What a great surprise. Only open a week and we were lucky enough to find it. They don't take reservations but we were seated immediately and had really terrific Service from Chris. The menu is limited but a nice variety from pizzas with many toppings, several pasta dishes, and a few entrees. I had the most delish beef ribs, perfectly cooked and great portion size. Finally got around to trying Sorella. Loved it! It's so refreshing to have a fabulous option for dining in the Newport area. They have an inviting menu; not too big. They have a great Happy Hour menu. The fried calamari was awesome! My hubby had the grilled asparagus with smoked prosciutto and a cooked egg, yummy! For dinner, it was the Fusilli Premavera and the Veal Parmesean. Finished with Tiramiso and chocolate torte with strawberry sauce. I highly recommend trying Sorella! I was in town visiting friends who took me here as they said it was new and amazing. Everything is handmade! The inside of the restaurant is decorated nicely and has a very welcoming feel. We were a party of three and grabbed a table along the wall. My friends had chocolate stouts to start and I stuck with water. My friend is lactose intolerant and cannot have any cheese at all. She ordered spaghetti and meatballs but had the meatballs changed to sausage and specifically said no cheese. I ordered the tagliatelle alle vongole and her husband ordered a meat pasta. We ordered the bruschetta to start and it was very good. While waiting for our food, I was able to observe our waitress with the other tables. I noticed she was making mistakes across the board and made a comment to my friends. Sure enough, our meals come out and my friends plate is loaded with cheese. We flag the waitress down who profusely apologies and said she told the cook no cheese and said she'll bring one back right away. My friend told us to start. Although my clam pasta was tasty, the noodles were a under done. The portion size didn't seem big enough. I'm actually surprised it didn't come with something like garlic bread. We're still waiting for the other dish...and waiting....and waiting... so two of us finish our meals and the waitress comes to clear our plates without asking us how was it and came back with the bill. The bill included the meal we never got. So her husband pointed it out. She suddenly became really confused and blamed it on the kitchen. Again. I felt it was pretty poor of her to blame the kitchen when I watched her several times rectify mistakes from her tables that night. After some discussion, her meal (which was never prepared a second time) was prepared to go and they took off the beers and her meal from the bill. I was not impressed by the service and not overly impressed with my meal. May go back the next time I'm in town to give it anothet try but nothing I would go out of my way for at this moment. read more

It was great price for Sunday menu choice of salad, pasta or pizza smaller portions and dessert $20. The pizza was a little salty especially with prosciutto but good. The pasta was salty and mentioned to waiter. He said they get that comment a lot but kitchen never listens. I would go back and if ordered again would ask to go light on salt. read more

We have ordered to-go ONLY and 4 times now. The Caesar salad (order dressing on the side) is excellent. Their beet salad (also order dressing on the side!) SO GOOD. They use really good high quality ingredients - shaved parm, pistachios, pears, etc and are not skimpy == REALLY GOOD SALADS. And the pizza -- we love it -- BEST crust ever. Thin and just the right amount of chewy at the crust end. We have tried a lot of their toppings and love them all. Ingredients are top notch. So happy to have high quality ingredient salads and delish thin crust pizza in Nye Beach! We really hope they offer pet friendly outdoor seating this year. We would be regulars! read more

What a wonderful meal. We started with Naploli nights, bourbon with limoncello, lemon and cloves. We thought we would split the polenta fritta, but unfortunately they had run out. However the pasta we had more than made up for that loss, it was was wonderful flavored and filling. We had cappalletti stuffed with ricotta in a corn bacon spinach sauce. Perfectly cooked and amazing flavor. We also had the mostaccioli with pesto and italian sausage which was superb. For desert we split the italian rainbow cake with a unbelievable strawberry olive oil gelato. I highly recommend this place. read more

