I was in town for a work meeting, and I was staying not far off of New Bern Ave. This amazing little Italian restaurant is good! The host was nice, and the lady cooking was nice! It was like stepping back into the early 2000's! The food was super delicious, I didn't have to wait long and was given a beer and a glass of water! I should have tried some wine! This little establishment is awesome!

There are more tables inside than I thought. There is room for a party of 10. We were greeted by our friendly waiter. They have a nice selection in their menu. Their menu has a great range of Italian food from pastas to pizza. They have wonderful dessert selection. We started with cups of water that were refilled often. I had a side garden salad with homemade ranch dressing. Delicious! My friend and I decided to share a Margherita pizza. You know what? This pizza was really good! The crust was soft and flavorful. The cheese was fresh. The tomatoes seemed like they were hand picked! I really enjoyed this meal and service. This wonderful lady...I'm assuming the chef hand delivered each dish. It was a very personable touch. I noticed they have take out options. I am going to add this hidden gem to my places to eat on this side of town.

Was recommended to go here for authentic food. This was a great experience. The chef greeted us on the way in and the wait staff were very attentive. We all picked something from the house specials and it came out looking and tasting great. Will definitely go back.

I took my team members for a lunch meeting, and it was good. This place has great options, especially during lunch. It has 3 lunch menus: Lunch specials, chef's specials and the regular menu. I had the fettuccini alfredo with chicken and it was not bad at all. The restaurant is centrally located in a shopping plaza with its own free parking lot. If you are not familiar with the area, the GPS will take you straight to it. Good stuff!

I had the beef/lamb gyro, then this is the Italian sub. I've been here twice for lunch, every time it is delicious. All the vegetables are fresh and crunchy. u can taste the difference between a McDonald's tomato and the stuff they use here . The Food is made with care. I definately will be coming back to this place. Service was excellent, my cup never went below 1/2 full and food came out quickly. Tables were clean and bathroom was clean

Me and my friend came in to have dinner before our concert last night. We ordered a glass of wine each. Calamari for an appetizer and we asked our server which I think is the owner's son from a prior visit if we can split the 10in margarita pizza. He gave us kinda of an awkward look and said well you might as well get the 14inch because I will have to charge you a split fee because it's such a small pizza. I was a little puzzled and said really? He said yup very short and rude. So after that it seemed he was kinda distant. I'm not sure if he judged us from that moment. He brought us out the calamari. It was small portioned and really just fried batter for the most part. Then dropped our pizza off. When he walked back by finally I requested if we could have some pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese. He came back shortly after dropped them off. Once we finished I had to wave him down for our bill. As you can see on the bill. He Charged us $2.50 for the Parmesan which he did not mention it would be a up charge before bringing it out. He also charged us a 15% gratuity charge. I went there one time prior on business with another person about a year ago. Never up charged us for Parmesan or added gratuity. I'm not sure what kinda business they're running but that will be my last visit.

Stopped in for lunch as they had a few tables for outside dining. Chicken Parm sub was filling, nice taste. Fries were bland and undercooked. Got a dinner salad and did not like the dressing (which was on the side). They wanted to charge me for another dressing. Paid $28 for lunch (iced tea, sub, fries, and salad) and wanted to charge extra for dressing replacement. Price to value is not aligned.

We weren't able to make the reservation for 12 because it only goes up to 10 on OpenTable. We ended up having to make the reservation for 6 at one table and 6 at the other table. To tease us, they put the tables right across from each other and put a table of 2 right in between us. To make matters worse is that we were celebrating our wedding so it would've been nice to have us all together. The restaurant gave me and my husband champagne to try to comp this I suppose but would've been better if they could've seated us all together. We started with the crab cakes and arancini. The crab cakes were fine. The otter crust was crunchy and perfect. The arancini was stuffed with cheese, rice, and meat and it was delicious. They were also crunchy on the outside but so soft and good on the inside. I had the tagliatelle. The noodles were prepared perfectly. It was almost as if I was in Italy. Something I noticed in Italy was that the noodles were never cooked too softly. They were still more firm but edible and delicious and that's how they were prepared at this restaurant in Raleigh. The dish was excellent and very tasty. My husband had the medium rare Ribeye with peppercorn sauce over mashed potatoes with sautéed seasonal vegetables. This dish was prepared perfectly. The ribeye was delicious and mashed potatoes had a great consistency about it and seasoned well.

