This review is strictly based on the hummus. I've been trying to find a hummus that comes close to the one at Bavel in DTLA, and this is the closest I've found. The hummus was incredibly smooth, rich, and perfectly seasoned. They even serve it with the same style of warm, fluffy bread, which made it that much better. What a great find! Went to this place today because of a reference from a food vloggers Vic and Jeff! This place is DELICIOUS! I had the half chicken shawarma hubby had a full wagyu beef shawarma. Each sandwich was filled to the brim of the pita with the protein, tomatoes, onions, parsley, tahini and amba sauce. The chicken meat was so moist and tender and hubby's wagyu beef was just as good. We also ordered the fried cauliflower and arayes. I love the fact that they have extra tahini and amba sauce out for you to put extra on your "sandwich" or meal. Can I tell you that my chicken pita was the star of the show that my husband had to eat my other half. The next best thing was their coffee! Anyone that knows me, knows I'm not a coffee drinker. I asked my husband to get me a small cup of the coffee and asked him to bring sugar too. Being kinda adventurous today, we decided to give this shawarma a try. Pretty surprised by the cozy and sizable space it provided, even giving cafe vibe. They're popular for their wagyu beef featured in their OG Shawarma. There's option to go for full or half pita and that pita was fully loaded with generous beef chunks. The tender grilled meat was well seasoned and complemented by onions and tomatoes. They served it with Tahini and Amba sauce, but we went extra with their schug (green hot sauce), which I highly recommended to try. I went with half a pita of the OG Wagyu Beef Shawarma here and that was more than plenty. The beef was well seasoned and perfectly cooked on that spit and generously piled into the pita. The fries were perfectly cooked and crispy as well. They also offer two sauces to eat your pita with and both are very flavorful. I liked the orange one a little bit better cause I think they mix a little bit of fruit into it so it had a bit of a zest. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and heard so many good things about this place. Matter of fact, I came here yesterday and I came back again today because it was so damn good. I got the same thing (creature of habit! Don't fix what ain't broken!) the Wagyu shawarma makes this elite!!! Don't get me started on the soft-as-my-ass pita!!!! And the fries that are fried in beef tallow with flaky sea salt?! OMG. I simply cannot. I have found my new go-to spot and I don't believe it will be changing any time soon. And they do NOT skimp out on the meat! The onions and other items were also nicely distributed throughout the sandwich. On my second day (next day... aka today lol) Mack (hoped I spelled it right) was kind enough to let me try the red sauce since I got the green sauce yesterday lmao. This place is great. The staff is super nice and very informative in the food and making sure we know what we're looking for. The fast casual place does a good job of packing the full pita wagyu beef shawarma I got. I also ordered a fried cauliflower and my friend ordered a hummus plate spicy. The food was great. The wagyu beef was very tender and flavorful. The sauce and veggies and super soft pita really made everything work together very well. The fried cauliflower was fried very well without making it too soggy. The spicy hummus was very flavorful and unique and I'd come back to try their ayares and other items they have on their menu.
