3.5/5 !! Finally checked out Soothr kind of on a whim, and we got lucky that it wasn't too packed! Had to see what all the hype was about The Chicken Khao Soi was absolutely delicious. It was easily my favorite dish there. Honestly, a 10/10 for me. I think ordering a side of rice would've made it even better since it was very saucy The Beef Pad Si-iw was also really flavorful. It's a classic, so you can't really go wrong with ordering it. My only complaint was that the beef was a bit too chewy, which isn't my favorite For dessert, we got the mango sundae. The mangoes weren't very sweet and the mango flavor of the ice cream was not very strong. I think Mango Mango can offer more flavorful mango ice cream. The dessert was a bit underwhelming Overall, though, that Chicken Khao Soi... might have to DoorDash that
I was able to get a reservation at the bar. It was really busy inside and I got a text my reservation was ready. The drinks are good and so is the food. Service is ok. I ordered one dessert and was given another one and it wasnt great. I would go back to try more food and other drinks I understand why there always busy. I would skip dessert it did taste like freezer and wasn't worth it. For main food the curry crab noodles were great and so was the rolls. The restaurant has cool deco and the colorful drinks are fun.
Such a wonderful place to celebrate our friends birthday! The place is super chic and busy all the way until closing and after tasting their Tom Yum seafood dish, I can fully see why. Their food is delicious, the serving staff was so friendly and accommodating. Thank you for helping our friend feel special on her birthday
Lush and delicious, a must try Thai spot in LES. The lychee martini was insanely good not too sweet and so refreshing and well balanced with two juicy fresh lychees hanging off the glass. The eggplant salad is a bit like a thai babaganoush and a little on the small side. The pork salad was good. Stand out dishes- the khao soi tofu was insane, the tofu is so silky and soaks up the flavor of the khao soi so well, I liked it way more than chicken. The broth was so warm and savory and perfect. The lychee duck curry was super succulent and delicious, I used the broth to flavor my rice and it was so so good. The duck rolls were delicious! So crisp and hot and filled with great spice and texture. The one thing I would not come back to order again was the fried branzino, topped with tangy mango and flavorful herbs but it was so overfried and there was barely any fish meat on the bones.
Went in on a Monday around 3pm. We were able to get a table immediately. The restaurant is very quaint. Not too loud. Very few tables and intimate. The server was attentive and helpful. Our water glasses were kept full at all times. Our mains came with a small side of pork meatballs and dumplings. The dumplings were fantastic. The meatballs were a little tough but still good. For mains, my wife got the shrimp pad Thai. Not too spicy (her liking). She said it was excellent. I got the Soothr Jeeb Dumplings. Amazing! Also got the Chicken Ki-Mao Noodles. So spicy and so good. It was a fantastic all around experience. We took the train there so can't comment on parking. A short walk from the station however. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
The Chicken Khao Soi was very flavorful and amazing, but a bit on the saltier end. The thai iced tea hit the spot. The mango dessert was a bit mid- the mango itself not that sweet and the sticky rice tasted a bit old. Service was very quick, but our server missed a second order of tea and also gave us sparkling instead of still water like we had ordered. Inside, there's a lot of space in the back (surprisingly), and well decorated. Dimly lit.
Super attentive service, super good food!! The flavor of each of the dishes tasted distinct from other Thai places I've gone to. I especially loved the crab fried rice, the sauces that came with it were so incredible. The green sauce paired incredibly well with the rice. The noodles came with generous servings of meat as well.

Half a suck for $59 ish? Not bad. Definitely tasty but a little on the sweeter side. My friend also ordered these crispy noodles with prawn in a curry sauce. Actually the star of the show. Never had anything quite like it at a Thai restaurant. My friend is Pakistani and said this dish is popular in Pakistani area her hubby is from. The curry is almost like a thick soup and the noodles are crispy and soak up the curry really well. We deiced we needed to balance out the meal with veggies and ordered the snow pea shoots. Oddly, the duck didn't come with white rice as an option but the veggies did. We ordered two drinks. A cocktail and cocktail. Both so pretty and delicious. Service was attentive and quick. Now I know why this place is so popular. Great addition to queen's without having to go to the Manhattan location.

One of the best kao sois I've had since I was in Thailand -- curry flavor, noodle texture and crunch, and spice level. Soothr's kao Soi has it all The pad Thai is also referenced as "the best", but I would give it a very very good. The noodles are on the wetter side, so you have to prefer that to really enjoy it. The peashoots were really tasty but a bit tough. Dessert was fire. The servers weren't overly friendly, but were on it with service and water refills. I give Soothr a strong 4.5.

