Had an opportunity to try North Italia again. We have been fortunate that each time we've been here, service is great, good quality is great, food choice has been spot on. I don't blame anyone but this visit, I think we made the wrong choice. This was my son's first visit and so we decided to order two different items and split it to give him the opportunity to try at least two menu items in one visit. We ordered the Sunday Night Lasagna and the Breakfast Rosa Pizza. The food tasted delicious, but my complaint was the pizza was very spicy. I can handle spice, but this had a kick that the spiciness would hit you in the back of your throat and make you cough uncontrollably because of the spice. It was annoying, but I managed to get through it and finish my share. The other issue about the pizza is it was not cut well. I think they rushed on trying to get it served, but I could not even pull it apart. The table knife couldn't even cut through the crust. That's just poor quality control on the person prepping the item for playing and getting it sent out to the table. As for the lasagna, the meat sauce was great, but our complaint was the portion size. It was thin and small. Some lasagna's I've hade in the past would be a four to five layer thickness. This was just two layers. The bottom pasta, a little bit of meat sauce and the top layer of pasta, with a little sauce on the top and some dollops of cheese. I think my next chance I get to go back again, I should try something different and hope it's a better food experience. read more

My husband and I decided to try it here for dineLA since they had a good pre-fixed menu. We were seated right away. I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant. It had a beautiful wall art decor towards the back where we were seated. From the dineLA menu, we ordered ceasar salad and cacio e Pepe arancini for our appetizer. For our entree, we ordered the house bolognese pasta and hot honey & prosciutto pizza. And dessert, we got tiramisu and chocolate gelato. I enjoyed the ceasar salad, although it did seem like a small portion. My husband and I shared the cacio e Pepe arancini. It was delicious. Crunchy and crispy on the outside, and nice soft texture on the inside. It pairs well with the pesto sauce provided. Although, it was a little bit too salty for our liking. The hot honey & prosciutto pizza was good. It was different than what we normally eat, so it was worth a try. It had a kick to it because if the hot honey. But our favorite of the meal was the house bolognese pasta! The texture and good of the pasta was on point! The sauce.... Exceptional! I really enjoyed the tiramisu as it is my favorite. Parking on a Saturday around 10 AM is HORRENDOUS, so be prepared to park a little farther away and get your cardio in. Nothing wrong with earning those brunch calories! Now let's talk about the vibe because WOW. I'm not usually a huge Italian food girl because I find it a little too carby, but the interior and exterior here are STUNNING. Modern, chic, and honestly the exact indoor/outdoor, open-bar vibe I'd want in my own home. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose to sit outside for our girlfriend's birthday. Jumpstart -- $7.50 | 7.8/10 Coffee mixed with chocolate, and it was definitely chocolate-forward with a nice espresso kick. I only had a sip, but it was tasty! Mango Chamoy -- $15 | 6/10 Unfortunately, not my favorite. I wanted more mango liqueur flavor, and the homemade chili-salt rim was different from what I'm used to. I personally prefer Tajín, but maybe you'll love their version! Truffle Garlic Bread -- $18.50 | 8/10 Okayyyy, I see why everyone orders this! I'm a TRUFFLE GIRLY, and this definitely delivered. They went a little heavy on the butter, but the truffle and cheese topping was delish . I can absolutely see why this is a bestseller. Must try! Seasonal Burrata -- $18.50 | 7/10 Heirloom tomatoes, burrata, and bread underneath. The burrata was nice, but the bread became pretty soggy from the tomato juices. I've definitely had better, but still worth trying. Seasonal Salad + Heirloom Beets -- $21 | 8.75/10 I'm not normally a beet girl, but these were surprisingly sweet and delicious! Mixed with corn, asparagus, peas, romaine, and green goddess dressing--WOW. The dressing was fantastic . My only complaint was that some of the asparagus and peas were pretty fibrous, but overall, a winner! Trottole Chicken Pesto Pasta -- $26.50 No rating--I didn't get to try it! The birthday girl ordered it, but I guess I'll have to come back and investigate myself. Hot Honey Pizza -- $25 No rating--also didn't get a bite! But it looked delicious and is definitely on my next-time list. Roasted Salmon -- $29 | 8.8/10 THIS was my dish! Perfectly grilled/crusted salmon over basil pesto pasta with broccolini--my absolute favorite vegetable! The salmon was beautifully cooked, the crust had a great texture, and the pesto pasta was DIVINE. We had already demolished the appetizers, so