First, I should start with something nice about the place ... the front of house staff was always super pleasant and helpful. However, you only deal with them for 2 minutes and everyone in the back of the house for hours. The rest of the staff with whom I came in contact seem to think that continuous condescension and repeating the same message is acceptable. And, in actuality, when Dr. Sielicki gave me a good natured ribbing, I respected it ... but, talk like that has to come from authority and people who aren't clearly past their prime. I knew that my mouth needed more attention than what I was giving it. That's why I showed up. I was honest about my past care, personal upkeep, medical issues, etc. The first hygienist who worked with me ditched me after I choked because she didn't keep up with the suction. The next time, I got the 'grizzled veteran,' Kempa, who has been in the industry 30 years, been in the industry 30 years, been in the industry 30 years (you get it). She paid special attention to the issue that freaked out the first girl (when I warned her it was probable not possible I would choke) and we got through part 2 of the deep cleaning without incident. I returned for a subsequent check-up/cleaning to admonishment for letting too much time pass in between (6 months); fine, give me some well deserved crap, I am a big boy! We had a friendly chat about my business and how I have let clients go because they were focusing on the wrong things. So, when the substitute dentist came to look at a spot about which Kempa was concerned, she started in with the importance of coming every four months. I told her that I heard her and everybody else that said the same thing. I will come when I come because ... that's just me. I have no problem with the very nice substitute dentist (other than the fact that I researched and chose Ann and it wasn't made clear that I was going to get whoever was available). In fact, I think it took the substitute by surprise when Kempa reminded me that I let clients go who aren't cooperative and she saw this as a similar situation. WRONG! I worked with those people so closely for years before I helped make the determination they are better served elsewhere. I do everything I can before cutting bait with people who engage and rely upon me. There is very little comparison between my work and the hands-on stuff they do ... other than both are extremely valuable. Some people just need to feel like they are in control. I think Kempa felt I was attacking the newer dentist by telling her I am familiar with the 'come back often' line. The moment the suggestion left her lips, I knew selecting this practice was my mistake. The rapport from earlier was clearly just acting on her part because she literally threw her hands up and said, "I'm done," after no greater than 25 seconds of adversity. I had to let them know that the whiplash I got from the attitudinal turnaround of this 'experienced person' was quite unprofessional and I must warn others (I don't post many reviews, so take this seriously). I forget if I have been there three or four times but, this last one will be the final time. There are much less 'Scottsdale' (read: full of themselves and expensive) places to go ... ones who listen to the patient and aren't running a self-serving campaign to bring in more income to the practice. Buyer beware! I am posting this on behalf of my wife who had a recent poor experience with this office in November 2018. She asked me to help engage in the financial concerns and with multiple attempts (having a pleasant approach) the outcome was disappointing. Below summary shares the real experience as summarized from a professional, educated MBA graduate and wonderful mother of two children. ------------------------ The office is updated and state of the art. That's about the only positive thing I can say about this practice. While there, they continually try to up sell you on a variety of services, which I find annoying about dentists. This office records your conversation without disclosing that they are doing so. I understand that this is legal via state law, however, we had a question regarding whether they told us if they were out of network when we called to schedule an appointment and they declined to email the recording to us after a $1,100 bill for services. When looking back at estimates for work, the estimates total $500 and all fall under insurable amount on their benefit statement that they provided. They offered to play the recording for us in the office only before or after hours knowing there would be a scene. Being they refused to share in this cost there simply was no point in going to hear this recorded tape conversation. Again, all conversations are recorded, so beware! Even if there is a misunderstanding, if Dr Sielicki was interested in maintaining patients she would have come up with some shared resolution. This dentist is clearly out for profit and is unwilling to work with us on a payment compromise. They are an unethical practice and I highly recommend staying away. read more

I can't really explain "dentist anxiety" to someone who doesn't relate. I prioritize a healthy, white smile as much as anyone, but going to the dentist is not something I ever look forward to. This office alleviated my dentist anxiety within the first couple minutes of stepping in. The staff are all friendly, the waiting room is unlike any 'waiting room' you've been in before (in a good way) and Dr. Sielicki herself is amazing. I have since referred my mom to see Dr. Sielicki, who has also had a good experience. My mom's had icky dental drama and Dr. Sielicki spent a time giving her options, going over procedures, recommendations, etc. read more

