Never heard of Korean malatang. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. I got their pork guobaorou, mala Xiang guo, peach iced tea, and grape ade to try. The pork guobaorou was perfectly crispity crunchy with a sweet sticky sauce. Unlike normal malatang They make your bowl for you so it's kinda a surprise what you get but I added pork and spam to mine and made it level 1 spicy. It was fun discovering all the things in it. There were a bunch of stuff from chewy glass noodles, veggies, fish cake, sausage ecetra. I thought it had the perfect amount of addicting numbing spice but it was too spicy for my grandma. It was also pretty oily. The pickled yellow radish they gave with it added an extra crunch and sweetness that helped cut through some of the oiliness. The peach iced tea had strong tea flaves with light peachy notes. The grape ade tasted like the grape gummies plus lemonade. Both paired really well with the meal and helped cool it down a bit. Overall this place is lowkey pretty good. Guobaorou $5.47 Malaxiang guo $17.31 (+$2.73+2.73 for spam and pork) Peach tea $4.56 Grapeade $4.56

We waited about 1 hr for a party of 6 to be seated, but I saw the waitlist before us, there were a lot of big groups before us. There's valet parking a little further down the street for $2. The waiting area is quite big too so it's not cramped at all. The buffet selection was pretty good, a lot of good variety. All of the servers that attended to us were great, my group was a little disorganized with ordering soup base and meat, as it was half of our group's first time having hotpot in general. I apologize for our chaos and thank them for being so patient with us lol. Will definitely be returning again.

The place area for this place was very dirty with lots of trash & hobo so I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone with small children or come here alone. The neighborhood is really sketchy and stinky with lots of flys. The front entrance was also hard to find and no signs of where the entrance was since good map didn't take us to the correct door. We also spent some time looking for parking but they also have a lot for $2 parking for customers so we just paid. Wished they mentioned that when I called so we didn't have to waste time looking for street parking. Food was ok, there weren't many options to choose from other than a few repeated items. The sauce bar was pretty confusing since their name didn't match where they put the sauce. The portion of the meat side were too little and can only order 4 at a time. We finished our meat just couple mins after it was on the table. It wasn't too busy when we went so that was good. Nothing special or good food that I would come back again. The price we paid for definitely wasn't worth it tho.

You start by picking up a bowl and tongs and make your way down the line of food. The bowl will be weighed at the end and that is how you will be charged. So be mindful how much food you put in your bowl. There are so many options that you might be tempted to put in everything. Seafood, meat, vegetables, noodles and so much more are waiting to be dropped into your bowl. And there are some great broth options. We went with the mushroom soup since we don't really do spicy very well. The mushroom soup was so rich and delicious. There is also a sauce bar to make your own sauce to dip everything in your bowl in. We also got some squid skewers. They were tender and so flavorful. And for dessert we got the brown sugar rice cakes and pumpkin cakes. Both were so good and not overly sweet. A great place to get a filling meal. Come by and give them a try.

This spot features build your own Malatang bowls, where you can pick from a wide selection of proteins (albeit a bit less options compared to the USC location), veggies, noodles, and broth options. This late night spot is also open until 2 am - making it perfect for students wanting a late night meal! We ended up getting the beef bone and tomato broths, with each bowl coming out to about $20 after selecting our toppings. Our noodle soups were cooked really quickly, and overall, I was impressed with the freshness of their ingredients and authentic flavors of their broths. I can definitely see this becoming one of my favorite go-to Chinese spots in West LA, and I highly recommend checking them out for authentic malatang!

Went to eat here with the Hubs on New Year's Eve around 5:45 PM on a rainy night. Luckily there was…read moreno line when we arrived, but this place can definitely get busy, so I'd still expect a wait during peak times. Ordering is done by scanning a QR code, which was easy, and everything came out pretty quickly after we placed our order. They also have a sauce bar (extra cost) along with some sesame balls and rice crackers, which was a nice touch. Service was okay overall -- we did have to call our server a couple of times when we needed things. The inside of the restaurant is very pretty and clean for the most part, which made the experience enjoyable. Price-wise, it's on the average to slightly higher side for shabu, but overall a decent spot for hotpot, especially for special occasions or colder/rainy nights.

This was my second time here and overall it's a great experience- fun sauce bar, quick service, elaborate decor - what's not to like? As far as the eating experience goes, I'd give it a solid 4... that is until I went to the ladies room...or tried to. This was my first time going to the restroom and I was appalled by the mustiness of the air and the dirtiness that I saw. I'm familiar with restrooms at basic restaurants and I don't expect aromatherapy candles or scented hand soap but as a consumer I do expect a certain level of cleanliness especially at an eating establishment. I tried to just suck it up and bear it but had to leave as soon as a saw a thin black ring around the toilet bowls...(mold?!?!) Sorry if it's too much info but just had to share- go for the food and the picture worthy decor but skip the bathrooms till they have a thorough clean!
