This was my first time trying Sorrento Italian Kitchen and it will be my last! I was not at all impressed with the food. I ordered from their lunch menu. I figured spaghetti at an Italian place would be a safe bet. Nope. The sauce was watery and runny, had huge chunks of tomatoes, and huge chunks of onions. There was more sauce than noodles. The salad looked gross and had brown pieces of lettuce. It looked like something gross from a hospital cafeteria. I will not be returning here.

I finally found our pizza restaurant on Orange and Carson in LB. Little farther from home but definitely worthy to get there for the perfect fluffy pizza. First, the parking is really easy in the strip mall. Second, dining area is huge. Separated the regular dining and large party of group dining area such as birthday, graduation parties. Lots of TV screens are everywhere. We got 2 pizza flavors half and half which were BBQ chicken and Pilo's deluxe for the Large size $24.14. The server was friendly, attentive. I saw the pizzas for other customers while we were waiting for our pizza. Looked so great, so cheezy, lots of toppings.... Finally, we got ours, big big surprise! As soon as I got the first slice from the pan, I saw so much toppings w tons of cheeses stretching a lot....OMG! Hard to find a pizza w tons of toppings, cheeses at the italian pizza pasta restaurants in LB. I was soooo happy. My hubby told me, this is exactly what I look for all the time after we had used to go to the italian restaurant in Seal Beach for a while. Hopefully, they maintain the high quality and price. I can pay more than $35 for the large pizza like this quality. Unbelievable quality, tastes awesome. The pizza crust is so fluffy like italian chewy bread, the red sauce was well balanced, lots of toppings like pepperonis, black olives, red onions, mushrooms, and etc. We planned to have a pool party in the Summer for our anniversary. We both said, call to order pizzas, pastas, and we go there to pick them up. Soooo excited to order more new flavors, Texana w ham, chorizo, and fried beans, Verde w basil sauce, spinach, roma tomatoes, ricotta cheese, zucchinis. They have a variety of flavors over 18. Too many pizzas... Amazingly tasted great, perfect balance, endless toppings, and cheese. Ambiance: sports game vibe w lots of TV screens, casual Quality, price: 5 stars Parking: plenty of parking spots in the big strip mall. I can't wait to taste other flavors of pizzas, calzone, some pastas, appetizers, and desserts. Great Italian restaurant on Orange n Carson for family, friend gathering, anniversary, and birthday party.

We tried to find a real pizza restaurant near our home but was not easy to find it. My wife checked for a while to find the pizza restaurant in LB. Finally we decided to go to Sorrento on Orange and Carson. Not many customers eating after 2 this afternoon but lots of pick up orders in a row. We first wanted test order for the pizza. Chose the 14 inch Large half half, BBQ CHICKEN, Pilo's Deluxe. The pizza crust was super crunchy, fluffy like Italian bread. The red sauce was perfect. Especially toppings and cheeses, amazingly endless....way way a lot. My wife got shocked about the toppings w large size $24.14. We both were sooooo happy. I got IPA, not many variety of tap beers but was really good. Overall, great place for pizza, pasta party. The dining area is huge w so many TV screens. You can stay watching the football, golf tournament, basketball, and baseball games. Great place for italian foods, I am wondering if the canzone is good too.... I am a pizza lover like my wife. We finally found the real Italian pizza place. We will be definitely back for other pizzas, calzones, and pastas.... Great quality, price for everyone. Hope they maintain the quality of pizzas.

I had this place bookmarked in Yelp but couldn't remember why or even when I did it. We were in the area so we finally had the opportunity to try it and I'm so glad! Food was delicious! The place has a bit of hole-in-the-wall vibes from the outside, but inside is clean, open and spacious. Service was prompt and our server was sweet, all smiles. I'm looking forward to eating my leftovers.

I live in the area and didn't know about this hidden pizza joint until a couple years ago. I sometimes do Uber as a side gig and I pick up from there. It smells so good! But today (1/15/26), I tried it! I got the Pilo's deluxe and it was so fresh and so good! The cheese pull, the crisp fresh veggies and the meat (sausage and pepperoni) was decadent! Not super greasy for being pizza! I also got the dinner salad which was also good and fresh! No brown lettuce lol, it's a thing at some places but not here! The place always has people in it giving it a good family vibe and their service with food pick ups and orders are top!

This place isn't anything fancy. Just great pizza and pasta! They share their parking lot with other places. But you can still get up close spots. The parking lot does look a little run down. And then you have this pizza gem! Every time we walk In we get greeted immediately. We always choose to dine in, but this place is very popular for take out It doesn't look like it would be a huge place. But They have a large selection of seating. And on Monday's they have a pizza special (9.99 for a large) and other days they have lunch specials. I always come for their Monday one. (I would Call ahead and ask what specials they offer that day) It's 9.99 on Monday for a large cheese pizza and then a fee for extra toppings (I usually get black olive or pepperoni) I first came here because I saw them go viral for their HUGE XXL pizza They also have a bunch of salads and pastas on the menu. And, if you're like me, and enjoy sides / appetizers with your pizza, this is the place. My favorite pasta from here, even comes with garlic bread Our drinks are always refilled Tables are always clean The sauce for the pasta tastes extremely fresh and homemade. Prices are extremely reasonable And this place has a bunch of TVs. So it's a great place to come with friends and watch the game We usually have a waiter taking care of us but I always forget to ask his name. This last time we had - Angelina. She was answering the phone, taking to go orders, cleaning tables and taking care of us. 5 stars for Angelina Online it says they offer vegan options Beer and wine only And it says it's women owned!