Dr. Sielicki and her staff are awesome, particularly if, like me, you are highly anxious about dental work. I had a crown installed yesterday (as well as replacing an old filling) and it was pain-free. They have a special tool that even masks the feeling of the novocaine shot, so the whole process is absolutely painless. Then they set me up with Netflix while they were working, which made the time pass more quickly. An onsite crown manufacturing machine allowed for a perfectly fitted custom crown to be manufactured in the office while I waited (no temporaries!) , and the latest dental x-ray equipment made certain that my teeth were decay-free. The staff, as always, was professional and friendly - and continue to be very diligent about maintaining a safe environment during COVID. read more

I've been going to Sonoran Dental for 10 years now, and 5 stars is the least it deserves, I'd give it more if I could! This office is an hour from my home, but the trip is worth every minute. The staff is friendly and attentive. From the front desk, to the hygienists, to Dr. S, are all always welcoming and very kind. The office is modern and elegant, very up-to-date. Of course above all Sonoran Dental is very good at what they do. I've come here for check ups, cavities, night/sport guards, chipped teeth, and all else, and this office never fails to impress me with their thorough technique and proffesionalism. After almost a decade of regular visits and agreeing to all suggested procedures, on Oct 12th, 2015, I requested a cleaning only with no x-rays. When I arrived, I was taken to a room and sternly reprimanded by Dr. Sielicki that I must certainly not understand the benefits of x-rays (after years of getting x-rays!). When I said 'no' to x-rays (this one time) and requested just a cleaning, I was told I should come back "when I was more mentally prepared". I had no choice but to leave, as I was refused the service of getting a cleaning w/out x-rays. As I was leaving, Dr. Sielicki said "let me know where you want your records transferred". I was dumbfounded and appalled at this treatment after so many years of dedication to her practice. read more

I just moved to the area and went to Dr. Sielicki for my dental work in late February for an exam where she proceeded to shame me for the condition of my teeth. She then referred me to an oral surgeon who's been nothing but problematic. I've been in pain for 4 days after my surgery now and I called Dr. Sielicki for some advice and she acted as if my dental work was of no concern to her and she was rude and unhelpful. read more

I don't normally write reviews, but every once in a while you see someone who loves their work so much that it exudes through them, and their entire workplace. Dr. Seilicki is that person. I've been to see her once before for a chipped front tooth - something I had repaired three other times by other dentists, but the tooth always re-chipped within 6 moths of the repair. It's well past two years, and the repair done by Dr. Seilicki is still beautiful. I noticed that she took more time, and was a lot more precise in her approach when she did the repair, and clearly she did something that the other dentists did not. As a result, I decided to see Dr. Sielicki about another issue I am having, even though I live in California. It is worth the trip for me, as I prefer to have things done right the first time. First, let me say that as a general dentist, Dr Sielicki is top notch. I was her patient for more than 10 years because I felt I was receiving excellent and thorough dental care. I would have given her four stars, with a loss of a star only for the reason that she is so expensive. The problems came when I decided to use her practice for my Invisalign. Alas, she is not an orthodontist, and is apparently out of her league in trying to do the work of an orthodontist. First of all, be aware that she charges more than orthodontists in the same community... almost $1000.00 more. I went with her, though, because we had a long-time relationship and I trusted her care. About three-fourths of the way through my treatment I moved to a new state and had to seek out an orthodontist in my new hometown to finish the treatment. The new orthodontist cringed when she saw what had been done. My teeth were tracking fine, but certain details had been overlooked or missed that resulted in my alignment not being as good as it could have been if an expert orthodontist had done the work. Now that I have finished my treatment and am wearing retainers, I still have four teeth that could have been more perfectly corrected. I basically paid more for lower quality treatment than if I had gone with someone else. I'm very disappointed. read more

I moved to Scottsdale from Seattle about 2 years ago and was faced with the need to find a new dentist. I was very comfortable with my previous dentist in Seattle so I had high expectations in terms of what I was looking for in terms of dental consultation, ease of scheduling, and overall dental care. I went through typical process of getting feedback/referrals from friends and checking online reviews. After checking out a few different dentists, I ultimately chose Dr. Sielicki, and have been very pleased with this decision. Over the past couple of years I have had some unexpected dental needs come up, and therefore have visited Dr. Sielicki more than the typical cleaning appointments. Throughout this time I have been very please with all of my experiences with Dr. Sielicki's office - everything from getting in for an appointment where it fits my schedule, to having full visibility into costs of service, and ultimately feeling that I am receiving top quality dental care, Dr. Sielicki has really exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend her practice to others. read more
