought the bun itself was just okay. It could have been toasted better. Felt like it was good but was just missing something to make the dish stand out more. The burrito on the other hand was amazing. One of the best I've had from anywhere. We got carne asada in the burrito and it was top notch. Cooked really well and blended perfectly with the rest of the burrito. I was really impressed! Service was good here as well and gave us some solid recs, The restaurant is nice with plenty of TVs playing sports and was very clean. The plaza it's in is a bit underwhelming but overall not terrible. Overall, had a good dinner here and really want to try some of their other dishes!

Brewery X Huckleberry Seltzer at 5% Refreshing and lots of huckleberry flavor. Love this.

Very clean place, surprising a large selection of local brewery beers and their own selection. In addition, delicious menu of Mexican food to enjoy. A bright spot in Moreno Valley.

Seriously, who wraps a burrito in bacon. Hilarious. So good. Sauces are good too.
    Eric R.

Good food- excellent service. Loved the experience overall. I loved the atmosphere. I got nachos, and most everyone else got burritos. The burritos are obnoxiously large. The bacon wrapped one my friend got looked so unique.

Bacon wrapped El Chapo burrito super filling!

This place screams football season! A must visit and such a great selection of food! Loved the surf and turf nachos a must try! Huge portions the Nachos come out in a tray definitely for 2! Brunch vibes chilaquiles with a cold beer or a yummy iced cafe de la Hoya on a Sunday. Perfection on a Sunday! Lots of TVs and games are all on. 10/10 this place never misses!

1 star : Service was really good 1 star : clean establishment 1 star : friendly environment 1 star: price The food was mediocre.. I ended up throwing 1/2 away. It lacked flavor unfortunately. I got the loaded fries. However my Mail said the chicken salad was bomb. All in all I'd probably go back

    Super Nachos

Always tasty! Super fresh and hot authentic Mexican food. Loved the portions. The staff is really friendly & helpful too. Gotta love the cantina vibes also.

    The classic burrito.
    Erik B.

Do yourself a favor and stop here for the flavor. I ordered the classic burrito with Asada and it was incredibly flavorful. The portions are big and the hot salsa they have delivers a perfect amount of heat and great flavor. It's one of the best burritos I've ever had.

    It's really good

Do they use lard in their beans?

EVERY self respecting Mexican restaurant uses Manteca (lard) in their beans!!

Does Sonora Grill serve gluten free food?

Not really. Corn tortillas are only available on Tuesday.

    Do they have happy hour?

No they don't but I still highly recommend. Carne asada super fries are the best and HUGE. Feeds 2 easily I'm a big guy and I could not finish.

Are there Taco Tuesday specials here?

Yes, dollar tacos but on select meat.

What is the average cost of a meal for two people minus alcohol?

Usually less than $20, although the larger items on the menu (El Chapo, The Heartbreaker) can cost more.

They have regular street tacos, they have their customized tacos, they have their signature tacos, they have burritos of different varieties, they also have different bowls to choose from... I ended up going with the Firebird bowl and I was not disappointed. It is a good size portion for the value, I have enough for leftovers. It also filled me up. This is a much better alternative to fast food, so much healthier and it's still quick to go. It does not take that long. The best part is they have a drive-through if you do wanna get it quickly! I'm lying that's not the best part, the best part is that it taste so good. I've been to healthy places like this before and they don't always taste that great this place actually taste so good. Second best part, the vibe in there, the people that worked there they were so nice. Stephanie was really friendly, I knew what I wanted to eat, but she was still kind of enough to offer suggestions. She suggested the churros come with the crem on the bottom, I definitely recommend giving them a go, those things were good. I decided to save some for my children lol Stephanie was just a pleasure to talk with and she was really nice. They do have restrooms to use while dining there. It's located against the street, you can pull into their little parking lot or you can pull all the way into the plaza, which is a huge parking lot so parking is definitely not an issue here. I'm not from this area, but if anyone else else's, I suggest coming here to eat. If I am in the area again, I will be back.