I adore the bar top design. After my date arrived and a few drinks later, we decided to sit outside for dinner at a table. It was a chilly night, so they had heaters facing the tables, and the outside matched the loveliness of the inside. I had the lasagna, which had that delicious classic Italian taste. The meal, cocktails, and wine were all perfect; my only gripe was the customer service. I felt like we were being rushed out, especially when the server interrupted us to ask if we were done.

The air smells of simmering sauces and fresh basil, and the wine list is longer than the restaurant. With a wink and a 'Prego, signore,' we are whisked through the clink of wine glasses and the perfume of fresh garlic. Past tables humming with chatter, our host guides us to the coveted window seat, where the view is as rich as the tiramisu and every passerby becomes part of your evening's theater. We start off the evening with those golden risotto balls, crisp outside, dreamy inside -- like tiny treasures from Nonna's kitchen -- served with bread so fresh it still remembers the oven. But then our chicken parm struts onto the table wearing a crown of molten mozzarella, swimming in a sea of rich, tangy marinara -- unapologetically over the top. Right beside it, a plate of plump ravioli bathed in creamy vodka sauce, so smooth and decadent you'll want to toast it with your wine before taking a bite. Bold and beautiful. And to finish, a fine espresso -- dark, rich, and just a little bit bossy -- alongside the day's dessert, which happened to be Bananas Foster. It's the kind of ending that makes you want to start all over again. Now on to the show! Cheers!

But... too many misses in too many areas. They belong in the Guide, but I don't think they're near a star. Some specifics: 1) The red snapper crudo is a mess. It's a delicate fish that needs a lot of room and light treatment to shine. Here it's doused in so much acid - tomatoes, peppers, vinegar - that if you closed your eyes, you wouldn't guess snapper in a million years. 2) The gem lettuces are... a Caesar salad. A pretty good Caesar, but there's just nothing notable. Little or no anchovy bite or citrus to balance the heavy hand of the dressing. 3) The service is hurried. I ordered 3 courses and was less than 50 min from sitting down to check. I appreciate a snappy kitchen, but this felt rushed. (On a side note... I sent back a cider that I hadn't realized was going to be so cloyingly sweet. Not a big deal - my risk when I ordered it - but it would've been a nice touch to take it off the bill given that I didn't touch it and ordered a much more expensive glass of wine in its place. It's little moves that shape a diner's overall experience.) It's a beautiful spot and a nice Mediterranean meal, but I wouldn't rate it among (for example) the dozen or so 1-stars in the DC area. Fiola (Italian) is a useful comparison. Several flourishes in the cooking and a higher level of service that make it star-worthy in its class.

Their roast beef panini is on par with Portillo's a long standing Chicago beef restaurant (IYKYK). I've NEVER had a beef sandwich that was better than Portillo's but Postino you managed to take a hometown classic and elevate it to a point beyond my expectations - if you get this sandwich I recommend getting it on the ciabatta bread versus focaccia. Let's not overlook the tomato soup - it's so rich and flavorful. For a lighter lunch my go to is the tuna panini with broccoli salad. They are known for their boards, I've not had the bruschetta yet but it looks delicious. My favorite board is the hummus. One thing I hate is when a restaurant gives you a big bowl of hummus and not enough pita. That is not the case here, you'll get pita, toasted bread, and a variety of vegetables to scoop up the velvety humus covered in cherry tomatoes, red onion and feta. For date night enjoy a Violet Femme a gin cocktail that tastes as lovely as it looks. The service here is top notch! Everyone is fantastic. I'll have to come back to this review to note the serves names we've had because they have all been exceptional. Now let's talk about the vibe! Postino's nailed the indoor/outdoor feel. Plenty of windows that are open on nice days, plants galore and the decor gives you a cool like rockstar but classy feel. 5 stars doesn't feel like enough.
