The Kefta melt was the family favorite! Flavorful, filling, and rich! The ingredients were fresh and carefully prepared and served. The salad has a salty and sour vinaigrette with a nice crunchy texture. The fries were heavily seasoned, delightfully battered and fried to perfection. The dining area was spacious and accommodating to large groups. The swivel stools, metal tables and seating were clean, simple, & modern. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We returned with a large group within the same weekend and the staff handled it graciously. If you happen to go in a large group it would be helpful to call ahead to let them know so they can prep things ahead of time.

Zaatar sandwich with halloumi and side salad

Stopped by on a weekday for lunch with a work group. The menu has a good variety to please most people. Since this location was previously a pizza spot, the pizza oven is used to make fresh lavash used in all of the sandwiches as well as cook the appetizer bites. I will note there are a limited number of vegan/vegetarian menu items. When ordering the zaatar wrap, I upgraded and added halloumi to make the sandwich more filling. The staff accommodated the lack of a meal option with the zaatar sandwich by adding a side salad. The dressing on the salad was bright with sumac and a perfect addition to any sandwich. Since there were two back to back larger groups, our orders took a little bit longer than anticipated. The staff apologized multiple times and treated us to dessert to make up for it. None of us were planning to order any dessert but I would certainly recommend a little Nutella treat as long as you aren't allergic.

Sunwish is a newly opened Lebanese restaurant and I'm so happy it's open. It's a casual dine in restaurant where you place your order at the register or self-serve kiosk, have a seat, and your order gets brought out to you on lovely silver trays. Drinks are self serve and dining ware is disposable. All the food is made fresh, in house, and prepared to order. The bread is DELICIOUS! We watched the staff stretch the fresh dough and prepare everything right in front of us. The oven it was cooked in is so unique. The food comes up really quick too. For starters, we tried the Golden Halloumi which are tasty fried halloumi sticks with a fresh thousand island dipping sauce. We also had the BITE mix which was so flavorful! I really like the Zaatar, but all 3 flavors were good - including the olives and I normally don't like olives. They're little flat, round bread bites similar to a flatbread. We ordered several different sandwiches and they were all different in flavor, yet so delicious. Hubs ordered the Kefta OG which came with a small salad and fries. The Kefta was juicy and had just the perfect amount of seasoning. The in-house made bread was thin and yet sturdy to hold in all the ingredients making it a perfect sandwich. I love cheese so I ordered the bacon halloumi which did not disappoint. The bacon was so well flavored and complimented the halloumi cheese. I also tried the Kefta Melt which was the perfect combination between my sandwich and my husband's sandwich. It was meaty, cheesy, and fresh tasting with the tomatoes and pickle. The fries were crispy and hot, the Zaatar seasoning added a level of flavor which kept me going back for more. The salad that accompanied our sandwiches was fresh and just the right portion to round out everything. We had to finish with dessert and ordered Nutella banana with crushed hazelnuts. It was light and just the right amount of everything. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The owner encouraged us to ask questions and she gave us time to look over the menu. The inside was bright, clean, and comfortable. There are plenty of tables for seating and this is perfect for families who want to eat in a casual, comfortable, and welcoming setting. The portions are very generous.

The place used to be...or was last I guess a pizza place. So they have this big pizza oven that they use to make really excellent flat breads for the sandwiches. It kinda different, it's been open for a little bit but we just made it over there and did take out to our work which is just across the street. I am a sucker for coleslaw on sandwiches so the Street Burger Sandwich was an obvious first try. Beef patty, mozzarella, tomato, pickles, coleslaw, fries, fresh onions, smoky sauce. It came with za'atar fries and a small salad. The salad was excellent, crunchy, sweet, sour, lots of great textures and spices and a good amount of acidity. The fries again very good, great spice, crunchy and different. The sandwich is big, they cut it in half and one half would have been plenty. The bread is super good, like a thin pita, it was a messy sandwich but the bread held it all together. I am a big fan of that flat bread. It seems like one side of my sandwich had the cole slaw (very good cole slaw too!) and the other had the fries. Not sure if that was intentional, but it worked. The Street Burger Sandwich was really good, no complaints, the burger paddy was...fine, a bit lost in everything else. We all really enjoyed it and being so close it will not be our last time there.

I attended Sunwish's soft opening March 26, when the owner offered free food. My family really enjoyed it! Sunwish offers Mediterranean sandwiches that are more like wraps. They're cooked in a pizza oven (this location was previously home to Fire Crust Pizza). The Francisco Heat chicken sandwich was my favorite. The meat was tender and the fillings were tasty. We also tried the Red Paprika sandwich, which was not at all spicy. Sandwiches are served with a side of perfectly seasoned fries and a small salad. Sunwish is located at the corner of Lake-Cook and Lexington Drive, right next to Starbucks. When you enter, you order and pay at the counter, and food is brought to your table. Fountain drinks and desserts are also available. The food was great and I'll definitely be back. But the best part of my first experience was chatting with the owner, who is super friendly, customer-focused and seems like an all-around nice guy First impressions are important, and mine said Sunwish will be a great success!

We selected the table right by the lounge that had a large TV, homey décor, couch and cocktail table. It was also right by the big window overlooking the small and charming front patio. Our server, Chis, was very friendly, pleasant, and attentive. I ordered a Lemonade ($3), my husband and daughter each enjoyed a glass of Mer Soliel Reserve Chardonnay (2 for $26). We shared a Grilled Octopus ($22) which was cooked to perfection. The warm, lightly charred pita points paired well with the creamy and tasty beet hummus. I had a Slow Roasted Lamb Shank ($39) which was tender and full of flavors. It was a very generous portion that I shared a big piece with my husband; and still had leftovers to take home. It made a delicious lamb sandwich for my next lunch. My husband liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) so much last time that he ordered it again.