The small family-owned restaurant in a lazy strip mall in Moreno Valley provided some of the most amazing Mexican food in Southern California. We visited midday on Sunday and the place was only about a third full, with plenty of indoor seating in booths and tables. You order at the counter and the friendly young woman guides you through the menu prominently featured on the wall. So many different options. For our group, we went with the King Burrito, the Carne Asada Torta and the Beef Taco and Enchilada Plate. Within 10 minutes, the nice young woman who took our order, came by with our drinks and shortly thereafter, our orders. The King Burrito I order was HUGE. Covered with an amazingly delicious salsa verde (mole or dry options also available), this 10-plus inch burrito was packed with Shrimp, Carne Asada, Home Potatoes, Mexican Guacamole, Chipotle Sauce & Cheese. Also came with a side of Sour Cream. Seriously, one of the best tasting burritos I have experienced, there is so much flavor with the surf and turf combination, that will make your tastebuds delight, and feel a little bit of heat in the process. My girlfriend's Carne Asada Torta was also delicious. She let me have a few bites and the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection, just like it was in my King Burrito. The sandwich was also quite large had plenty of stacked ingredients to offer. Overall, the quality and portions of the food here at Los Reyes are amazing. You get tons of value and huge portions to boot. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant (and restrooms) and clean and welcoming. Plenty of parking in front, with lots of space inside. There is also a large TV featuring sports (football on Sundays, soccer other days) for your enjoyment. Come check out this family-owned restaurant in Moreno Valley.

The meal started off strong with their chips and salsa--super fresh and flavorful. For my entrée, I had the chicken fajitas. While they were cooked properly, I wish they had a bit more seasoning to really bring out the flavor. She probably should have sent it back, but since we were in a hurry, we didn't bother. On the positive side, my daughter had the carne asada burrito, and she said it was excellent. Service started off great with our younger male waiter being very attentive at first, but it slowed down significantly as our meal went on. The fries are covered with a light layer of refried beans, a melty/stretchy (oaxaca?) cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. I usually also add some red salsa as well that you can grab from the self serve salsa bar. My wife got her food first, which I didn't mind, and half brutalized it before I could get a decent picture - oops. It was a carne asada quesadilla mini meal which was like $9 and change and came with a side of rice and beans and a drink included (she got a small watermelon agua fresca). And my friend ordered the weekend special, which was the Menudo soup with tripe meat in it (as traditionally served). Lemme start with the salsa bar. It has everything you'd ever want including unlimited chips and beans. The catch is you have to scoop the beans at an awkward angle under the sneeze guard in to your serving bowl - but hey...free is free, and my wife loves free! She also super enjoyed her carne asada quesadilla mini meal and thought it was a great value. Again, my carne asada fries were perfect as always. The cheese on top is so perfect, and one day I'm going to have to ask what kind it is. It's such a large portion and I need to get a box next time instead of housing the whole plate in one sitting. I'm way too full! Lastly, my friend gave me a taste of his menudo and I think it was the best I've ever had. I'm not a menudo aficionado by any means. I've only ever had it at families homes growing up and probably never ordered it in a restaurant. But I assumed the home cooked version was supposed to be the best (sorry grandma!). The broth was much thicker and deeper red and had more flavor than any other version I've had. The tripa was also more tender. Any connoisseurs out there, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong and throw out some other spots you feel might be better. But not until you come down and give it a try yourself! There's no way you can convince me it's not great.

I decided to try something different and ordered the chile relleno combo plate, while my husband ordered a carne asada burrito. We ordered our food to go, and unfortunately, neither meal was up to the quality we've come to expect. The carne asada in my husband's burrito was extremely dry, and the breading on my chile relleno was unusually thick, dry, and difficult to enjoy. My first thought was that the food may have been prepared earlier and reheated, especially since I placed my order about 30 minutes before closing. I called the restaurant afterward to share my concerns and spoke with Javier. I explained the issues with both meals, but the only explanation I received was that the chile rellenos come frozen. I was disappointed with the response, especially since I've had so many positive experiences here in the past. This is still one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area, and I'm not writing this review to discourage people from eating here. I simply wanted to share my experience so others can avoid the same disappointment. Based on this visit, I would recommend avoiding takeout close to closing time--and I personally won't be ordering the chile relleno again.