I couldn't eat as much as I wanted, but I would absolutely order this again. Hazelnut Torta -- $13.50 | 8/10 Our wonderful server Cassandra surprised the birthday girl with this dessert on the house! I'm not sure what that crunchy layer was, but whatever it was... KEEP IT! Really love this place! We asked for water without ice, and the server brought it out in this beautiful cup--it instantly elevated the whole lunch experience. Been wanting to try North Italia for awhile after hearing such great things about it. Finally was able to with a few girlfriends and saw they had DineLA menu available! Perfect timing since it was the last weekend for it. We got the charcuterie board and their bolognese. The board was a perfect size for one and offered a good amount to try. Their lunch bolognese size was perfect and was definitely delicious. I loveeee red sauce I'm definitely a red sauce kinda girl and their red sauce was delicious! I'll definitely be back! I did look at their regular menu also which was pretty decently priced. Not too expensive. The place is quite clean also but this is probably one of the newer north Italia. Looks like they took over the (CPK) spot that used to be there. Anyway today was the day that we actually had a chance to try. North Italia is a popular, modern Italian restaurant. North Italia is my favorite spot for a cute lunch and/or a date night. It has a great vibe to make any occasion special. With the food, I always get the truffle bread, yellowtail carpaccio, and the scallop risotto. Though, the risotto recipe changes due to seasonal ingredients; it is the best in the business. I am a big risotto gal. The risotto also has a crunch factor on top due to crispy shallots which I love. The scallops have a great sear to it. For the service, it never disappoints. I can't remember our servers' names because they have quite the large staff. I do remember that they are all pleasant and attentive. Also, they have a great happy hour. I also enjoy a great deal for happy hour. North Italia has a great small pizza and a bottle of wine deal from this time. I have been to the North Italia in Irvine many times and I prefer the Cerritos Location. The space is open but does not feel busy. The staff is friendly and so efficient. Buuuut let's talk about the food. Every single item we tried was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They currently have a Summer Match-up menu which is only $25 and you get full size appetizer and main entree. I would have this everyday! North Italia has become one of my favorite brunch spots. The breakfast board is so addicting! I highly suggest you add the prosciutto. It is a heavenly charcuterie board meant for breakfast. The caramelized onion frittata that comes with it is fantastic. I could really eat that every day. My husband and I each got our own board and shared an order of meatballs. The meatballs are wonderful. We sat at the bar top and the staff was very friendly. We were happy and surprised to see Vicente works here. We know him from his last job and he is great. We came to North Italia today and honestly had such a good experience. I didn't catch our waitress's name, but she was seriously so sweet. Even the hostesses were super kind. Everyone was just so welcoming and attentive. It was SO hot outside today, so walking in and feeling the AC blasting was the best feeling ever lol. We ordered the spicy Italian grinder, a spicy stromboli, the kids' chicken Alfredo, and the calamari. Everything was fresh and really flavorful, but the calamari was definitely the star. It was perfectly cooked, not too crispy, not soggy, just right. Overall, it was such a solid meal, and the service made it even better. We got to sit in the patio, no wait time! The best pasta dish we had was the braised beef, amazing flavors and the meat was super tender, a must have. The cacio e Pepe was also tasty, not too much pepper but it need of more cheese. The salmon was well cooked and the kids pasta was a good portion. After going through the mall for an hour or so, my daughter was interested in trying this place for dinner...so we did. Although they were a few families waiting for a table outisde- our wait was around 10-15 min. We were super glad to get in because it was so hot out that day! Inside, buzzing with people, but spacing of tables makes it feel less crowded than it really is. We had a lovely lady help us choose a pasta dish for me and something from the kids menu for my daughter. I also got a delicious mocktail. It was Saturday night and hubby and I were thinking of what to eat for dinner. We were craving Italian since it's been a while and thought of North Italia. We are not new to North Italia as we frequent the Irvine location often, but this was our first time at the Cerritos location and what a treat it was! Located conveniently at the mall for some after shopping bites and plenty of parking around. We went online to make same-day reservations and were able to snag a time slot at 