This place is just down the hill from us and we enjoy going here. The food is good, staff are friendly, and they have a good selection of beverages, even a local beer (Local 47). We have been several times and the pizza, pasta, appetizers, and salads have all been flavorful and good portions. We arrived at Gino's, and the 4 of us tried to sit in to eat. A young hostess said they do not have room or waiters and only in chef available. We were in the dining room and there was one table of people and many open tables, was crazy. So my wife and I ordered a pizza and a calzone to go as did not want to wait. Our friends started to order and the manager walked by and said we have no dough. So my wife says well I need a refund and the kid at the counter said I will see if we can. We said, not if but how. The manager came out angry had to do A refund because he had no dough. Was a horrible experience with rude people and very unhelpful. Who knows if the food is any good, they did not want to serve it apparently. Worst part is there is a cart of dough they are stretching right behind the counter so I could see it. If I were the owner I would fire them all, if one of them was the owner what a shame. They will not be in business long. Horrible experience, horrible people, would not recommend. read more

Came to this place by chance. Thank goodness we did. The pizza was fresh and delicious. Great crust. The pasta was fantastic and our server was excellent. Kat went above and beyond for us. Pizza heaven!! So happy this place is not too far from us. Right when you enter you can see pizza making in action, pretty cool. We sat at the bar but there's plenty of space to eat your whole pie. We haven't tried the other dishes but hope to sit in the dining area one day! Pizza is not too thin or not too thick, just perfect. You can literally smell the fresh garlic on the crust. I enjoy Gino's pizza but my favorite things are the chop-chop and the zucchini fritti. So yummy!

Tried this cozy Italian spot last night with my husband. Very romantic setting, considering it was in a strip mall! Such a wonderful surprise!! The food and the service were excellent!! Ordered take out tonight for dinner. It was so hot out today, I didn't know what I felt like eating. After looking over the menu, the Chicken Marsala caught my eye.. So that's what I ordered, and my husband ordered a Pepperoni Pizza. I really enjoyed that Chicken Marsala! It came with some noodles and roasted Brussel Sprouts. Yummm! Gino's Pizza is by far my favorite pizza place in the area. NE Tacoma doesn't have a lot of high-quality places to eat, so we often do take out from Gino's. Our favorite pizza is pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and black olives. Yes, it's not as cheap as Dominoes, and thank goodness. It reminds me of my favorite New York style pizza that I grew up with in Vegas (Metro Pizza - originally New York Pizza). My sons always say "Gino's" when I ask them what they want when they come to visit, and one of them works at a Rock Pizza. I'm not sure Patrick works there anymore, but when he did, you could taste the love he put into each pie! read more

