Went there on Sunday, 5/31/2026 - I cook better meats in my backyard, in fact, most people I know do too. My bill, for three people, one of which ate only salad, was $175.00... and we were invited as guests at a birthday party. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN.... I only consumed about 3 ounces of meat, and most of it was unpleasant... NO.. ALL of it was unpleasant. Wait staff is very nice and courtesou, I will give them that, the interior design is elegant, the FOOD????? 0 out of 10.... if you want great food, go somewhere else. read more

We live in Bossier. Our first experience with a Brazilian restaurant - lunch - was a few months ago in Garland TX and it was mind-blowing perfection in every way. So... that said. Went to our Shreveport one today for lunch.. having another comparable experience to go by. I really, really, really wanted to have this be as good. The good, the bad, the ugly: The Ugly. The waiter. Forgot the waters. Totally rude, argumentative, poor attitude; my companion was brought a drink with citrus and she apologized she forgot to tell him she couldn't have citrus, but he made a huge deal about it and even complained "I'll have to pay for it." She ordered a different drink. He would correct us in a negative tone about our meat questions and made a smart ass comment about the dessert menu. We are fun, light hearted easy going people so we just blew it off to vent through this review. Oh, to top it off, instead of comping us the original drink she didn't drink, he charged us for it then comped the cheaper drink. Class act. The Bad: Half the meat was overcooked or dry or lukewarm. We were not asked if we wanted rare, medium or well done (as in Dallas). 2-3 times we just sat there and no meat came to any of the tables in the restaurant; I finally had to ask for it. The salad and hot food bar was less than half the size or selection as in Dallas. I realize its a different chain, but really? Same prices. Booths not that comfortable. The Good. Great parking. Beautiful atmosphere; great lighting. The rest of the staff was very nice, attentive. Bread and butter, salad bar, rice, some hot food. The chimichanga steak and another steak was pretty good. Ice cold beer. Based on other reviews here, not sure if we'll return to try the dinner menu. read more

Service was terrible, came in and saw a couple eating after 15 minutes of setting we finally got asked what we wanted to drink, after going to the buffet for sides we set back down after this another couple came in and we waited another 15 minutes only to watch them be served first, when we asked if it was something we needed to purchase to eat the waiter did not speak back we thought she couldn't speak English but after we heard her talking English to the other table that's when we left. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Sonora Prime! Everything we had was delicious. All the meats were cooked perfect and seasoned well. The mashed potatoes & black beans were to die for! The salad bar was very good with a good selection. We were able to sample all the meats in a little over an hour and had no trouble getting what we asked for. The star of the show imo, the grilled pineapple, I would've ate a whole one by myself. Our waiter was very attentive and all the waiters bringing the meats were so nice and helpful. Our drinks did not have the nasty Shreveport water taste(WOOHOO!!!). For the price and quality, we both left satisfied and smiling. read more

This was a Birthday Dinner for someone that had NEVER been to a Brazilian Steakhouse...Sonora DID NOT disappoint...my mother had the best dinner...she kept talking about all the different meats that she had...there was Filet Mignon, Picana, Ribeye, Pork Loin, but the best of all was the Shrimp...what really stood out were the gentlemen with the spits...they ALWAYS checked on us...one of them asked how did I like my steak prepared and made sure that I got what I preferred...he did the same for my Mother (she was extremely grateful)...I also took home the Cheesecake from the Dessert Menu...it was outstanding...this will definitely be in the rotation...Great Job all around!!! read more

Highly recommend! My family's favorites were the garlic Parmesan chicken, filet, spicy sirloin and beef tip. Pace yourself so you can try them all. The salad bar is good and the mushrooms are good too. I even had dessert, the strawberry cake was yummy. Service was great! We will definitely be back. read more

