Went for Father's Day with family. Food and cocktails were delicious. Had the mojito, margarita pizza and Burrata salad.

Best meal I had in La Paz. I had the duck breast and it was prepared perfectly and the sauce with it's hint of cherry was outstanding.

Sorstis gets 5 stars for service because they were kind and allowed us to dine without having a reservation. Last night was one of my last nights in La Paz so my friend and I wanted to eat somewhere nice and chose Sorstis. HUGE MISTAKE!!! Shortly after we left the restaurant we both began to become violently ILL with some kind of FOOD POISONING. It was the sickest I had ever been and it has taken 3 days to fully recover. I would think that a restaurant of this caliber and price would have top of the line cleanliness standards. Apparently I was wrong. I ordered the fish and my friend order the gnocchi, I had a glass of wine and no water so I know it wasn't bad water from the ice. If I could give this place a lower score I would. I have a very strong stomach and for me to get that sick means that the sanitary standards of this place are AWFUL. read more

Fantastic meal and ambiance! Our waiter was named Manuel and he truly made our experience special. The garden is so cute and with a live band playing mellow music in the background, the entire meal was magical! Rockefeller oysters are a must and the caprese was simple, yet delicious with an added touch of avocado. Wow, what a fantastic meal!! Everything I tried was delicious. Sea scallops, duck entree, grilled sea bass and even the pizza was delicious. My favorited was the ham aged 36 months. Delicious nutty undertones- fantastic alone or on their bruschetta. The dessert finale was also amazing. I had the flaming bomb- a chocolate covered scoop of gelato covered in fresh berries and sambuca. Very happy with my first meal here in LaPaz. read more

We had dinner here last night and we really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. There was a band playing great music and the evening was very romantic (we just celebrated our anniversary). We both ordered the rib eye steak and they were huge steaks, cooked exactly as ordered! (We're from Dallas, TX, so we know goods steaks). We bought several meals from Sorstis Restaurant 2 or 3 months ago when it was take out only. Great take out experience. Then we went back to USA before returning in Sept. to close escrow on the retirement home I was buying. Of course, we had to go to la Paz to do a tour of Isla Espiritu Santo and to enjoy its great seafood restaurants. Thank God, Sorstis is open for dining now and it did not disappoint. We had several courses but the one that stood out was it hot appetizer in sauteed local abalone Mediterranean style. it was divine and Alejandro, shift manager. was super attentive and give us its recipe! We came back to US to try it and it was just as spectacular! Shout out for his wait staff as well. Everything is good at Sorstis and you won't be disappointed. Beautiful environment as well! We had an early dinner for four here last night. All was good until the mains were served. My second bite from the vegetable side was not a vegetable at all. It turned out to be a thin, clear plastic bag that you would find in a grocery store to select your vegetables that had gotten into the saute pan. The heat caused it to shrink down into a bite sized bit of plastic. The server was called over and the plate was sent back. Minutes later I was asked if I wanted a replacement meal which I did of the same main. That plate was fine. The meal was disrupted, but we continued on to dessert. My complaint is that there was not an apology of any kind, let alone a complimentary item in an attempt to make it right. The food and ambiance was as others describe on this site. My rating discounts those positive qualities due to a lack of customer service bred from their success. I will not return to this restaurant. read more

I really wanted to like this place... it's beautiful! The service was lacking, and the employees at the omelette/ meat station were obviously not qualified to be there and I honestly felt sorry for them. There's a certain snobbery which sort of goes the ambiance, but if you are going to act like a snob, you better provide outstanding service. Not the case. Food was nice, you might get better service if you don't speak Spanish. Sorry, it had to be said. I will return because I really want to experience what others have. read more

Amazing. The maître d' meets you are the door with a warm professional greeting. Choice of inside or beautiful courtyard seating. I normally choose for the under the stars courtyard seating. On most occasions the Italian born chief stops by your table and asks if all is well. Probably one of the best first class resturant in all of Mexico. When I was last in La Paz my friends and I ate here every night. It is situated in a beautiful vintage colonial building. The deserts are to die for!!!! You will feel like you are in old Italy. The wine cellar and selections are amazing. I suggest some of the res Mexican wines. Don't miss out on this one. You will be glad that you found this wonderful resturant. read more

Sorstis has become our favorite place for a sit down meal. Along the lines of Tres Virgens, the atmosphere is similar and the prices about the same. Don't be afraid to try something out of the ordinary like the huitlacoche ravioli. Alex, the attentive waiter who helped us, said huitlacoche was known by the Aztecs (or Mayans, I can't remember which) as food of the gods although translated it looses its mysticism a bit. They made a decent gin martini too. My husband's steak was cooked just right and super flavorful. COVID seems to have required some restaurants to pare down their menu, understandably, but not here. Great selection, good ambiance, deliciously seasoned and attentive staff makes this a gem of a place. Make a reservation as I suspect once COVID lifts completely it will be needed to get in unless you're eating off hours. If you come earlier than about 4pm, some specials may still be cooking. There was a roasted suckling pig special but not done at 2pm when we sat down. Still, great other options read more

