I don't know if he was unprepared or was having a bad day, but he was in such a bad mood to serve people. He was completely rude and dismissive with everyone in line. He took orders as if we were bothering him by being there. When a friend asked something about a sandwich on the menu, he looked at him like he was dumb. After waiting half my lunch hour for the food, my sandwich was so boring and sad. Tony would not approve. The pesto sandwich was good but not great or worth the price. The fries that promise to be unique and impressive were almost flavorless and underwhelming. The truck was not prepared for the event, the food was not worth whatever we paid, the server or owner looked like he hated his business and I was very disappointed. I ordered the Da Gabagool, which was the most italian sandwich that was offered between the options. The wagyu pastrami wasn't offered. The sandwich was fine, but not amazing. I expected a salami sandwich, but the meat used seemed to be more of a thicker cut fancy bologna, vs the dense drier cut of normal cured salami. The vegetables, dressing and cheese was good, but my cheese was inconsistently heated. A Gabagool sandwich that incorporates capicola could be really good. read more

I recently tried this food truck at Lincoln Brewery and HOLY SHIT... I normally don't get excited about sandwiches but I crave this truck now. Outstandingly delicious! I ordered the Capone's and my husband went with the Turkey Delight. Both sandwiches came to us within a few minutes, massive, warm, and wrapped in foil. The guys in the truck seemed very passionate about their sandwiches, and you could tell how much thought they put into their flavor combos. My sandwich was a roast beef base that came with caramelized onion jam, creamy horseradish and smoked cheddar, and none of those overpowered anything else; they melded together perfectly for a flavor party. I'd never had dutch crunch bread and from the name, I thought it would be sharp, crunchy mouth-shredding bread. But that wasn't the case at all! It had a light, flavorful crust, and not at all too much for the bread/filling ratio. The roof of my mouth was perfectly unscathed, maybe even better than it was before. Each sandwich was around $15. I was at Smog City Brewery and Sopranos Deli was the food truck they partnered with. It was the first time I had had their food and LOVED everything. I got the Mob Wives sandwich, which amazing with lots of veggies and my husband got the Turkey Delight that was packed with turkey and other goodness. Love the Dutch Crunch bread. The fries were amazing with seasoning and generous. Everything was craveable and I'm still craving the sandwich and fries. The owner is so nice and humble. Beyond that, my experience was bad because they just completely made the sandwich wrong - "Wagyu pastrami" tastes an awful lot like Boar's Head (ick), forgot to add the sauerkraut, put it on Dutch crunch instead of rye, and seemed to be trying to re-enact February 2022 by putting entirely too much Russian (dressing) in Ukraine (this sandwich). Stumbled across this truck while on a walk and wasn't sure if it wanted to give it a try. I circled back around and looked over the menu. After speaking with the guy (great customer service by the way)... he recommended the wagyu pastrami, Capone's or the roast beef (he stated those were the top 3 sellers). I went with the Wagyu Pastrami. It was pretty good. Generous portion of pastrami on rye bread with cheese, sauerkraut and onion jam. Pretty delicious. I've never had onion jam so I did inquire about this prior to ordering...... I'm a fan. I generally do not like rye bread but their rye bread was not bad at all. I've only finished half my gabagool but I had to run and place a review. This truck is absolutely phenomenal! I'm a convert who doesn't eat pork anymore so being able to have something close to a traditional italian (my favorite) is truely special. Bread was delicious, meat was plentiful (I did order extra dor $2 more), the double cheese makes it super decedant but the peppercinnis give it good balance. The food was absolutely delicious, with bold, authentic flavors that transported me straight to an old-school Italian deli. Sandwiches are one of my favorite types of food and boy did this food truck not disappoint. Went to super street after dark last night and this was one of the food truck options. After reading the menu we really wanted to try the Capones but since it was nearing the end of the night (it ended at 10 and we were in line around 9:30) he was out of it. Not a problem at all, we ended up going with "da gabagool". He had a line CONSTANTLY, and every sandwich was made fresh and hot on Dutch crunch bread. After some research I noticed his truck is fairly new and recent and usually located in LA and surrounding areas. Before I get to the food, I just got to say this guy is an absolute champion. Churning out hot and delicious sandwiches by himself at an event that had nearly 500 people was extremely impressive. From the beginning he had a line and even went a little after the event officially "ended". While everyone was still waiting to pull all of the cars out he was still going, giving the people what we wanted. He was extremely kind and humble too, you can tell he was passionate and happy to be serving people quality food. Now onto the sandwich itself, "Da Gabagool" . Served on Dutch crunch bread (my favorite kind), garlic and herb cream cheese, provolone, salami, pepperoncinis, butter lettuce, Italian dressing, evoo and salt and pepper all served hot. Holy Moly was this one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The flavor was phenomenal, I was iffy about the cream cheese aspect at first but OMG was that amazing. It was hot and juicy and jam packed full of amazing flavors. Everything complimented each other and I wanted it to never end. Now listen, he's a one man operation and the food is top notch quality, you have to be PATIENT, but when I tell you it was worth every minute we waited, I MEAN IT! Service was great, but the pastrami wasn't all that. The pastrami seemed a bit slimy, as if it hadn't been charred on a grill and it was hardly any meat on the sandwich. I asked for pickles but was told they don't have any. I have never heard of a deli not having pickles, but that's fine. My husband got Da Gabagool. This sandwich also had very little meat or any other toppings. Tbe taste of both sandwiches was mid at best. We decided to try this truck because it's not often you can get halal deli meat.
