This was a fun time. Place was popping off and everyone was having a grand time. Food was great! We ordered a bunch of rolls and they were all ranging from good to great. Also got some standard items like spicy tuna on crunchy rice and some sashimi. Standout choices are rolls. You can the standard fare anywhere. 5/5 for food 3.5/5 for prices/value, 5/5 for vibe and decor. 4/5 overall.

Came here for their weekday $32 lunch menu. I tried coming here on a Wednesday night and it was so packed that they weren't taking anymore walkins at 7pm, so made a res on a Friday lunch just in case. Their lunch menu actually came with a lot of food: edamame, crispy rice, sashimi, and 3 hand rolls. The hand rolls included don't have raw fish, but they let you substitute, and some have an upcharge. I love the aesthetic of this place, and like how there is all diff kind of seating: bar, table, outside. The food was good quality and I like how they give the hand rolls one at a time, but I don't think they do that at the table. I would come back for the lunch special, but not that often for dinner because it's pricey!

Another trendy, overcrowded spot in Brentwood. The food was very good. However, the order of Tuna Crispy Rice never showed up so we canceled it. Was super loud inside. We sat inside at the bar but had to use outside voices to hear each other. Bartender was super nice.

Sora is beautifully designed with a clean, minimalist interior. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away even though there was a line and we didn't have reservations. I ordered the toro truffle jalapeño, red snapper with yuzu and truffle, and the yellowtail jalapeño. Surprisingly, the red snapper was my favorite, but at nearly $10 per piece, I didn't feel it justified the price. We also ordered the spicy garlic edamame. The flavor was good, but the edamame was severely overcooked and mushy, which was disappointing. For drinks, I ordered the passion fruit margarita and asked if they could substitute the tequila with mezcal. They said yes, but when the bill arrived, I noticed they had added an $8 surcharge for the mezcal on top of an already $18 cocktail. I was disappointed that no one mentioned there would be an additional charge beforehand. My girlfriend ordered the Whiskey Business, but it tasted more like a poorly made Manhattan than the cocktail we expected. Overall, I left underwhelmed, especially considering the prices. While the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a few standout bites, the food, drinks, and lack of transparency about the upcharge didn't make the experience feel worthwhile. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

With the success of their West Hollywood location at the Farmers Market they've made their over to Brentwood and I got to try the Tamaki experience for myself. The exterior alone is so inviting and would be a sexy date night spot. The food was delicious and although I've had hand rolls before, I've never truly had a Tamaki experience. The drinks were amazing and delicious coffee. Overall, it was amazing. The service was 10 out of 10 from all of the staff especially Angel and Janice were absolutely great. I'll definitely be back in the near future.

Came here around 5 p.m. on a Saturday before the dinner rush, and it was the perfect time to go. They have a beautiful dog-friendly patio, which was a huge plus, and the service was exceptional from start to finish, easily 10/10. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. We started with the spicy edamame, which definitely had some heat, but I thought it could have used a little more salt. The spicy tuna over crispy rice was just okay. The tuna itself was fresh and the crispy rice had a great texture, but the sauce was much sweeter than I expected and overpowered the dish. We also tried the albacore, Wagyu, eggplant, snapper, black cod, and jalapeño tuna. The black cod, snapper and jalapeño tuna were absolutely outstanding, those were the stars of the meal and I'd order both again in a heartbeat. A few of the other dishes could use some refinement. The eggplant was a little too mushy, the albacore wasn't cut quite right and lacked flavor, and the Wagyu slices were thicker than we would have preferred, which made the texture a bit chewy. Overall, 4 out of 5. The service and atmosphere were fantastic, and while a few dishes missed the mark, the standout items were so good that we'll definitely be back. Next time, we'll just be a little more selective with our order.

Sora brings an elevated, vibe to the temaki/hand roll experience that sets it apart from a Kazu or Yumoni. You walk into a spacious warm space that has a good blend of Mediterranean and Japanese design vibes. You are free to choose your own adventure from a diverse list of temaki along with some apps (as of now, no liquor license but the bar is primed to host). Spicy tuna crispy rice - decent start. The crispy rice was very nicely batter like a superb tator tot; just felt it over powered the tuna a bit. Tuna sashimi - tasty, fresh cuts Red snapper temaki - was fair but not very memorable Seared toro - can't go wrong here. Good cut and flavorful Spicy lobster - good flavor, more sweet than spicy but enjoyable Service was a bit odd at times but they'll work it out over time. Overall a nice addition to Brentwood.

The absolute best for hand rolls. This place has been open for a few months and I'm super excited to see it thriving. Everything is made fresh to order and they also have a full bar to enjoy sake or have an amazing cocktail. The quality of the fish is amazing whether you're ordering the blue fin tuna, toro jalapeño truffle or something new like the seared Nogoduro. We sat at the sushi bar and had some great recommendations from our server Santiago. I don't think I would've ever tried the seared kinmedai or the seared Nogoduro without his recommendations. The ambiance is trendy and a perfect fit for Brentwood. Perfect stable here and hope for many years of success. Thanks again and looking forward to next time.

