A beautiful modern sushi restaurant in Century City mall. The rolls and other dishes are best quality!! Highly recommended

Lunch Special: 1. Caesar Salad Gem Lettuce 2. Miso Black Cod My Miso Soup was missing :( The salad was delicious! The Miso Black Cod was flavorful as the marinade seeped through the fish. It was a nice dish. I was afraid my fish swam away, but it arrived. The service was quick and friendly. Overall, a nice dining experience.

Food and ambiance were good. Service left something to be desired. Stopped in on a weekday for lunch after doing some shopping. There were not a lot of guests and the restaurant was largely empty. We sat at the sushi bar, which, despite being indoors, carried a cool breeze from the entrance. Would recommend dressing in layers, especially if here for the evening. Our sushi chef was pleasant and took our order. Our actual server was barely around, didn't introduce himself when he finally appeared, and had a somewhat unfriendly demeanor. Overall fish was fresh and refreshing. The yellowtail jalapeno was standard Katsuya fare, the sushi moriawase featured an interesting variety of fish that did not disappoint and came with a Katsuya specialty roll (a cucumber-wrapped roll that came with a tart dipping sauce). Robata eggplant was fine as a side dish but probably wouldn't order again. Would probably come back if in the area. Doesn't stand out compared to other Katsuya locations.

Katsuya has a beautiful, spacious interior with a stylish, upscale atmosphere that makes it a great spot for lunch or dinner. The restaurant feels much larger than expected, and the modern decor creates a lively yet comfortable vibe. The service was excellent throughout our meal--friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was a bit mixed. The miso cod was decent but slightly dry and saltier than I expected, so it wasn't my favorite dish. The house salad was fresh, but there was a little too much cheese for my taste, which overpowered the other ingredients. Overall, I really enjoyed the ambiance and hospitality. While a couple of dishes could have been better, the beautiful setting and outstanding service made for an enjoyable dining experience, and I'd come back to try more of the menu.

The inside space here is actually so pretty and unassuming!! Food here is so delicious, every item was really good. Yellowtail nigiri, A5 wagyu fried rice, and the smoked salmon roll was amazing. Service was very good as well. Overall food comes kind of slow but it's really good overall.

A non service dog, in the restaurant. At the bar!

Not only do they not care about the health code laws involving dogs, as there was a woman seated by the host at the bar, holding her dog, but the food was lack luster. The blue crab roll just didn't hit, maybe because there was mostly paper and rice. The fish and chips tasted so fishy, I wasted the last piece. The karage wasn't on point either. Just the same batter and SAME tartar sauce! This place had nothing but ambiance! However, I prefer ambiance without someone's dog who has been walking in feces/piss/cough flem/spit, shedding hair, etc., next to me, while I'm eating dinner!!!

This review is for the bar at Katsuya only. We stopped in for a drink after shopping. The interior is large, open, dramatic and beautiful. The light fixtures hanging from the ceiling, which are industrial and huge, and really add to the ambience. Seating areas include a sushi bar, a regular bar, and tables. We sat at the bar and the bartender who waited on us was very nice and made a mean old fashioned. We ended up trying a Katsuya Roll and it was fresh but the flavor was just ok. Will come back another time to try the full dinner menu, and also to try Casa Dani which is owned by the same company and is attached to Katauya.

Beautiful location in Century City mall that took over one of the marquee locations in the area. You walk into a completely zen and modern space with very friendly and helpful staff. We walked in without a reservation at about 5:30 on a Sunday and were able to grab a spot at the bar but by the time we left it was packed! We ordered several items - katsuya is known for their tuna crispy rice but we tried the salmon crispy which was good but I think I like the tuna better. We also ordered the cucumber salad which was refreshing. The star of the night though was the miso cod with nicely grilled broccolini. Really nicely prepared and tasty. Also had some good mocktails as well!

Beautiful, spacious restaurant with a really welcoming atmosphere - it feels upscale but still comfortable. We ordered the salmon, black cod, baked crab roll, and crispy tuna rice, and every single dish was excellent. The fish tasted incredibly fresh. Service was just as impressive as the food. Staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out smoothly without us ever feeling rushed. Overall, a fantastic dining experience great food, great ambiance, and great service. Definitely a place we'd come back to.