I haven't been to this restaurant for years before they moved Gino's to NE Tacoma where lack of parking keeps me away and the price is not too inviting. My mother asked to come to this place she wanted pasta I didn't want to cook. So we parked and walked in. Only one sever/bartender she was nice not a fake nice and she paid attention to the tables and the bar she had by herself. She was busy but good. They have pizza on their menu it's the main draw. I really have to be in the mood for pizza so I didn't want any. They have a section of their menu that is 3 courses ranging from about $20 to $26 a side salad or Caesar salad or a side salad with a few choices of dressings, entree and ice cream. We ordered the Lasagna and penne pasta with chicken and sausage. The bread with oil and balsamic was ok very dense bread it was fine but heavy tasted fine with the very light oil and balsamic. The salads came in a nice little bowl it looked good but was a little hard to eat my Caesar was definitely better than other places that serve Caesar salad I could taste the anchovy and and the oil it did have a strong vinegar flavor to it but it was creamy as it should be. The romaine lettuce was not cut well or trimmed well the they use whole romain lettuce not hearts they left a lot of the bitter dark green leaves but didn't really go through them I got a lot of brown edges and the rest of the lettuce was partly cut, I had to cut the lettuce up in order to eat it. The bowl made cutting the lettuce a bit difficult it was a tall bowl not a wide one the lettuce needs to be pre cut when served in a bowl like this. I happen to enjoy a real Caesar salad made with full uncut romain leaves that I have to cut myself served on a plate so I can do so. Caesars hotel in Tijuana Mexico makes the best Caesar salad in the world you have to cut your self. The dressing was the best part of the Caesar at this place so I do recommend you order their Caesar the lettuce is a vender issue and a prep cook probably being in a hurry so many restaurants and store short on staff right now. The entire portions are pretty good not massive amounts but definitely not small. The Lasagna is house made it's rich though it has a lot of meat in it it's mixed with ricotta in several layers in a rich bolognese like meat sauce with little chunks of carrots I couldn't see any celery definitely onion it was not overly seasoned with herbs that will kill your tastebuds. The mozzarella was fine. It was rich and a bit to salty but I can see many people enjoying the Lasagna. The penne pasta with chicken and sausage in a mix up marinara and cream sauce. This dish was good. The sausage was good not overpowering or salty they may have simmered it first the chicken was ok not dry not super tender the sauce was also good. We did order it with out onion so it may have been made this way just for us but it was much better than the lasagna and it cost less I strongly recommend the penne there I ordered coke and Sprite they were good too from a fountain it was sweet and tasted good so they definitely filter the ice and they get their lines cleaned. Not every restaurant has a good well maintained soda fountain. I stopped going to Classic eats in Burien because their soda is terrible. They also have a good little bar there and an ok Wine list. It's a nice inviting rustic place a little bit dark cloth napkin wrapped silverware. Not a bad place it is out of the way from other restaurants in Federal Way. Not a bad place to go that is the right mix of casual and formal. If you are on a budget and you want to go somewhere nice for a date or celebration this place is perfect! read more

Stopped by for a quick dinner before my son's baseball game. We told Mikey, who was both bartender and server, we had a time limit and he responded 'no problem'. From that moment on he took great care of us making delicious drinks, promptly getting our food order in and regularly checking on us. Once the food arrived (which was delicious), he did an even better job keeping track of our time limit than we did. All in all a delicious experience and we look forward to going back! read more

Server was quick to take order. They are still remodeling it seems for the bar area. Their margarita here is basically a plain cheese pizza so don't expect there to be basil on it. I think it's a little over price and the pizza quality is ok. On their menu board doesn't have prices so you don't know how much each items is. You have to go on their website I believe to see. Spaghetti and the bolognese sauce is ok. Bread they gave us is kinda hard on the outside but the inside is soft. Salad is good and fresh. I hope next time they are done with their remodel and I would be able to eat there to give them better rating. read more

OMG why have we never tried this place? We ordered a Bistro 16" pizza, should've gone smaller for just the two of us but we ordered while hungry so...we went BIG. The crust is light, thin and flavorful. Just the right amount of red sauce and mozzarella, plenty of pepperoni and mushrooms in every bite. The ricotta cheese and fresh basil gave it a nice fresh taste. Simply delicious. We found our new favorite pizza place! Can't wait to try all the other pizzas, and pastas. Customer service was great, ordered by phone and it was ready for pick up when they said it would be ready. It's not overpriced, you're paying for quality here not quantity. This isn't your typical take and bake, mass produced, mediocre quality pizza place. read more

I like this piece of place. It's right down the road from my house literally walking distance. I've ordered from them a couple of times and every time their pizza has been great. I am a basic pizza, girl. I love my pepperoni, pepperoni, olive, Hawaiian pizza (yes pineapple belongs on pizza), and occasionally maybe a meat lovers pizza. And this pizza place has not disappointed. I highly recommend. Usually will call in order and then go and pick up which is very easy. read more

3 1/2 out of 5. Pizza on bowl day. Ate here a few years back and really enjoyed the Mirrabella. We ordered another, a Calzone, and a Ginos sans green peppers. The Calzone was the best of the three. The Mirrabella was heavily laced with garlic, so much so that it totally overpowered the pie. We love garlic, but this was extreme. The Genos pie was better balanced with plentiful ingredients, but still strong garlic overtones. These pies could easily been rated 4+ if not for the garlic overkill.