8:15pm. Upon arrival I noticed how friendly and smiley the host was. It's a pet peeve of mine when hostess act pretentious or gives off a haughty attitude but not here. Once seated, I believe our server was name Ariana. Super sweet gal with great service. We shared a glass of chianti classico- one of my faves! For appetizers, we had the yellowtail crudo and the white truffle garlic bread. The white truffle garlic bread is our tried & true, can never go wrong ordering that. The crudo was good, I love the different textures, but I did wish it had a bit more citrus flavor to balance out the oil. Our entrees were the bolognese with added meatballs and the chicken Parmesan. The bolognese is another tried and true where you cannot go wrong getting. Hubby wanted to try something new this time so he got the chicken Parmesan which surely did not disappoint. The chicken was cook to perfect. But be warned - it's a heavy dish! He could only finish half and had to take the rest home. Lastly, we finished with their seasonal butter cake which was delightful and well paired with the ice cream. All in all, it was a wonderful experience at this location. They were popping and busy for a Saturday night but never felt cramped or crowded. Vibes were immaculate. I noticed the servers being helpful, welcoming, and attentive. It's located inside the Cerritos mall and replaced what was previously CPK. The interior is well decorated and spacious with an enclosed patio seating area. There's a huge bar area with TV screens if you care to watch games there. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She provided the kids with a coloring page and crayons. She said all their pastas were freshly made, so I decided to go with the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka. It included Italian sausage, crispy pancetta, shaved garlic, torn basil, and grana padano. I'd heard good things about the El Segundo location and recently found out they opened one in Cerritos, so I took my mom there for an early Mother's Day dinner on the Saturday before Mother's Day. We didn't have reservations, so we expected a wait. The restaurant was packed, and we ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seated. We ordered the truffle garlic bread, spicy rigatoni vodka, squid ink tonnarreli and a pizza with half The Pig and half hot honey prosciutto. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - 4/5 The dish was delicious, and you could definitely tell the pasta was handmade. It wasn't spicy at all to me, but I also have a pretty high spice tolerance. I do wish it had more meat, and the portion size felt a little small. I was shocked to find out it was nearly 2,000 calories for the amount served. Squid Ink Tonnarreli - 5/5 This was probably my favorite dish of the night. It was rich, savory, and really flavorful. I'd never had squid ink pasta before, although I've had Filipino squid cooked in squid ink many times. The dish came with squid, shrimp, and a spicy tomato-based sauce. We asked for it mild, but I honestly think it would've been even better spicy. The portion size was good too. Pizza - 3/5 Since they make handmade pasta, I assumed the pizza dough would be amazing, but it was just average. Parts of the crust were a little burnt. The Pig (their all-meat pizza) was okay but slightly too salty for me. The hot honey prosciutto side was better, although they were pretty light on the toppings. I probably wouldn't order pizza here again. Truffle Garlic Bread - 4/5 Really good, but overpriced at $18.50 for 9 small square pieces. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and very buttery. Customer Service - 5/5 Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and explained the menu really well. I appreciated that she mentioned the spice levels could be adjusted on certain dishes. She also refilled my iced tea without me having to ask and even brought me a to-go cup for it. Overall, we had a good experience. The food was solid, and the service was great. However, the portions felt a bit small for the price, especially compared to similar restaurants, and I was surprised they didn't offer complimentary bread. Avengers Assemble! Went here with a couple of colleagues and the food was extremely fresh with high-quality ingredients! We had a couple of different entrées and appetizers. The dishes were extremely tasty, with some sauce and some thoughtful flavors, but definitely not over sauced or overdone. It allowed the quality of the ingredients to shine through! The balance of flavors was so perfect it honestly felt like Captain America wielding his shield and hitting all the absolute right angles with total precision tbh. Service is friendly and they checked on us with actual Spidey-sense to make sure we had everything we needed. Parking is plentiful, although it can get crowded during peak hours, as it is part of the mall. Of course, it's easy to see from the parking lot, so you don't have to go deep inside the mall. In fact you can enter