Here's an updated review: Today I went to Soro My Way with my Friend Rosie. She'd always wanted to try it. The ambience inside hasn't changed, it's still very relaxed & delicious smelling inside. We sat down at a table & a glass of water was placed in front of us. They must use a great water filter because water lately tastes like bleach. This was great water! A few moments later a side of thin crust pizza was placed on the table as an appetizer instead of just bread, nice! We each ordered an entree. Rosie got eggplant parmigiana & it came with a side of fresh made pasta. I got the spinach fettuccine & yes, the Fettuccine was freshly made! Everything we got (caprese salad, Bruschetta, rice ball, bolognese, chicken parm, cheese pizza, focaccia, lemochello cake and the pistachio cake) were OUTSTANDING!!!! 100% authentic as it can get! No clue how this place is still in business. It's unfortunate how badly run this restaurant is. Every dish I've had here is underwhelming and small. I figured as they got more established the food would get better but it does not. The worst experience was most recently when we ordered a standard calzone. Their calzone is not normal at all. It had thin slices of potato that looked and felt like the texture of a raw onion and low grade meat. There was barely any cheese and zero ricotta in this calzone. Not only that but I actually laughed when I saw it because the entire calzone was burnt - literally black. To my surprise after trying a bite the bottom was severely undercooked and doughy. Just so odd. FYI carbonara is supposed to be their staple but I was not a fan. Super bland and underwhelming but I'd definitely order that over the calzone any day!! If you are looking for amazing food, friendly staff and and adorable setting this is your place! It's BYOB if you are feeling something that's not on their menu. But the food it's made with love . I'm talking grandma style from Italy, but Instead of a grandma the master cook is Marco. The fresh ingredients recreate home-cooking on a master level. You can't go wrong with anything you order but we had the bruschetta, caprese, cannelloni, and arugula pizza (special). Relatively new BYOB restaurant that is a nice addition to Wethersfield that isn't a chain restaurant although Wethersfield already has a pretty good selection of locally owned italian restaurants. Went as a group of 5 on a Wednesday night for 5:30 - couldn't find a single spot in the parking lot behind the restaurant and had to walk from another business on the Silas Deane Highway in the rain to get there -plan accordingly and try and carpool to make your life easier. If you come to done when the vet clinic is closed, it seems they may not mind if you park there but they were still open when we arrived for dinner so we didn't want to use their lot without permission. Once seated, started with the antipasto platter and 2 suppli (risotto balls -not sure why they aren't called arancini) . The suppli are large egg shaped and were able to be shared among 5 of us - individual per person might be too large depending on what you plan on ordering for your dinner. For dinner, we had the sora my way pizza and the pizza with the pepper flakes and also ordered a chicken parm entree to share just so we could all try multiple things on the menu. Thought the pizzas were pretty good - crust was a little chewy in a good way. Next time would try either pepperoni or meatball as the classics to compare to other restaurants. Thought the chicken Parmesan was a little salty for me but would likely try in again since things vary by day by chef and maybe that one was just a little heavy handed. Atmosphere - clean and relatively contemporary - thought the temperature was a little chilly and one of my friends left her coat on the entire time so plan accordingly. Because there was a party there before we got there, our party of 5 had to be seated at a circle table intended for 4. It was fine for seating and conversation but we had to put some things on the floor (wine bottles, etc ) because once the pizza came, we didn't have enough room for everything. Be flexible and it won't matter-nobody seemed to mind. All that food and only $ 20 per person out the door including over a 20% tip for the server - love BYOB and sharing with friends - it's fun ! read more

OK, here's the thing. If all you've had your life is Americanized Italian food, this place may not make sense to you. However, if you've been to Italy and had several meals there, you will feel like you are basking in the shadow of the Colosseum while you are eating the homemade spinach fettuccine at this amazing restaurant. It's a family-run establishment, and it's wonderful to see how they all work together to make sure their customers are well cared for. All of the bread is made there, so you know it's fresh. All of the pasta is made there, so you know it's fresh. My mother and I went for lunch, and we enjoyed everything we ate. We started with the mussels in a white sauce, which had lots of thinly sliced garlic in it, and was topped with fresh parsley. She ordered a Caprese mini sandwich, and I ordered a fatini and broccoli rabe mini sandwich. Both the meat and rabe were tender and flavorful. My mother thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich, commenting on how good the pesto was. We couldn't resist trying the spinach fettuccine and asked for a half portion, which was incredibly generous. It was tossed in a homemade marinara sauce, and it was light, bright, and beautiful. Everything was incredibly reasonably priced, which was a delightful surprise, considering the quality of the food. We both noted that this place will be a new favorite, and that next time we would bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with our meal, since this place is BYOB. I've tried Sora My Way a few times now, and I really want to like them, but they just mess up on too much for me to give them more than two stars. The chicken parm is good and I enjoy the homemade side of pasta. There's a generous amount of sauce and it tastes great. Unfortunately, this is where the positive points end. We tried the Sora Calzone and it is actually just horrible. I've always said "you can never screw up a calzone," but somehow they did. The calzone is half empty inside, burnt on top, undercooked on the bottom, and the filling of potato, sauce, and meat is just strange. Since this is the only calzone on their menu, I really thought this was just a normal cheese calzone, but I should have read the description more closely because it is anything bought a normal calzone. It's also strange that they don't even have a regular cheese calzone on the menu, this is it. The carbonara is okay, but I've had much better. Since I do like the sauce and the pasta, they have potential to be much better, which is why I went back a few times since they opened. read more

Great family-owned restaurant. The food was delicious and prices were reasonable. The owner was so friendly and accommodating. The portions were big and served quickly. We tried the pasta bolognese and fettuccine carbonara - both authentic and delicious. Next time I will ask for the pasta to be cooked a little more - I am not an al dente person. I will definitely go again. Very simple inside and you can see them cooking the meal. Parking isn't the best (lots of stairs to climb if that is an issue unless you can get a spot out front. I just wanna say how disappointed I am with the service I received here. They are awful, on the online site it does not break down the ingredients in the "sora calzone" I am allergic to mushrooms and it included them. When I discovered this and called trying to get an exchange I was told no, how would I know what a "sora" contains. This is a horrible establishment, with horrible customer service. Go somewhere else. And the sandwich we ordered was garbage as well. Go ANYWHERE else. I want to support local but Domino's will treat you better. read more

My wife and I had a late afternoon lunch today and we were blown away by the food. We have been to Italy many times and the food and friendly service reminded us of being in An Osteria in Italy. We started with a Caprese salad and the homemade pesto sauce was delicious. When then had the pasta with Bolognese and the pasta carbonara. Home made pasta and both sauces were delicious!! I'm sorry but it's a sandwich. It comes with peppers and onions. BEWARE, there is no cheese on their eggplant parm. The eggplant was ok. I drove back and the chef gave me a hard time. I don't like to argue, but he was determined. Overly attentive staff, felt like we were being watched during most of the time there. Ordered the calamari, rather meh with minimal marinara to dip. Bread was like a small baguette, hard crust. Meatball side was very tender and a generous size. I ordered broccoli rabe with sausage, added pasta. Very skimpy on the sausage. This place is not your typical restaurant. The chef is from Rome, his dishes are your typical Roman style dishes, they are really good.
