Pilo's Deluxe Pizza - Medium 12'' with jalapeños
    Ana L.

I live in the area and didn't know about this hidden pizza joint until a couple years ago. I sometimes do Uber as a side gig and I pick up from there. It smells so good! But today (1/15/26), I tried it! I got the Pilo's deluxe and it was so fresh and so good! The cheese pull, the crisp fresh veggies and the meat (sausage and pepperoni) was decadent! Not super greasy for being pizza! I also got the dinner salad which was also good and fresh! No brown lettuce lol, it's a thing at some places but not here! The place always has people in it giving it a good family vibe and their service with food pick ups and orders are top!

Sausage pepperoni pizza with Mozzarella Sticks - 7 Pieces
    Liz A.

I found this spot because of their viral pizza challenge and realized it's only a few minutes from my house. It's tucked away in the plaza, so I'd never noticed it before. I ordered a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza and mozzarella sticks. It was still a little warm when I got home, but I reheated it to give it a fair shot. It improved, but it didn't quite hit like I expected. The mozzarella sticks were decent too -- I was just hoping for more of that dramatic cheese pull moment, I personally wasn't a fan of the marinara sauce Overall, not bad -- just didn't live up to the hype for me. Check them out for yourself, the service was great. I appreciate the time they took to give recommendations.

I had this place bookmarked in Yelp but couldn't remember why or even when I did it. We were in the area so we finally had the opportunity to try it and I'm so glad! Food was delicious! The place has a bit of hole-in-the-wall vibes from the outside, but inside is clean, open and spacious. Service was prompt and our server was sweet, all smiles. I'm looking forward to eating my leftovers.

This place isn't anything fancy. Just great pizza and pasta! They share their parking lot with other places. But you can still get up close spots. The parking lot does look a little run down. And then you have this pizza gem! Every time we walk In we get greeted immediately. We always choose to dine in, but this place is very popular for take out It doesn't look like it would be a huge place. But They have a large selection of seating. And on Monday's they have a pizza special (9.99 for a large) and other days they have lunch specials. I always come for their Monday one. (I would Call ahead and ask what specials they offer that day) It's 9.99 on Monday for a large cheese pizza and then a fee for extra toppings (I usually get black olive or pepperoni) I first came here because I saw them go viral for their HUGE XXL pizza They also have a bunch of salads and pastas on the menu. And, if you're like me, and enjoy sides / appetizers with your pizza, this is the place. My favorite pasta from here, even comes with garlic bread Our drinks are always refilled Tables are always clean The sauce for the pasta tastes extremely fresh and homemade. Prices are extremely reasonable And this place has a bunch of TVs. So it's a great place to come with friends and watch the game We usually have a waiter taking care of us but I always forget to ask his name. This last time we had - Angelina. She was answering the phone, taking to go orders, cleaning tables and taking care of us. 5 stars for Angelina Online it says they offer vegan options Beer and wine only And it says it's women owned!

This is definitely a good alternative to my usual spot! Pizza was good and cheesy! They split the pizza with pepperoni and sausage with the other half with a special veggie type. I also got the wings and cheese sticks. Everything was good. Service was fast and service was great! Also, the restaurant has so many tables and There's a lot of parking here.

I've had this place in my radar for a while now. I read about a $7.99 large pizza Monday night special on a Facebook page I'm on. I decided to pick one up tonight. Unfortunately the price went up $2 but it was still a good deal. It was hot and fresh when I got I home. It smelled so good! They did not skimp on the cheese. It was SO good. My son really enjoyed it too. They also have several weekday lunch specials for only $8.99. I love finding great food deals! :)

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE THIS TIME AROUND!!! Brown salad, reheated chicken tenders and fries that were not edible at all. We ordered our pizza with no olive or mushrooms due to allergies and they didn't follow crucial instructions! Ray is a terrible manager! He said he was going to remake our order and didn't stand by his word. We now have no pizza that we paid for cause he sent his cook to pick up the food they tried to serve us. NEVER AGAIN!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TERRIBLE SATISFACTION!! BEWARE!

    Raw dough
    Alex S.

So these are literally the first 2 slices of pizza removed from the box. It's REALLY hard to f*ck up a pepperoni pizza, but this raw dough is a joke. Impossible to cut, lift or much less handle to eat. This is also after selecting "extra cooked" in their own pre set options. Unfortunately for me I paid a delivery fee and tipped the driver to bring it to me and the only way to get a refund is to "bring the pizza back" myself. This is now a 1 star review because this is an issue I brought to their attention before ordering tonight and it's probably the most inedible paid for pizza I've ever gotten.

Burnt mozzarella sticks from Sorrento's Kitchen on Orange st in Long Beach ca.

Ordered mozzarella sticks and they came burnt with no cheese inside. They were tasteless and well overcooked.

