This shop is downtown and has a handsomely decorated interior. It is open for breakfast, but thankfully they offer a full menu with the lunch items as well because the breakfast menu didn't have much I'd want. The lunch menu, on the other hand, had some creative vegetarian and vegan sandwiches. Picking one of the more straightforward ones, I got sides of chickpeas and greens for a pleasantly healthy breakfast. It took a bit to make fresh, but it was worthwhile, even though I carried it a bit too far and it was starting to get soggy.

As a longtime vegan, I was genuinely excited by how many plant based options were available. I ordered This Little Piggy, a vegan, soy based Eastern Carolina style "B.B.Q." with lettuce, tomatoes, and arugula on wheat bread, and it was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. I also tried The Angus with marinated vegan "beef," tomatoes, arugula, and homemade vegan basil pesto on a baguette, and it was just as good. For a non vegan take, my husband ordered The Guido with port marinated roast beef, caramelized onions, gorgonzola, and arugula on ciabatta and loved it. Everything we tried was a hit. Bonus points for celebrating 20 years in business. Such a special Raleigh staple worth supporting.

WOW, this was one of the best meals I've EVER had! I'll come back at least once every time I visit Raleigh. I don't normally like couscous, but it was fantastic! And I loved the pesto and the burger! The chickpeas were great too! The employee was also very kind, and the restaurant was very beautiful and kitschy.

Great local spot. Fresh salads and sandwiches. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Very good sized portions for the price. Will definitely be back.

Perfect place for a coffee and a bite to eat. The owner is from southern France and I loved talking with him in French. They have everything you need for a perfect coffee, latte, cappuccino etc. If you're looking for a place to go and be transported to France, this is the place for you! I can't wait to come back here and try the food. Great place!

I clearly looked overwhelmed as I looked over the menu and when I was asked if I needed help, I told the gent behind the counter that I was on a keto diet so no bread. He offered to put together a prosciutto salad and I jumped on it. Holy smokes, this was excellent. A huge pile of thin sliced meat on to of a spinach salad tossed in a light vinaigrette dressing and mixed with roasted walnuts a bits of goat cheese. It was absolutely delicious and completely keto. Wow. Great service, a great meal, absolutely fabulous. [Review 11667 overall, 1449 of 2019.]

This place never fails. The food is so consistent. I had not eaten here for probably six months had the same thing last week and it tasted the exact same way. Delicious as always. "Little Piggy" all the way, side double couscous. All day meal. Also, my review from I think two years ago.

My favorite spot for breakfast during the week. Delicious omelettes and hot tea. Relaxing morning vibe.

They have a wide variety of sandwiches (hogies, deli style, cheesesteaks, chicken cutlets), along with burger and salad options. We opted for a cheesesteak, deli sandwich, and small salad which was the perfect amount of food for two people. My only word of caution is that the Calabrian Ceasar dressing is quite spicy, so use with caution or pick another if you don't like spicy food. The bread, meat, and toppings were all fresh and brought unique flavors that worked very well together. There was a good amount of seating both inside and outside that was clean and well kept. Be sure to check out the daily drink specials too - when we went it was $2 Tecate cans. Will definitely be back!

You can order at the counter or sit at a table and scan a QR code to order. We sat outside and did the latter option. I ordered a regular sized Dagwood. It's your choice of turkey or ham, bacon, fresh mozzarella, shredded lettuce, tomato, basil pesto, garlic aioli, & house vinaigrette on a sesame roll. I chose turkey with no garlic aioli. The online menu made it super easy to choose and/or remove ingredients. We also ordered a large order of curly fries to share too. The food came out in about 10ish minutes after ordering and an employee delivered it straight to our table. The sandwich was really good. I love pesto so it's hard to go wrong with that. My only critique was the sesame roll was a little too hard to bite for my taste. Whenever I bit into it, my sandwich kept falling apart from the other end. The true star of the meal were the curly fries. They tasted similar to the ones at Arby's. Parking was super easy to find in this area. There was an open lot not too far from Eastcut so we parked there and walked over. Overall, great place for a quick bite!

We showed up early with our 1.5 year old daughter and they were able to seat us immediately. The area felt spacious, although that could be due to the fact that it wasn't super packed inside. I ordered the short rib benedict, my husband got the chicken & waffle sandwich, and we ordered my daughter a side of the mac & cheese. What a delicious meal! The short rib was tender and flavorful, and sat on top of a biscuit (what's not to love here?!) - horseradish hollandaise was the perfect touch as the horseradish pairs nicely with the beef. The chicken & waffle sandwich was the best guilty pleasure! Waffle crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, chicken breaded and fried with a nice crunch, and a nice hot honey syrup to go alongside -- wish this had a little more heat. To our surprise, the mac & cheese side was a highlight too! It's hard to get a good mac n cheese, but this had such a rich, white cheese, slight funk flavor - delicious. Brunch at Parkside is delicious. Looking forward to trying dinner here soon.

We came in today with reasonable expectations after finding the restaurant online and seeing mostly positive reviews. We ordered several items to share as a family: broccoli cheddar soup, a French dip sandwich with green beans, and poutine fries. Unfortunately, the broccoli cheddar soup was very bland and lacked seasoning. We had a few bites and ended up leaving the rest. The French dip was the standout of the meal. While the meat itself was a bit dry, dipping it in the au jus made it the most enjoyable and edible item we ordered. The poutine fries were disappointing. They were very basic and didn't resemble what I would expect from poutine--more like prepackaged frozen fries that had been deep-fried. We didn't finish them and left most behind, though we still paid for them. Our child wouldn't eat any of the food, so we ordered the fried ravioli appetizer, hoping it would be similar to versions we've had elsewhere. Sadly, that was another letdown. Although we were told there was no breading, the texture suggested otherwise. This was the one item we did send back. I wouldn't recommend this location for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities, as much of the food appears to be made from frozen or prepackaged items. That said, our server was absolutely wonderful--the highlight of the visit. She was kind, attentive, kept our drinks refilled, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Her sweet demeanor and constant smile were honestly the reason we didn't complain more at the time. While I wouldn't return for the food, I might consider stopping by again strictly for drinks during a sporting event. Otherwise, this just wasn't the dining experience we were hoping for.