from the entrance just for this restaurant, so you don't have to go inside the mall. It was super convenient,, kinda like Doctor Strange opening up a mystic portal straight to our table so we didn't have to navigate through the crowded mall masses lol. First time experiencing North Italia, and nothing mind blowing. Ambience and aesthetics 10 out of 10. Lights are dim, and candle lit tables with flowers. The restaurant itself really clean. Service was good. I don't remember our servers name but she was pretty nice. Food wasn't what we expected. We started off with the calamari which was okay, presentation was nice but taste 6/10 at most. Although the calamari looked crispy is was a bit on the soggy side. You get marinara and what I think was called Calabrian sauce. We also tried the Caesar salad which was really good the Romain lettuce was nice and crisp. Definitely worth trying. For main entrees we tried the bolognese pasta, seared scallops, and house made pizza. Bolognese pasta was decent. The seared scallops I do not recommend if you don't like fishy. We're normally huge scallops fans but this just wasn't it. Presentation was great but everything else was pretty disappointing. Now where things went wrong... my son ordered a pizza and unfortunately his food made it out once we were all done eating. I wish they would have mentioned before ordering, that pizza would take a while and we would have ordered something else instead. Now look - I've lived in Chicagoland almost 3 years and have learned to love the Italian food there. So now I had a high standard to beat! We ordered white truffle garlic bread to start- man, was it good! (Not pictured). I ordered the lasagna as it's my go-to. We waited. And waited a bit more. Then the food came out! The lasagna was pretty good- nice! Nephew 1 had the spicy rigatoni- which I of course sampled (!) - not bad at all! Nephew 2 had a dish (pictured) that I can't remember now - but it wasn't too bad really- why the 1 pt demerit? They seemed a bit disorganized, frankly. Came for lunch with the family and we all ordered off the lunch menu which was 1 plate for a 3 course meal for a total of $35 and it was so worth it. I can't wait to come back for the lunch special again. To start off my family and I shared a Hot Honey and Prosciutto pizza the hot honey gave the pizza a perfect sweet kick I highly recommend trying this pizza! Our personal appetizers then came out which we all ended up sharing so we had the Arugula and Avocado salad, Chopped Caesar Salad and the Cacio E Pepe Arancini. If you are a big Caesar salad fan like me I have found the holy grail! It was perfectly balanced and the dressing to lettuce ratio was perfect but the dressing wasn't heavy! As for the Avocado and Arugula Salad, the arugula is really the star of the show while you get a hint of everything else, the dressing is really lemony (which I love) but it's not overpowering I did feel like there was a saltiness flavor lacking from the dish. The Arancini tasted like Mac and cheese balls and when paired with the pesto aioli the pesto shines and overpowers almost. I got the Strozzapreti Pasta which tasted similar to Cacio E Pepe but with a prominent mushroom flavor. We also had the Agnolotti Al Pomodoro Pasta all I wish is that sauce did a little more to balance the flavor of the ricotta but that could've been failure to really mix the pasta when we got it. We also had an order of the Roasted Salmon, so perfect, it was light, refreshing and all the flavors were so cohesive but they also all stood out on its own. Lastly for the final course we shared a Tiramisu because by the time dessert came around we were so full! However I insisted that we all share one at the restaurant and I am so glad we did because it was the perfect ending, when it comes to my tiramisu I love when it has a crunch aspect so the little coco balls were perfect and made it go from good to great. Growing up with Italian food - nothing fancy either - has made it difficult to find restaurants worth going to and spending an entire day's paycheck on so... Did North Italia finally scratch that itch I've been having for years? Honestly? Ye. Let's get into the food. Starting with the White Truffle Garlic Bread that is plastered all over yelp. The first bite was overwhelmingly garlicky - almost like it was topped with raw garlic (it wasn't) - but the other bites were much more balanced and it was very fresh and flavorful. It is topped with a ricotta that slightly resembles butter both in taste and texture so I was not a huge fan but it was a pretty solid dish. Would I order again? Probably not, since it's $18... for bread. I love bread but times are tough and I just can't justify the pricing in my head. Next we shared: Eggplant Parmesan, Funghi Pizza, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka and Caesar Salad. This threw me off completely but the highlight of our meal was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was absolutely delicious. Crispy, fresh, well-seasoned, zero bitterness, just perfect. I am not vegetarian - I probably should be - but even as a meat-eater, this dish blew everything else out of the water. 