Sausage pepperoni pizza with Mozzarella Sticks - 7 Pieces
    Liz A.

I found this spot because of their viral pizza challenge and realized it's only a few minutes from my house. It's tucked away in the plaza, so I'd never noticed it before. I ordered a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza and mozzarella sticks. It was still a little warm when I got home, but I reheated it to give it a fair shot. It improved, but it didn't quite hit like I expected. The mozzarella sticks were decent too -- I was just hoping for more of that dramatic cheese pull moment, I personally wasn't a fan of the marinara sauce Overall, not bad -- just didn't live up to the hype for me. Check them out for yourself, the service was great. I appreciate the time they took to give recommendations.

Amazing how time flies.... I'm counting at least 10 years ago when we first me Ray at Sorrento Italian Kitchen. The lovely missus and I were in North Long Beach and the missus said we need to stop by Sorrento for lunch. We were happy to learn that Ray is in and he came to our table. It's been awhile since the last time we had this real encounter, and we felt really honored being able to chit chat and upate. The missus ordered the special cheese pizza with pineapple and ham. The pizza was cheesy and had a beautiful crust. I was informed by the young server that Sorrento has a great lunch special... a big half portion of the Lasagna with a side of garden salad and a drink... that is a really good lunch value for me because the Lasagna is my most favorite dish. I also did a to go order for what is called a pizza sub.... molten cheese on top of garlic bread and then topped with abundant slices of pepperoni....stick that in the oven and arriverderci, it is like having an individual pizza that I'm enjoying as I write this. The missus had more of the great crust of pizza for dinner. Our experience at Sorrento today was a real happy one, and I know we will be back.

This is definitely a good alternative to my usual spot! Pizza was good and cheesy! They split the pizza with pepperoni and sausage with the other half with a special veggie type. I also got the wings and cheese sticks. Everything was good. Service was fast and service was great! Also, the restaurant has so many tables and There's a lot of parking here.

I've had this place in my radar for a while now. I read about a $7.99 large pizza Monday night special on a Facebook page I'm on. I decided to pick one up tonight. Unfortunately the price went up $2 but it was still a good deal. It was hot and fresh when I got I home. It smelled so good! They did not skimp on the cheese. It was SO good. My son really enjoyed it too. They also have several weekday lunch specials for only $8.99. I love finding great food deals! :)

Chicken Parmigiana, Fettuccine Pasta with Marinara Sauce - Pasta, Dinner Salad

My second visit here, and once again the food absolutely delivered. After a long week of work, I decided to take myself out on a solo dinner as a little reward. I came in around 8:30 p.m., knowing they close at 10, and asked if I could sit in a quiet table in the back. The hostess immediately recognized me from my last visit (she even remembered my infamous extra-garlic pizza ), which honestly made me feel welcomed. It's those little things that leave a lasting impression. This time I ordered the chicken Parmesan with fettuccine, along with the dinner salad and garlic bread. Everything was outstanding. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the marinara sauce was rich and flavorful, the mozzarella was delicious, and the pasta was cooked just the way I like it. The salad was fresh, the garlic bread was great, and the portions are incredibly generous. Honestly, one entrée could easily feed two people, so I happily took leftovers home. My server appeared to be fairly new or possibly still in training. She was polite, kind, and genuinely wanted to do a good job. Near the end of my meal, around 9:30, she asked if I would mind moving to another table so they could begin cleaning the back section before closing. I'll admit, I was a little caught off guard and even asked if I was being rushed. She immediately reassured me that wasn't her intention and apologized, explaining they were just trying to get a head start on closing duties. While I would have preferred to finish my meal where I was seated without feeling like I needed to hurry, I also understand everyone has long days, especially in the restaurant industry. I chose to finish up, packed my leftovers, and there were no hard feelings. What really stood out was how she finished the experience. She checked to make sure I enjoyed everything, asked how the meal was, recommended another entrée for my next visit, and even suggested the tiramisu--which was an easy 10/10. I'm glad I listened. Overall, the food was phenomenal, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff genuinely cares about their guests. My only suggestion would be to avoid asking guests to move tables while they're still enjoying their meal, even if closing time is approaching. It can unintentionally make someone feel rushed. That said, this place is a hidden gem on the north side. Great portions, excellent Italian food, friendly people, and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back. I'll definitely be back--just a little earlier next time so everyone can enjoy the evening without feeling pressed for time. Compliments to the chef and the entire kitchen. Highly recommended.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE THIS TIME AROUND!!! Brown salad, reheated chicken tenders and fries that were not edible at all. We ordered our pizza with no olive or mushrooms due to allergies and they didn't follow crucial instructions! Ray is a terrible manager! He said he was going to remake our order and didn't stand by his word. We now have no pizza that we paid for cause he sent his cook to pick up the food they tried to serve us. NEVER AGAIN!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TERRIBLE SATISFACTION!! BEWARE!

