Seems like the store owner tries to connect with his customers. I ordered "This Little Piggy," a vegan BBQ sandwich. Definitely order it again if I can. A side of Israeli couscous and chickpea salad came with it. The chickpea salad was delicious and flavorful. Didn't enjoy the couscous, which saddened me. Sosta is a great spot for coffee or lunch. I really like the honey lavender latte, which is flavorful but not too sweet, as modern lattes often are. I got the Pollobello sandwich and it's delicious with a nice amount of filling. My sides were bean salad (great) and couscous (a little bland but still good). Great bread on the sandwiches. The cafe au lait is right on, and I tried an omelet for the first time this morning. We'll start with the Service Dog stuff, but I have more to say afterwards so stick around! I walked in a little nervous, I'm always nervous. Nobody batted an eye. Nobody gave him a second glance, nobody cared. First time I've EVER had this experience in Raleigh. Here in the south, there's always issues with people thinking there are specific ways you have to live, which includes not having disabilities or aids for said disabilities. So in addition to all the issues and assumptions about service animals that exist everywhere, there's this layer of 'not proper' which makes everyone a bit more.. judgey. Maybe it's because it's not a southerner owned place, but it was a breath of fresh air. I felt comfortable, I felt I could come back whenever I wanted without being out of place or having to worry about people distracting my service dog. TO THE FOOD! I've had food from here a lot, but this is my first time into the actual place. I always got it through Order Up. It's so much more than I ever expected, I really enjoyed everything about it. Atmosphere and the music was totally my style, and despite how popular I know it is there was a really calm quiet vibe! I had always assumed it was pretty busy, but I guess you can't really know a place until you go there for yourself. My favorite thing they make is The Little Piggy, but often times they'll be out of it because it's popular. Obviously the couscous is to die for, the chickpea salad is good as well but I'm not a huge chickpea person. The bean salad (I forget the exact type) is really good- bit too much onion for me, the beans themselves are amazing though. if they're out of the piggy though I always go for the Angus! Bread is top notch and honestly all of their food is AMAZING second day too, even cold out of the fridge. My only negative with this place is they use paper thin slices of tomato, and it works for what they do but as a tomato addict I'm always missing it. Next time maybe I'll ask for extra, if I remember. It's not that big of a deal, but something I always notice. My favorite thing is that they're mostly vegetarian and vegan accessible which isn't super common in raleigh, and they make everything so well it shows that there's such a large variety you can do with meatless diets. I'm not very good at cooking anything that isn't fish, so when I'm in the mood for vegetarian meals this is my go-to. read more

The service was excellent and faster than I expected. The food was amazing and all the veggies used were crisp and fresh. We definitely ate more than we usually do. However, although we were completely stuffed we did not feel heavy. Usually we hate ourselves for overeating but this time we felt quite satisfied. Also, It's customary for me to pop some chewing gum in my mouth after I eat, but not this time. The sides that came with the sandwiches left such a good taste in my mouth that I did not want to get rid of it anytime soon. This place is very cute. It's a little dark from the outside so don't think it's closed! Go in! The coffee, food, and atmosphere are all amazing. I had the vegan sampler and was very impressed by the BBQ "chicken"the rest of the sides were also fresh and yummy. My boyfriend had the chicken sandwich and he said that it was very thin and juicy and delicious. He said he'd have to come back just for that sandwich (we are from out of town). Just ordered lunch from Sosta Cafe and found it delicious! The curry chicken salad sandwich is delightful, mild but with a wonderful, complex finish! For $7, the meal included sandwich, a generous side of something I've never had before but enjoyed AND a generous portion of white beans that was yummy! This café is a hidden gem folded into the downtown fabric, and a much needed one at that - for downtown Raleigh is short on both coffee and sandwich shops, and both are superb at this establishment. Encased as it is in the giant building towering above, it would be easy to pass by this place thinking it was just another business lunch spot. But it is much more. They serve a nice array of wonderful sandwiches, including high end ingredients like arugula, fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola. They also have excellent vegetarian and vegan options, impressive looking salads, and daily soups. The sandwiches come with two sides - a bean salad and a couscous salad - both delicious and healthy. The coffee and desserts are also great, and elegantly served. The atmosphere is urban and cosmopolitan but at the same time, as you spend time there it quickly develops a homey, comforting feel due to the steady stream of regulars who chat with the owner. And the charming French owner is a draw in his own right, friendly, generous, and like his café, at once sophisticated and unpretentious. Good news: I found a cozy cafe that is perfect for working. They are even playing an entire Cure album (followed by Brothers in Arms in its entirety)! Bad News: they serve coffee in glass mugs. We visited for breakfast. They had some pretty cool choices. If you are vegan, they do have a few cool items to chose from as well. We ordered the Leah and an omelette. It had a nice, sweet and spicy flavor to it. On the side we ordered the Israeli couscous and bean salad. Both are home made and very fresh. The bean salad was amazing. It's a very dog friendly restaurant too. Very quaint, ambiance was very different with a variety of paintings and wooden sculptures around. Coffee is fantastic (love some Illy) and the food is even better--I had the Riviera, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes with homemade (that morning) basil pesto on warm ciabatta. Sides were a couscous salad and a bean salad, I don't usually like beans but I ate all of this; lunch was filling without being heavy, not easy to do.