Had the most delicious meal here last night! The food is so flavorful, and the standouts were the soft shell crab, the braised beef salad, the moo deng puffs, and the crab fried rice. The service is extremely fast, which is nice, but they do try to rush you out of these. Loved the ambiance as well. I'll definitely be back!
Craving for Thai food and found this amazing restaurant/bar in east village. Food was amazing and it has the chic local bar feeling even though it was only the lunch time. Servers were attentive. Crab fried rice was really outstanding. Simple the best! Goes so well with the sauce. Chicken Khao Soi is one of the signature - Rich, strong coconut flavor and sweet. Next time gotta try the Nam-Tok Moo - I think I like something rich but not so sweet. Mango sticky rice, good as always to end this meal.

Soothr is a famous Thai restaurant in NYC! This place gets PACKED and the space inside is rather small, so I definitely recommend a reservation if possible. The decor around the restaurant was beautiful. The servers were all very friendly, but you could tell that they wanted us to leave towards the end of our meal (90-minute dining time) so that they could flip the table. We got the Shrimp Pad Thai, Dara Citrine, Rose Quartz, Yum Pu Nhim, and Chicken Ki-Mao Noodles. As for the cocktails, they had a whole menu dedicated to birthstones so that was pretty innovative. The Dara Citrine tasted strong while the Rose Quartz tasted good. Our server recommended the Yum Pu Nhim which was the fried soft-shell crab tossed in herbs, Thai chili, and a lime dressing. This was the highlight of dinner for me. It was SO good! The crab tasted amazing and had a great crunch while the dressing it was in was so flavorful. My Chicken Ki-Mao Noodles were good, but there was a slightly tangy taste to the dish, which I am not used to. It still tasted good, but different. Overall, I think Soothr is a solid option for Thai food! Lovely atmosphere and good food. read more

Perhaps I had too high of expectations but I was honestly not impressed by this meal. The tofu khao soi was really tasty, and I have never before seen a veg khao soi offered so that was exciting. Other two dishes were very spicy but otherwise average in taste and preparation. We got a vegan duck dish which was decent and the real duck rolls which completely lacked flavor. Probably would not return given the difficulty of getting a reservation + multitude of other thai options around the city. read more
This was a big let down. After hearing rave reviews about this place and fighting for a reservation, I was super excited to try one of New York's most famous Thai restaurants. I will preface by saying I have dietary restrictions, so could only order vegetarian/pescatarian dishes. To share, my table got the eggplant buns. I was super excited for this as an eggplant lover and was really let down. The eggplant wasn't crispy, and the sauce wasn't flavorful enough to add anything to it. Just overall could have used more flavor, especially since bao is so light and a great vehicle for complex flavors. For my main, I got the Vegetable Masamun Trio. I don't know why I expected three different curries. We had to order rice separately, which is not a huge deal, but just something to note. This dish was tasty, but nothing that blew my socks off. Just a homey curry. My friends got the duck noodle and also found it average, maybe too salty. The service was friendly and they were accommodating to my late friend. read more

The only reason this is a 4 is because of the rushed vibe (told we had 1hr 15 min to eat). The early dinner service was excellent though (with a reservation)! Our friendly server greeted us with a smile, answered our questions thoroughly, and provided perfect recommendations. We especially enjoyed the shrimp pad Thai and beef and vegetable Masaman curry. The stewed beef melted in your mouth! The duck curry was spicy but those that tried it, liked it. Big chunks of crab nestled in the tasty Karee Pu Noodles! It's fish saucy, sour, cilantro Khao soi - great and more soupy than most. Other places do give more crispy noodles but the flavor on this is very good. Typically had it with chicken but this has crispy pork belly which I love. Get extra noodles to soak it up. Overall: 5 stars Soothr was a Michelin rated restaurant that has some solid quality Thai food so I was eager to go back for a second round since its been a while. The quality seems to have lasted between the gap and maintains very consistently solid with good service, an interesting menu, and well executed tasty food. I greatly appreciated that they take all dietary restrictions very seriously, reaching out about dairy beforehand and checking in multiple times at the restaurant. (Hoi Johr: C) - Meat forward appetizer encapsulated by a crisp wrapped bean curd. The meat filling is tender and pairs well with that classic thai glaze. The presentation could be made more appealing though. (Pad Thai: B) - Petite portion of Pad Thai, but the flavor profile is solidly there with the sweetness, saltiness, and sourness such that no component overpowers. This one makes a particularly great lunch deal. (Crab Fried Rice: A) - Light but hearty fried rice that is subtle on the palette and paired well with tenderly delicate crab meat. We showed up at 4:45 on a Wednesday and were third in line. Upon opening we weee called within 10 minutes. The duck rolls were hot and the inside was flavorful. The sweet sauce on the side complemented it well. I had the Karee Pu because the waiter said it was really popular. It was so creamy and like nothing I have tasted before. Delicious! The consistency was so thick and flavorful! I could have made two meals out of it. My companions had chicken kao soy. I've also never had that flavor. It was spicy, almost too spicy for me but that flavor! That's a "last meal" request type of dish! We drank multiple Saratoga little bottles, my only change was that I would have liked larger bottles offered. The staff was quick and helpful, it ran seamlessly. I felt we were in good hands. This is an outstanding establishment that makes me rethink other five stars I've given, wish I could rate it higher. My daughter tells me the portions are the same if Doordashed. read more

