The nopales was fine; the fish taco was not the best or the worst fish taco ever; but the vegetarian taco was just pretty sad. Slapped together by someone who is not a vegetarian. We walked bag to dig in and it was a pretty good solid burrito with the right flavor profile and the right mouth feel, I had previously tried another breakfast burrito place close by but it's sooo fatty that it's a lot and not in a good way for me. This is one of the best spots in Westwood for delicious Mexican food. The menu offers a variety of items, but my favorite is always the chicken flautas with rice and beans. The plate includes 6 flautas topped with sour cream, cheese, guacamole, and a side of hot sauce. The service is friendly and the staff are very welcoming. There is plenty of seating inside, plus some tables outside. Parking can be tricky on the street in front of the restaurant, but there's a lot nearby by Trader Joe's--if you shop there, you get parking validation. There is an outdoor seating area with a few tables as well as a couple tables indoor. There is not much ambiance at Pinches, but the service was pretty quick during lunch time. WOW love this place! I have worked down the street for two years and never tried it until today, although my coworkers have had it many times and it always smells delicious. I got the gringo tacos... 2 chicken 1 shredded beef. Since I was taking it to go, I asked for all the toppings on the side so the tacos wouldn't get soggy (and so I could save one to crisp up into the oven later before adding the lettuce/tomato). They had no problem doing it and let me tell you, the tacos were SO GOOD. I consider myself somewhat of a crispy taco savant lol and these were some of the best I've ever had. Didn't get a picture because I ate them so fast I forgot to take one lol but I will definitely be back for more. On another note, the service was also great. Easily my favorite spot for Mexican food in Westwood, and they have a fun name as well (hint: look up what "pinches" means in Spanish if you don't already know). Pinches Tacos is the definition of love at first bite! As soon as I bit into my juicy taco de asada I knew that I had found the best taco spot ever. I ordered the combo plate (al pastor, pollo mole, and pescado tacos) as well as horchata. Horchata: So flavorful with a strong cinnamon taste. I really enjoyed this! Plate: The al pastor taco was a little too salty for my taste, but the pescado and pollo mole tacos were so yummy! The fish in the pescado taco was lightly fried and paired with a crisp and refreshing slaw. I especially enjoyed the pollo mole taco- the sauce was so rich and flavorful! Local business with some decent tacos and really good taquitos! Nice and casual place. You simply order, sit down, get your food, eat, and go. Easy, efficient, effective. I like it. Price-wise two tacos and with a side of rice and beans will run you about $12. The business is in Westwood, so I understand the price. Taste-wise, the tacos weren't bad, but the meat is a tad on the dry side. I wish there was more salsa or more than one slice of lime to squeeze. Maybe I could've gotten more had I asked, so that's my fault. I was still able to feel full when I finished the plate though so the meal did it's job :) I like this restaurant's taquitos much more than their tacos, but I'll probably give the tacos another try before I make that final verdict. read more

They ave a very extensive menu, and I decided to try my go-to, the Carne Asada Burrito. I'm always looking... and hoping... that somewhere in LA will recreate the great CAB from the hole-in-the-wall joints in San Diego. Sadly, this was not the place. In addition, this meat tasted more like a brisket than steak. And, shame on me for not realizing that the rice and beans were inside the burrito. For some reason I thought maybe they came on the side. I like burritos with just the basics so I can really taste the flavor of the meat. This "brisket" burrito was ok. Nothing special. It did come with a few chips and some salsa (which was pretty good and I put some inside the burrito to help with flavor). I'd be willing to come back and try something else.. maybe a chicken quesadilla. The prices were very high... including a drink it was over $24. Yikes! read more

I've had Pinches Tacos bookmarked for so long, but every time we come to Westwood Mr. Noodle is our usual go-to. We finally decided to be adventurous and give Pinches Tacos a shot. Parking is slim pickings on this street but there's a parking garage directly across from the restaurant so don't be deterred. We got lucky and got a metered spot in front. We came right in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. When we walked in we had to wait a while before we were acknowledged. One of the workers said that they were behind on orders and asked if we could wait 5-10 minutes. Why not, it's not like we were in any rush (plus it gave us more time to look at the menu). The patio seating was all filled up as were the seats inside (individual counter seats and bench seating with a handicap spot by the front). By the time we got to actually place our order, the inside cleared out so we can't complain. My better half ordered two tacos (al pastor and asada). She liked the tacos but she got some blowback from them and had sauce squirt in her eye (ouchy). Beware I guess! I ordered the asada fries - very generous portion, shareable with 2-3 people. It was good but way too much for the both of us. While perfectly decent we wouldn't exactly go out of our way to go back. If you're in the area and craving Mexican food, Pinches Tacos is adequate - just be prepared for a long wait and some dirty/gross restrooms. read more

In town for a few days and had to stop at this amazing spot. I am a sucker for a burrito and they make some of the best. I opted to have lengua (beef tongue) which is very tender and this burrito is nice and packed enough to save half for later. I paired this whole meal with rice and beans with a lime jarritos. We were in the Westwood Village area looking for a quick dinner spot before the UCLA-Stanford basketball game at Pauley Pavilion. The Yelp search had Pinches Tacos second on the list. Knowing that "pinches tacos" means "fu¥¥ing tacos" in Spanish, we had to try the place. It wasn't the best, but the food was good. We both ordered the combination plate special that includes three tacos, beans, chips, and rice. The meat on the tacos is generous: my friend had to eat the meat off the tops of the tacos before being able to pick them up comfortably. I ordered two carnitas and one al pastor tacos, both very tasty. We also ordered fountain drinks. (Drinks are self-serve. See pictures.) My friend pointed out that the place is a 4/5: good, but not great. I agree. It wasn't a "Wow! I need to tell all my friends about this place!" but the food was good and flavorful. As for COVID-19 concerns, it wasn't very crowded just yet at 4:30 on a Saturday, so we ate inside.