10/10. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka was delightful. I love spicy foods so my tolerance is a little higher than most, but I was surprised at the balance of heat & flavor in this dish and I would most definitely recommend and order again. Good portion as well, was able to take some home for lunch the next day - reheats very well too! 10/10 Funghi Pizza was alright. If you're familiar with fugazetta pizza, it slightly resembled that - ton of onion. Which, for a pizza called funghi, I wasn't really expecting. I love onion but I would've preferred the mushrooms made more of a stand out. Crust was very soft and yummy. Caesar Salad was underwhelming. It had a slight vinegary taste that we weren't expecting and they were stingy with the croutons, counted 2 on my plate... sadness. Small portion was $7. 6/10. Now here is my beef - desserts. This is the 2nd time I came specifically to get dessert, and I couldn't - sold out. I made an early reservation as a kind of safeguard to guarantee I'd finally be able to try their butter cake but to no avail. Sold out for a second time! I fear I'll never be able to try it. Can you guys like... make... more of it? I understand if you're near closing that you might be out but midday? The first denial of butter cake was for my birthday as well so extra heartbreaking as we had to settle for Lazy Dog and theirs is like getting a Kia when you came for a Ferrari. I do want to mention that the service here has been phenomenal on both visits and I'll be sure to grab their names on my next visit but honestly everyone here seems super chill. Food (plus service tip) was approximately $60 per person, so definitely not a casual everyday spot - which adds to my dessert frustration. I want my butter cake! Anyway... Other than my butter cake fiasco, we had a really good time and thoroughly enjoyed everything. I'd be happy to come back but if you're out of butter cake again I'm holding the chef hostage and cutely requesting he please make me one on the spot. Love you, thank you, see you next time! Visited North Italia and it was a delicious experience! Dan was our sever, at the bar, and we were also served by an awesome bartender (didn't catch his name). Ordered the Yellowtail Crudo and the Funghi pizza. Everything was delicious and I easily could have eaten 5 plates of the Crudo as it was so delicate and decadent. For drinks, I ordered the Paradiso and Sunset Alibis, and the Paradiso was absolutely the winner here. The atmosphere is open, clean and inviting. Love the restaurants that have open doors and windows, and especially enjoyed all the real plants hanging around here. Great atmosphere, service, and food. All boxes checked here! read more

Delicioso North Italia! This restaurant was so so tasty, plus the vibes and staff were great as well. I would highly recommend making a reservation because I don't think my friends and I would have gotten in otherwise. We got the focaccia, which was so flaky and perfectly toasted on the outside and fluffy on the inside. There was a ball of garlic butter to spread on the bread and that was packed with flavor, a little went a longg way. Then my friends got the spicy rigatoni (highly recommend) and the bolognese (which was also delicious but not my favorite pasta dish in general). I got the hot honey and prosciutto pizza and that was SO tasty as well. Highly, highly recommend getting. We also got drinks: glass of sparkling rosé, glass of riesling, and a cocktail. The cocktail was strong but delicious, so their drinks seem great as well. The ambience was also great. I went with my friends but it seems like a great date night spot as well. We came for an early lunch right when they opened at 11am. Surprised to see many others waiting and eating so early as well. I had heard excellent comments about North Italia (other locations) and was excited to try it out. It's located inside the Cerritos Shopping Center and has an outside entrance as well as a mall entrance. Plenty of parking. They have a very extensive menu from lighter bites or sandwiches to heavier entrees. We decided to order two items and share. We had the meatball sliders served on freshly baked buns. A bit to bready but the meatballs were excellent. Fries were great too. The second item, spicy sausage syromboli was excellent. Thin dough and the side Bolognese dipping sauce waa excellent too. I had never heard of North Italia, but my partner loves this place, so we drove from DTLA to Cerritos. It's located inside the mall. The staff was super friendly, and even though the space is large, it still had a cute vibe and didn't feel crowded at all. Our server was so sweet and checked on us just the right amount. The food was amazing and came out very quickly. The pricing was also very reasonable for the portion sizes. read more