Got our Thai food fix! The Tom Yum Soup was my favorite and the crab noodles were also delicious. We definitely ordered more than we could finish but we couldn't resist since everything on the menu looked so good. We even had some leftovers to take home. The mussels were very fresh. Instead of being chewy, they were cooked perfectly. My husband's favorite dish was the duck. I must say the sauce was really good - creamy but not overly thick. Their cocktail menu was also very creative, and every drink looked beautiful. Be sure to make a reservation because it gets very busy during dinner time! Also, just a quick note that the bathroom is a little hidden. It's right behind the door in one of the pictures I shared. read more
Soothr has great Thai food and an incredible interior and ambiance. Great for a cute lunch or dinner, and very Instagram worthy food and decor. We made a reservation online for around 3-4 PM, and the service was accommodating and polite. The food was excellent and the portions were generous too. We ordered 2 entrees and an appetizer for 3 people and it ended up being the perfect amount if not a little too much. We ordered the khao soi moo tod which was a noodle dish with katsu on top. It was very fragrant and spiced, with a curry like sauce and bouncy noodles. There was a lot of meat on top so it was very filling. The stewed beef was also delicious, a little spicy and very tender. It came with rice too. The moo dang puffs were probably our favorite, and they were recommended to us by the server. They were light and crispy, and the filling inside was warm and hearty. Overall, definitely recommend Soothr. There's definitely a lot of hype around this place and I get why! read more

We were so excited to finally try Soothr and we already can't wait to come back! We came with a reservation on a Saturday night and were seated quickly after checking in. The restaurant was very busy and we were told we had an hour and a half time total to enjoy our dinner. We started with a Thai beer and Thai iced tea followed by a delicious fresh eggplant salad. We then got the spare ribs, the duck noodles, the shrimp koong karee and the chicken khao soi. Would repeatedly get the chicken, ribs and eggplant salad but looking forward to trying more menu options next visit! Service was quick and the food was plated beautifully and delicious! read more

Unfortunately we were underwhelmed. I've had many Thai Boat noodles in my life and this one, even vinegar and chili condiments couldn't fix it. Something was just missing! The pork meatball app was ok. It was just 3 small cooked meatballs with something that tasted like a sweet and sour sauce topping it off. The fried tofu app had the same sauce on top, except the fried tofu was actually good. My husband's duck noodles--- this was the biggest let down. The duck was perfection. The egg noodles though? Tasted exactly like instant ramen noodles that have been overcooked. My husband couldn't bring himself to eat the noodles, and I tried it, and understood why. A good cut of duck meat with overcooked instant noodles--- no, thank you. Service was good overall. I visited Soothr in New York recently after hearing a lot of great things, and while there were some positives, my overall experience ended up being pretty average. First off, be prepared to wait. The restaurant was extremely busy, and the wait time to be seated was longer than expected. Even after getting a table, it still took a while for everything to move along--from placing my order to actually receiving the food. It definitely felt like they were a bit overwhelmed. As for the food, I ordered the duck curry, which unfortunately didn't quite hit the mark for me. The flavor leaned noticeably sweet--more than I was expecting for a curry--and it overpowered the other elements that usually make these dishes rich and balanced. It wasn't inedible, but it just didn't have the depth or complexity I was hoping for. The service was okay overall. The staff was polite, but interactions felt a bit rushed and not especially attentive, likely due to how busy the place was. We didn't have any major issues, but nothing stood out in a positive way either. The atmosphere itself is lively and trendy, so I can see why it's popular, especially for a night out. However, between the long wait, average service, and the food not quite meeting expectations, I'd say it was more of a 2-3-star experience for me. I might give it another try someday, but it's not at the top of my list to revisit. read more
Had this place recommended to us so grabbed a weekend lunch reservation. We arrived 30 minutes early and waited in line for check-in for about 10 minutes or so. Soon after we were brought in and taken to our table. Service was friendly and frequent. When we needed something, someone was always close by to help. The food was as good as we've heard. The duck curry and pad thai were excellent with excellent flavors without being too salty which I experienced at other similar restaurants. The place itself is right but beautifully decorated.