Finally made it to their new location in Century City. I give this place a 3 1/2 stars at best, we were literally the first customers and the whole restaurant. The restaurant is huge! I will have to say the service was not optimal, very mediocre service. It was on a Sunday day after Valentine's Day. Their food was also just OK very mediocre. Nothing like what Katsuya used to be like. But the prices have definitely gone up, but the service and quality of food has really gone down. They do also charge a lovely "wellness of extra 5%" to the Bill to help offset the servers or I should say the employees medical benefit benefits. Hate this! But we still left 20% so essentially you're leaving 25% on a hefty bill. With such a huge restaurant organization, this should be their responsibilities go take care of their employees and not the customers. Will be our last time I will be going there. Food: Appetizers- * seaweed salad- good, typical of any Japanese restaurant * hamachi & Serrano- very good not fishy * spicy tuna over crispy rice - they add butter to it so it had a funky taste * Shishido peppers- spicy little guys! More than usual and I like spice! * avocado and cucumber roll EntréeS: shared with the table) * A5 fried rice- did not like, don't bother, very bland and salty flavored $50 something dish (sent back) * short ribs- very tender and taste pretty good just too much sauce for my liking. Kind of miss on the side something vinegar to cut the richness of the dish. * Katsuya roll- interesting but would not think this was their signature roll.., wasn't anything special. * some sushi - fresh Dessert- * mochi donuts- pretty good chewy morsels. Overall dining wasn't something I would drive far for. I drove over an hr to get here. Not much food for 3 but we left full and bill over $300.

DELISH! Everything we had was amazing; I really love that they have smaller bites Wagyu! The mushrooms were soooo good. The cod and rock shrimp ... you can't go wrong with; always amazing! Place is beautiful and immaculate - I felt like I was at a resort restaurant; staff is so wonderful! Applause all around! Definitely a place to come bac

FINALLLLYY got to try Katsuya. Everyone hypes it up & now i understand why. You will have such a good time. The Yellowtail is so fresh, layered with sprouts & jalepeno The Bluefin is just so tasty you definitely need to order it. However, the spicy tuna crunchy rice was surprisingly mid & needed a sauce or something for more flavor. Food aside, the vibes are upbeat, classy, & picture perfect.

So happy this place opened here! I love coming for lunch and getting their signature lunch special. Nothing can beat that. The spicy tuna rice cracker is one of the best that I've ever tasted, the baked crab roll is so delicious, and all the other sashimi that come with it. They have the best iced green tea and the ambiance is very nice. Just a gorgeous restaurant. And definitely my favorite restaurant in the Century City mall.

No debate, no hesitation. Just ramen. I had tried this spot at another location before and remembered liking it, so it felt like a safe, comforting choice for a long overdue catch-up. We got there at that in-between hour... not quite lunch, not quite dinner. The kind of time where the restaurant feels like it's just exhaling. It was completely empty except for us, which honestly made everything feel a little more intimate--like the space was ours for the afternoon. We sat down and immediately slipped into conversation, picking up right where we left off after graduation. Life updates, little wins, quiet struggles... the kind of conversation that only comes easy with people who've known you for years. And in between all that, our mouths were busy. The ramen came out hot, comforting, and exactly what we needed. Rich broth, satisfying noodles--one of those meals where you don't even realize how hungry you were until you take the first bite. We kept pausing mid-sentence just to take another bite, then laughing because we couldn't decide what deserved more attention: the food or the conversation. Service was really attentive without being intrusive. They somehow knew when to check in and when to let us just exist in our little bubble. The music was soft, not overpowering, so we never had to raise our voices or repeat ourselves--something I appreciate more and more these days. We stayed longer than we probably planned, but it didn't feel rushed at all. Just two old friends, warm bowls of ramen, and a space that let us slow down for a bit. Definitely one of those simple meals that turns into a really good memory.