Sorstis was our go to after an unsuccessful attempt at dinner at a near by establishment. They were accommodating. The ravioli was absolutely excellent and the service was friendly. We mentioned almost under our breath that it was our anniversary and when dessert came out they had written a nice Feliz Anniversario mEssage on our plate. We had a really great time at this restaurant. We were 6 + 2 babies and as new parents we were worried that there would be too much noise, that we wouldn't have our space etc. The patio area was actually crowded and had this strange white noise (I couldn't identify the source) but we were seated inside and it was absolutely perfect. I really loved the decoration, we had great wines (the selection is good for both local and international red wines), good service although a little slow and the food was delicious. The waiters have perfected the art of avoiding eye contact. Inattentive service has been perfected here. The service is on par with the quality of the food preparation. Rarely have I dined in the same restaurant three nights in a row but the menu invites one to sample every dish as they are varied, complex and elaborate, without any repetitive formulas. It is a unique offering to enjoy the exceptional jamon iberico, not the ubiquitous prosciutto, but the leg of the "pata negra", or black tipped leg of those pigs raised only on acorns, a delicacy in Spain which is rarely available in the US, or at an exorbitant price in NYC. The charcuterie chef will carve it at your table, served with tomato garlic tartines, those delicious slices of French bread. After such an introduction, what comes next is naturally an anticipation of the best shrimp, risotto, abalone- yes, abalone, fresh, unique in the world here in Baja, and piglet, seared tuna, lasagna, seafood linguine, and anything which comes out of the grill is perfect, as the pizzas out of the wood fired oven. Their wine list smartly promotes Baja California wines, reasonably priced and promising in quality as Napa Valley Cabernets in the early 70's. Of course you have no room left for dessert. Pity, because they are worth lingering around for, slowly savoured while listening to soft jazz played by the talented band. A gem of a place in a little advertised, rightly so, paradise, not too far from our shores. And then add the attentive service, the romantic setting, the laid back atmosphere of that friendly city catering to Mexican families avoiding the touristy crowds of Cabo, oh, the prices are softer than the sand at the local Balandra beach, one of the top ten most beautiful in the world. My date and I had a very pleasant evening here. I started with the poached pear and gorgonzola salad. The salad could have used more pear, but overall the ingredients and the salad dressing went together well. My date substituted goat cheese for the gorgonzola in her salad, and I thought that was a better combination. My main course was risotto with bone marrow and octopus. I honestly didn't taste the bone marrow, but it was still an excellent dish. The octopus was cooked perfectly and the basil pesto in the dish did not overwhelm the other flavors. My date ordered the fish of the day. I don't recollect the specifics, but she enjoyed the fish and the sides. I will definitely return to this restaurant next time I'm in La Paz. read more

Oh my....the appetizer and entrée selections...so many choices that are all so tasty. Don't pass on the Caesar salad with a side of grilled shrimp. The Rib Eye or Filet are also a good option. I am going to give this restaurant a good rating because except for the main courses and a little male chauvinism from our waiter the food and service were excellent. The wine was great, the dessert was great, and the appetizers were great. The ambience of the place is very good. They have canned music which I could of done without but it was OK. Later in the evening we had a Jazz trio and they were very good although no one other than us were paying attention to them. I had the rib eye steak which was under cooked despite my telling the waiting I wanted it medium. My wife was told she should not have the dish she wanted as it would be too big for her and instead she got a shrimp dish. The problem was the sauce for the shrimp was too strong and you could not taste the shrimp at all. We will probably go back again if we are every in La Paz again, but next time I think I will just order the Pizza. Way cheaper and harder to mess it up. read more

Unbelievable find! A couple in our hotel told us they've been here multiple times and it didn't disappoint. Food, atmosphere, service all first class. We were super hungry so unfortunately we didn't take food photos. Started with an abalone and mushroom appetizer then the tuna special (I had it seared) and a triumvirate of house made sorbet. After days of being budget friendly, we decided to splurge on a nice dinner (if 65 USD can be called splurging!) What a wonderful evening it turned out to be. Live music with a flute, saxophone, keyboard and drums lightly playing gorgeous music. We had the cheese meat platter to start (wonderful selection that includes a syrupy red wine reduction for dipping fried focaccia bread) followed by lamb chops (soooo amazing!) and a very generous and perfectly cooked ribeye steak. For dessert we had the tiramisu topped with fresh fruit (which is like three desserts in one - creme brûlée, strawberry and creme and tiramisu) Everything was fabulous. We had dinner here for the second time in the last month. Both occasions the service was excellent and the food very good. We shared a mixed green salad. The dressing was not overpowering and very flavorful. I had the pork ribs which were very tender and flavorful. My husband had the lamb chops which were more like rack of lamb cut into individual pieces and a lobster tail to go with that. The lamb was ordered medium rare and came out perfect. The lobster tail was delicious. The restaurant is located off of the Malecon several blocks and is well worth the walk or cab ride. read more

More hype than flavor. Wine was excellent. Food not so much. Upon waiter's suggestion of tge best kicak dish ordered a plate with Lobster and ribs in red sauce. The sauce was completely overpowering. Could not taste the ribs nor lobster. Lobster had shell pieces in it that had to spit out. Place is always reserved to max on holidays and menu prices are much higher than most local spots so honestly had high expectations. Service average. Will not be coming back. read more

My suggestion is to put yourself in the very capable hands of Chef Alejandro and his professional staff. Daily specials are well worth the look, but you can not go wrong working from the menu. We dinned at Sorstis 3 of 4 nights, something I never do, and each night was as enjoyable as the first. Pasta, fresh fish, pizza (yes, world class pizza too) and deserts were all fresh and delicious.