We got to meet the owner and his son. We had a great conversation about the Cubs The we're very pleasant. We ordered pizzas to go and loved them. Coming from Chicago, it's hard to find good pizza. They came highly recommended by a local shop owner, so we trusted they knew what they were talking about. The environment is clean and relaxed. Went here because the place next door was closed. I was not impressed with the service it took a very long time for our food to come and there was no free bread to keep you snacking while you wait. Excellent customer service, pizza and beer night on Thursday night, which as luck would have it was tonight so $10 pizza and $3 beers!!! Overall the menu offered value for money, but the Thursday night special made this exceptional. Evening was popular if you need large numbers I'd highly recommend booking but they slotted in the 2 of us within 15 mins so propped up the bar for a drink whilst we waited for a table. My husband and I have been coming to Newport for many years. We are also people who appreciate a good dining experience. We eat out a lot and enjoy the experience. Tonight was unfortunately one of the worst ones we have had. We came to Sorella on a recommendation from another great restaurant here in town. Boasting on the good pasta.. food was pretty good but the service was horrible. After we were seated we were approached by a server asking us what we would like to drink, I had explained it was our first time and he said great. Do you you know what you want to eat? We ordered an appetizer as well as our dinner. They have a Sunday special with three courses. We added the app on top along with our $12 martinis. Our first course came out (no drinks yet) and no appetizer. A little while later our drinks came out. While I was eating the first course (salad still in my mouth) the server asked if I was finished.. I still had a half a salad?! Still no appetizer. Then came the main course. My husband told the server at this point to cancel the appetizer.. he admitted he forgot. He came with the main, dropped them off and left. My drink was now empty. Never offered another. My husband went to the bar to get us two glasses of wine $22 for the two glasses.. he was ignored. The bartender looked at him and didn't acknowledge him. Finally we flagged down the server to get our wine and the check. At this point we didn't care about the dessert that came with the meal. We told the server we were really disappointed in his service and he sent the manager. The manager was the bartender who dismissed my husband for the wine. They gave us a discount which we really didn't care and left. We left the dessert in fear that who knows what happened to it in back. Do disappointing. We enjoy going out to eat and have been in the business. I would get better service from McDonald's with lower expectations. Solid restaurant, could use some improvements. Went here with a party of 8. 7 people ordered pizza- two of them had burnt crusts, and overall the crust was too thick. Asparagus appetizer was flawless and the agnolotti were very flavorful (seemed like homemade pasta but could have been rolled a little thinner). We had reserved but the table wasn't ready when we arrived, and Pizza took a long time to be served. We also ordered dessert and they started turning off the lights before we had even finished (and it wasn't even 9:30pm! We complained and they turned the lights back up). For dessert, the cherry pie was not good and the tiramisu was too dry. Flourless chocolate cake very tasty and ice creams were great. I am married to an Italian and visit Italy 1-2x per year. I would definitely go back to Sorella but hope they make a few improvements or I wouldn't keep going. read more

A nice, relaxing atmosphere in a smallish-sized cafe-style restaurant. The food was above average, and they had a decent wine selection. Probably a bit too loud and the seating too close for a good date night, but if you get there on a quiet evening during the off season, it would be perfect. read more

Excellent Italian food. Not sure what is going on with the marinara, but I am pretty sure they put crack in it, because two weeks' time has passed and I still dream about it. We LOVED this restaurant! Amazing goat cheese and pea puree ravioli dish and their gelato is TO DIE FOR! Whoever the pastry chef is there, is amazing! My husband and I came in on a Monday night. We had Caesar salads that were large enough to split but we had them for a meal. Very good but we didn't really care for the cheese crisps on top. Tasted like cheddar and parm mixed together and was rather sweet tasting. We also had roasted brussel sprouts that were delicious. I was so disappointed. I really wanted to like this place. The ambience was fun, the bread was good, BUT, the lasagna I had and the spaghetti my wife had were very disappointing. IT WAS THE SAUCE. To my taste, it was very disappointing and my wife agreed. I wanted to salvage something, so I thought we might go for pizza. Small town pizzeria. We had a great experience dining here on our way to Yachats. The Pizzas were outstanding. Crust was thin and crispy. We were looking for a nice Italian dinner. Sorella looked good on Yelp and other apps. We arrive early in the Nye Beach area which has a large Beer Pun, cafes and shops including Sorella. The restaurant is a large open area. A cross between pizza parlor and restaurant with full bar. We had Italian entrees; Tagliatelle all's Vongole for me and Crab and Asparagus Risotto for Marilyn. Marilyn liked her risotto, lots of crab and pencil size asparagus. My entree was not up to my expectation. We both had a nice Chianti. My sense is that Sorella would be a great family place for really good pizza. For a very Italian dinner in a more traditional dinner setting, not so good.
