I was really hungry when I came here one day and ordered six tacos and a burrito. The tacos I got included the carne asada, pastor, chorizo, cabeza, lengua, and tripa. The burrito I got included camaron y asada. The burrito included rice, beans, cilantro, and onion while the tacos had rice and beans. I enjoyed the variety of proteins and felt like each one had its own distinguishing characteristic. They were all different and good in their own way. I placed an order through DoorDash and I asked for asada and el pastor tacos they gave me 2 asada and I asked for pollo and carnitas Mulitas and they gave me 2 chicken are these guys slow or don't know how to read. Plus have you seen the tacos no onion or no cilantro that's like giving a quesadilla with no cheese like I've seen multiple reviews stating how they forget that stuff what am I supposed to put pickled onions on my tacos. Delicious Mexican food in an unassuming truck in a carwash parking lot. This is what LA food is about!! The food was wonderful and the prices were low. They were a little slow preparing it but it was worth the wait. I tried sopes and tacos and both were good. I adored the sopes though. Meat portions are pretty generous, but the taco as a whole is pretty small. The mulita was piping hot. I could barely hold it with my bare hands. Needed the foil and napkins to eat. It was a bit greasy, but mulita is what I imagine when craving quesadillas. The taco meat filling is pretty generous. Be mindful that any extras will be an extra charge: avocado, sour cream, fresh hot tortilla. The horchata was large, practically big gulp sized drink. The price point is high for tacos, but in this economy a filling cheap meal is hard to find. For $16.50, I got 1 Mulita + Avocado, 2 Tacos + Fresh Tortilla and Horchata. I'd rather support small business than a big chain fast food any day. My preference: Mulita con Carne Asada. Tacos con Al Pastor y Chorizo. Horchata. Service is okay, but I think they just have a hard time hearing and understanding from inside the truck sometimes as my order is not always correct. Although they are always quick to correct. The meats are all okay but can be on the drier side. On most days their carne asada fries are nice and crispy which I do appreciate. The horchata is hit and miss as sometimes it is very gritty and sometimes it is very watery. They do offer free refills though. There is a dining area next to the condiment station if you want to dine there. It didn't take long for them to call me for my order but when I got back to my Airbnb, I discovered that they only gave me 4 tacos!! I have been both for evening, super late night and for breakfast and I've never had a bad meal here. Yes you do get what you pay for but here I believe you get a great bang for your buck! Tacos Super Gallito is probably the closest authentic taco truck near UCLA campus, so the convenience factor for students is probably what separates them from the more iconic (but far) taco trucks. Their taco meats are pretty standard. The cilantro and onions are chopped too thick for my preference, as I usually like it about the same size of the sliced pieces of meat. The cucumber was stale, the limes were dry, and I wish I asked for the grilled onion (though I wasn't sure whether or not it was free.) Unfortunately, their prices have increased to around $2-3 per taco, so getting three or four tacos is equivalent to getting a full meal at an actual restaurant in the plaza they're in. I would give this place a 3.5 stars rating, rounding up to 4 for yelp. I got three tacos: asada, pastor, and cabeza. I know reviews show the asada tacos are popular but I found them to be drier than I preferred. The pastor one was less dry though not as flavorful as I prefer. That said, the cabeza taco was my favorite one. I really enjoyed how nice and fatty it was. I also liked how there were large meat portions for all three tacos, making the meal quite filling. Furthermore I liked how they served the tacos with a side of sauteed peppers and onions. Ordered these tacos via Postmates so this review refers to that experience. They offered delivery from this taco truck for free and I was craving tacos so I ordered from here using Postmates. I got chicken tacos at $2.50 each. These tacos were actually really good compared to what I was expecting! I've never had fresh tacos delivered to me before but these exceeded my expectations. The delivery came quickly as well. West LA doesn't have too many authentic tacos but these are pretty good and one of the best I've had so far on this side. To my surprise, I have actually found a number of very tasty street tacos (one by the Trade Joe's off Sepulveda and the other is called brother cousins off sawtelle/national). My fiance ordered the Al Pastor and I think our standards have gotten extra high after eating the Brother Cousins and El Flamin Tacos in ktown. I grew up in Montebello so I'm used to the authentic stuff...but I also appreciate Del Tacos and Chipotle type of fast food so I think I'm a fairly good judge on various types of Mexican Food. I used to frequent this taco truck all of the time when I worked night shift at the hospitals and even put my co workers on to it and brought them even more business. Last night I dropped in because I was starving on my way home and I was utterly disappointed . I'm giving 3 stars because they have potential idk if it's new staff or what. Pros: there was no line which was supervising for 1030pm on a Friday (probably because service has changed). I literally pulled up to the truck with my car. They accept card and cash. Cons: I was super excited. I ordered 5 asada tacos (I normally check my order but it was late and I wanted to get home after a 12 hour shift) and the tacos were CHICKEN! the avocados were cut sloppy and browning already, the grilled peppers that were placed in foil leaked all over the place. It was a mess but what was most depressing was getting chicken tacos when I ordered asada. I didn't even drive back because I don't live that close so I just suffered through the undesired chicken. They charge $2.20 per taco which isn't super pricey but there's better trucks for less and they'll get your order right. I don't recommend the tripe taco it was my first time ordering it. My son and I ate here after going on a tour of UCLA. This is the same outfit as the restaurants on Lincoln in Anaheim and Vermont in Harbor City. I went for al pastor on my tacos because it is fabulous. The chipotle based salsa is hot and smokey. There is no place to park except the adjacent car wash.