High end sushi place that goes a bit over the top with its elitism. Food: 4.5/5 Incredible, actually. The classic rolls are yummier than the fancy rolls. Our rating for the rolls are as follows... Spicy Salmon Jalapeño-- 5/5 Scallop-- 5/5 Wagyu-- 4/5 Eel-- 4/5 Spicy Crispy Rice Tuna-- 3/5 Red Snapper-- 2/5 Our one quip is the portions are small, ESPECIALLY so for the Spicy Crispy Rice Tuna Appetizer. The pieces are as big as my entire thumb finger. The most popular item is apparently the Red Snapper. We all did not like it: there's a weird overpowering spice, and it is too citrusy. Service: 4/5 Very thoughtful care! Staff were consistently clearing our table and refilling water. Atmosphere: 4/5 This is a beautiful place, and there's a lot of thought put into the atmosphere. It just felt gimmicky. Everything is branded. They give you seaweed in a treasure box. There are servers just standing around like bodyguards and influencers everywhere. We felt a bit awkward eating, like it wasn't a meal but a scripted experience. It's not a big issue, and it doesn't really detract from our tasty meal. We just felt a bit out of place. I would recommend this place for a work dinner, a romantic date night, and food influencer content. Final rating: 4.17/5 (rounding down to 4)

Girls night done right at Sora! Bar seating is the way to go, you get to see all the action and don't have to get too messy rolling up your own rolls. First up- WAIT TIME: we called ahead to see if they take walk ins, as it was Saturday night and the next table for 2 wasn't available until 9pm. We walked up around 7:30 and were seated at the bar right away (thank you Angel)! APPETIZERS - we started our tasting journey with an **Off Menu Cocktail** called "The Hulk." It was super refreshing basil / gin based cocktail, the perfect pairing for sushi! Our server Joshua recommended it and we couldn't have been happier. I'm on a mission to find the best Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and this one was well ranked: soft pillowy rice with a little crispy and nice level of spice! HAND ROLLS Let's get into it! This place is a little on the pricey side so I wanted to check out a variety without going overboard.... SEARED TORO: 4/5 solid but the texture was a little tough rather than fall apart buttery UNI ROLL: 10/10 so good, so much uni, worth it! ALBACORE ROLE: 5/5 was my favorite until the Uni came out. Skip the appetizer and dive right into the hand-roll! So delicious and the crispy onions on top were chefs kiss! SCALLOP: 4/5 had high hopes and it was really tasty! But I think I'm more of a raw scallops girl. If it was more of a raw Hokkaido scallop with some yuzu lemon, it would've been worth the price for me. Still nice flavor and texture but leaned more into the buttery side. DESSERT MOCHI: really yummy, strawberry was my favorite. OVERALL: great date spot! Sit at the sushi bar to watch Chef Benny work is magic. Double down on the cheaper hand rolls but ball out for some Uni and the spicy tuna crispy rice to start your tasting adventure. Big thank you to Angel, Joshua, and Janice for taking such great care of us! We'll be back!

Great first experience at Sora. The bar is spacious and has bag hooks. Food was fresh and came out so quickly (even the appetizers that aren't made right in front of you when you sit at the bar). I recommend 4-8 per person. I had 6 and my fiance had 8 - they are hard to share since they are like tacos. Recommend only sharing appetizers and not the rolls.

This is definitely one of my new favorite sushi spots! All of the food was so delicious, it was impossible to pick a favorite truly. We sat at the Temaki Bar which was fun and the space is beautifully designed. All of the servers were very friendly too. My fiance and I couldn't decide on 3-4 temaki to each get so we decided to order 7 total and share them. They may seem small but we each got 2 bites out of each temaki which was a great way to try so many of them. We started with the spicy tuna crispy rice appetizer, then for the temaki we got: salmon truffle, albacore crispy onion, tuna poke, spicy lobster, ora king salmon, coconut shrimp, and seared ora king salmon, then had mochi ice cream for dessert. The only one I probably wouldn't order again was the ora king salmon but only because it had a strong wasabi taste which I'm just personally not a fan of (my fiance still loved that one). They accidentally sent us a seared toro instead of a seared ora king salmon so we ended up getting to try both. Definitely a little bit on the pricier side compared to something like Kazunori, but it felt like a totally different experience so definitely worth the splurge. Can't wait to come back!

The food that took an hour and had way too much wasabi on it

Waited an hour for our food and they weren't even sorry about it and didn't offer anything to help make our experience a little bit better like a free beverage or anything like that and when we asked for ginger, they took 20 minutes to bring it, and they gave us attitude about it. Food quality

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

Nice of the chef to switch out roe for halibut for me on my omakase. However, probably the worst omakase I've ever had. No creativity, nothing felt premium, chewy fish, flavors didn't mesh, and half of it was salty. The miso soup wasn't scorching, which i appreciated at first but that meant the last few sips were fairly room temp. The real crab handroll was good. If the price point was $35 sushi set I'd give 5/5 but this is supposed to be premium omakase. I've been to other Sushi Enya locations and had good experiences, so this was very disappointing. Stick to the rolls and nigiri.