I would rate our experience a 3.5 and I'm still totally willing to check this place out again with the hope to give this place a higher rating. It started off promising. This place was busy on a Friday night, filled with large groups and families. We took this as a good sign. Staff greeted us immediately, cleaned a table for us, and brought us to our seats. It took a while for our waitress to come around, so by the time she came for our drink order, we had our food order ready for her. Then 40 minutes later, we received an update that our pizzas were in the oven and would be out shortly. Roughly 10 minutes after that, we received our order along with an apology for the wait and an explanation that they were busy with a lot of orders. I took their explanation at face value because I could see how busy the dining area was, and staff was hustling to bring food to the other tables. So I don't at all think they forgot about us or anything. I do give this place credit for having legit vegan options on their menu. I had the All Meat Vegan Pizza which comes with a generous amount of vegan chicken, vegan meatball, vegan chorizo & vegan cheese. Flavor-wise, the chicken was pretty tasteless but at least the meatball and chorizo were yummy. I liked the texture of the crust which was doughy and a perfect amount of toastiness. I think next time I might add onions to this pizza to give it an extra layer of flavor and texture. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sorrento-italian-kitchen-long-beach?select=uCtbycotfQgOj13uF1BY0g Hubby LOVED his pizza. He had the No Name. I'll let him write about it in his review. When the check came around, Hubby noticed something but shared it with me after the gal took his credit card. He saw that they charged us a higher price than what was on the menu but he decided not to inquire about it. I offered to talk to the staff but Hubby said he was willing to let this one go. So my review rating does not reflect this incident since we chose not to speak up about it. But I wanted to document this for my personal record. All in all, this was and up and down experience for us where the highs balance out the lows. Maybe our next visit will be better. Maybe we'll order takeout with the expectation that it will take nearly an hour to get our food.

    Sorrento pastrami sandwich
    Chad M.

I have to say was disappointed in the pastrami sandwich it had more bread the pastrami with only 4 small pieces of meat and it tasted old by and the price is $14.00 to expensive for what it is you can go to the Hat or johnny's pastrami for that and get better The pizza is the best I will got it a 4 star rating

    Their house piazza.

The mentai pasta was packed with umami and the pasta itself was cooked perfectly al dente. The nori and mushrooms paired really well with the sauce as well. The uni pasta was just as good. The sauce was rich and creamy and the uni on top was fresh and buttery. The meal also comes with complimentary bread and salad. The salad was light and refreshing which helped balance out the richness of the pasta. The bread was simple but great for dipping in olive oil and vinegar. That was very much appreciated. This is a fun casual spot in 2nd and PCH shopping center, so you get 90 minutes of parking free here. You order at the counter, and they bring you the food pretty quickly after. You can eat inside or outside, both are lovely options. You basically pick your pasta type and sauce, so it's kind of a create-your-own-dish. They also have weekly specials and a few other specialty dishes on the menu. I will say, the lasagna looks to be the dish to get. The person next to me ordered it and the dish was massive. Looked delicious! I got the pappardelle bolognese. Pappardelle is my favorite type of noodle, and they make a great pappardelle here! Perfectly toothy. The noodles themselves were 9/10. The bolognese didn't have the deepest flavor I've ever tried, but it was solid. I loved the beautiful plate that my pasta was served in. I would definitely come back here. Trying several items on the menu provided us a nice sampling of what they have to offer. We enjoyed everything we ordered. My favorite was probably the Brussel sprouts as they were cooked to perfection and not sweet like most restaurants serve them. A close 2nd was the chicken parmesan served over zucchini noodles. The final item ordered was a mushroom pasta with shrimp. The shrimp were fantastic with a light char and perfect flavoring. The pasta was good. It was a bit to spicy for me with the chili oil so I only had a small portion. The inside is simple yet inviting with an open layout. They seemed a bit short staffed, but every one was hustling and honestly we were well taken care of. It did look quite busy on the patio when we checked in with the hostess. We were informed that it would prob be about 20 minutes or so for a table and if we wanted to wait at the bar. Exactly what we did. Bar area had maybe 5/6 hi top chairs that look onto the bar. Gabriel and Francisco who were working was knocking the drinks out one by one. Sitting there and just watching them create magic for everyone, it was quite amusing. Seeing how it's made and presented with precise detail, it was an art. While waiting for the table we started off with the raspberry lychee martini and the spicy margaritas. Both were great. The right amount of kick with each sip. Gabriel was knocking them out one by one and man was he busy. Fransisco took are of us while we were eating which we ended up just having our dinner at the bar instead. The last time I remembered the chicken Parmesan which was excellent. So we started off with the grilled prawns as a starters. Five prawns in a skewers and grilled with a delicious sauce accompanied. It was tasty and quite delicious. Decent size and meaty for each bite. Entrees was a little mishap as our meal was mistakenly given to the party next to us which they enjoyed. Honesty mistake but we laughed it off. Kitchen was informed and a rushed was put on our order. We weren't in a rush so it was fine with us. They apologized and graciously offered us a dessert after dinner. Something simple but very graceful for the honest mistake. Entrees, the wild mushrooms pasta which was quite tasty and pretty decent in size. The cream sauce which wasn't too over powering the meal was great. Each bite was very tasty. Then there was the chicken Parmesan which why we were here and expecting. The last visit it was excellent with grilled broccolini, slices of tomatoes on top and mozzarella cheese and onto spaghetti pasta. It was great. Thinking it would be the same this time which it wasn't. This visit, it was just served with squash pasta and buffalo mozzarella on top. Honestly it wasn't what I expected, somewhat of a little disappointed. Chicken was good don't get me wrong. But the hot meat with sauce and then you have literally COLD squash pasta paired with it. It was a little underwhelming. Overall, we still had a nice experience. The place was pretty full and of course the lakers were on so it was fun seeing everyone cheering them on. Bar seating for a meal was great as we had fun conversations with both Gabriel and Francisco. Plus they were cranking them drinks out one by one. Excellent in what they do. The drinks were great, grilled prawns and wild mushrooms pastas were excellent. Chicken parm, this time was a miss. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and cocktails. Also the dessert, highly recommend the Cinnabon with vanilla ice cream. Wow, it went down very well. Hoping next time will outdo this.

Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.