Mushrooms and black beans were really good . The meat was a little too salty for me but maybe that was just me . Had to wait to get lettuce for salad for some time same as the plates. It's like no one was monitoring the salad bar for some time saying that it was Mother's Day and they were swamped with people when we entered. The first clue that our expectations should be low was when we called and they told us no need for reservations they aren't busy. The décor was very nice and our server was polite, but that's where the positives end. For a Brazilian steakhouse, this was one of the most disappointing and overpriced dining experiences we've had. The food quality was shockingly poor. They repeatedly brought out sausage we specifically said we did not want, yet almost no other meats were offered. We received chicken only once, and the only beef we were served was so overcooked it was practically inedible--dry, tough, and chewy like leather. What made the experience even worse was watching the table next to us receive a full rotation of meats multiple times while our table was clearly ignored. For $117, we essentially paid for a scoop of mashed potatoes, some beans, and a few scraps of meat. At the end, the waiter mentioned that he "comped" a single glass of tea, which felt insulting considering how little we were served. However we didn't not complain nor request any comps. The restaurant was not busy, so there was no excuse for the lack of quality or service. Between the overcooked food, the neglect of our table, and the outrageous price for what we received, we left feeling taken advantage of. My husband and I walked in to the restaurant around 7:30. No one was near the entrance. We waited a few minutes before being seated at a large table for the two of us. I ordered a dirty martini and the drink came 20 minutes later and it was sweet. I couldn't drink it because I don't drink super sweet beverages. My husband and I was were both thirsty and felt neglected by the server. My husband went at least 10 minutes without a refill of Coke Zero. I never found a roll or piece of bread to eat at the warm salad bar. There was no pasta. The meat was overcooked. Our bill was $128. It was the biggest scam I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I could have eaten 10 times better for a fraction of the cost anywhere else. I will never go back. read more

This place is good everyone should give it a try. If you have visited any of the other big name churrascaria restaurants out there just remember this place is new and local it is punching up for sure, and it does a fine job. The sides and salad bar could use work, everything was delicious, they could just use a better selection. On the other hand you typically go to these places for the meat and it doesn't disappoint. My only real complaint would be better chicken selections when we were there it was a parmesean drumstick or a BBQ wing. We have been patrons of Texas de Brazil restaurants across the state of TX for many years and this is just not hitting the mark. We anticipated a pricey meal. What we did not expect bland, overcooked, room temp meats despite our request otherwise. Our server was kind, but not service oriented. Every refill had to be asked for, drinks and bread included. After the salad bar, we turned our cards to green, but didn't receive clean plates to proceed. When asked, the server pointed in their direction, the same as he did when I requested a spoon. That is not service anticipated during a $400 meal, maybe at Golden Corral. We chalked it up to Texas de Brazil just being difficult to compare to. Shortly after 9, they begin moving tables and sweeping. The restaurant closed at 10. We felt rushed. We paid, in cash. Still leaving the server a 13% tip. He brings our receipt and in an exchange with husband pointed out the suggested tip scale. He served nothing unless asked and when opportunities presented themselves, he told us to get it ourselves by pointing. Meats were cold, dry, and service was to be desired. The salad bar was fresh! Went for the first time last night for a birthday dinner and the experience was fantastic! From the person who answered the phone before my visit, to the team member who thanked us on the way out and snapped a photo for us on the way out- all touch points exceeded my expectations! Having never eaten at a Brazilian steakhouse before we went in pretty blind to pricing, but I was honestly expecting the bill to be more. Our server, Emerson, was so personable and attentive. I think everyone needs to know that Sonora Prime is also open for lunch now. It's also half the price! The only difference between night service and lunch service is that shrimp, lamb, and filet mignon is not served during lunch which is understandable for a $25 all you can eat lunch. It's also quick if you only have a certain time for a lunch break. It's a great addition to the choices of restaurants in Shreveport. For the ones that have posted reviews and have had a bad experience or wasn't impressed, I strongly suggest that you give it another chance. Im quite positive that you will end up with a change of heart. The food is fresh and great. They will accommodate your likings. Rather it's wanting more of an item and/or wanting an item cooked a certain temperature. It's a clean beautiful restaurant with a nice comfortable atmosphere. Especially when they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. When you look at someone's bad review that they post, make sure you look at the other reviews they have posted.