    Raw dough
    Alex S.

So these are literally the first 2 slices of pizza removed from the box. It's REALLY hard to f*ck up a pepperoni pizza, but this raw dough is a joke. Impossible to cut, lift or much less handle to eat. This is also after selecting "extra cooked" in their own pre set options. Unfortunately for me I paid a delivery fee and tipped the driver to bring it to me and the only way to get a refund is to "bring the pizza back" myself. This is now a 1 star review because this is an issue I brought to their attention before ordering tonight and it's probably the most inedible paid for pizza I've ever gotten.

Each table has a chili oil that I strongly recommend you add, especially to the uni pasta as I found it heavily under-seasoned. All the noodles were al dente, and the dishes were served with bread and a small house salad. Our waiter did the best he could, but for some reason, the weekday we chose was a pretty busy day with a crowd outside the door. My biggest qualm with my experience was the portion size and the seasoning. Our party was still a bit hungry (or, at least I was) after the meal, and we found each dish to be a bit flat,, though the chili oil helped with that. Looking forward to my next visit, and will definitely order something different.

The dining room is beautiful and polished, with a warm, modern atmosphere that feels appropriate for a date night or a nicer dinner, but still relaxed enough to come in after shopping. More importantly, the food has been consistently very good. We ordered several dishes to share, including the Yellowtail Crudo, Heirloom Tomato & Burrata, Wild Shrimp Scampi, Italian Meatballs, Strozzapreti, and Eggplant Parmesan. One of my favorites was the Yellowtail Crudo. The fish tasted fresh and clean, while the citrus, capers, avocado, pistachios, and herbs added brightness and texture without overpowering the yellowtail. The burrata was another standout. It was creamy and generous, paired nicely with ripe tomatoes, arugula, and grilled bread. Simple ingredients, but very well balanced. The Wild Shrimp Scampi was rich without being too heavy. The shrimp were paired with garlic, herbs, tomatoes, and plenty of grilled bread to soak up the sauce, which was probably one of the best parts of the dish. I also really enjoyed the Strozzapreti. The parmesan cream sauce was rich and comforting, but the mushrooms, spinach, truffle, and toasted pine nuts gave it enough earthy flavor and texture to keep it interesting. Even the more traditional comfort-food dishes were done well. The meatballs with creamy polenta were hearty and satisfying, and the Eggplant Parmesan had a nicely browned cheesy top with a flavorful tomato-based sauce. What I like most about North Italia is the balance between atmosphere, food quality, and price. It looks and feels like a high-end Italian restaurant, but the pricing is still fairly reasonable for the overall experience. After two visits, I can comfortably say this has become one of the Italian restaurants in the area that I would gladly return to. Great atmosphere, beautifully presented food, and most importantly, the cooking actually lives up to the setting.

We had a great time to find some new hand care products @Lather and went to discover an authentic italian restaurant which lots of Yelpers mentioned. My wife said, we have to order at the front, then they bring the foods to the table but the owner took our orders, and brought the foods so fast just like other Italian restaurant. We love meat lasagna, pasta w bolonese sauce, and some flat breads like appetizer pizza. We ordered 3, lasagna, tagliatelle bolonese, flat bread sandwich called Cassone w sausage, bell pepper, onions. I had some italian red wine per glass ($14). First, I loved so much my lasagna and kept eating until finish my entire portion. I give 10 stars. My wife's pasta, she said pasta is too thick, might be on purpose? She likes soft, thin texture handmade tagliatelle. For the first time, we ordered flat bread sandwich. The sandwich flavor was good, but not the dough for flat bread. Well, we tried here for the 1st time after shopping. Today was almost 81 this afternoon. Hot and humid.....unluckily AC was broken so he opened the entrance door. One big fly bothered a lot annoying us eating the foods. And so hot inside restaurant. Overall, I liked my lasagna a lot, not really tagliatelle bolonese, nor the flat bread sandwich. If AC was working during lunch time. We felt much comfortable to enjoy our foods. One thing, I loved the red wine but the portion was not enough for $14. Even my wife said, not much for this price. I got 2 glasses of italian red wine, not enough. The view was great ocean side from the patio. This is a strong point eating here for the view. My wife saw the live pasta cooking show, a chef made the pasta, stretching the pasta dough in the kitchen....great show! Fun! Hopefully AC runs well especially hot summer season, the portions of pastas and wines might be more generous for the future.

It's warm, flaky, savory and the tomato chili fenell butter complemented very well. For entrees we ordered the grilled branzino, short rib Agnotolli and the truffle pesto lasagna. The Branzino was perfect and the chili crunch herb salad was amazing. The short rib agnotolli was very savory and I loved the robiola bosina. The lasagna was very good and cheesy.
