Beef kimbap with side of dipping sauce
Tippy P.

There was so many food options in this foodhall, when I saw this restaurant offers gimbab I had to order it. Other items on their menu also caught my attention and the presentation of the dish was cute. The rice pots comes in a pot itself with side items and the broth to mix into the pot. There is a process to eating this meal. Order at the counter and the server will give you a pager. Once the food is ready, the pager will go off.

Shrimp scallops and scallion pancake appetizer

I have never tried a Korean Pot Rice before and was excited to try something new. Sot House is one of the New restaurants that opened in the Asia Village in Blaine, MN. I went during lunch on a weekday after maybe three or four days of them being open. It was great they took my order and gave me a buzzer for when it was ready. It took like 10 mins I think to get my food. I ordered a Sukuty Pork dish which is pork belly with bok choy onions and pot rice. I also got a shrimp, scallop and scallions pancake to share with my coworker. The pot rice was interesting as you took out the pork and vegetables and put them into a separate bowl. Then you took this soup bottle( looked like sake) and poured it into the bowl and then covered it for a few minutes. Wow was this good it was like a mix of soup and creamy rice. It was seasoned great and also came with a salad with a ginger cream dressing, sautéed onions, kimchi (spicy enough to get your attention) and pickled pear. Then you took shrimp, scallop and scallions pancake was also very tasty and came with a soy sauce with chilis. So crispy and a great start. They also had some other traditional dishes there like bim bop and a lot of other pork rice dishes and some vegetarian options also. There were more than enough tables to sit at and it was busy hit not like you felt rushed. The staff there were helpful and very nice. If you haven't gotten to Asia Village you should definitely go. There are great options for most everyone's appetite.

I think the wings come with white rice. The staff was friendly. They gave me a free plain mochi donut that was from Te'Amo. I am very particular about my Japchae, and this was delicious. I literally ate everything that was in the Japchae. The sauce was good. The fried chicken was juicy. I had sauce on the side. You can pick 2 sauces. The options were plain, soy, spicy, and danmae. Despite the sauces, I liked it plain--is that crazy of me? Anyway, I definitely will be coming back.

We've been here several times and have never been disappointed. Just a note, they are now named…read moreChingu (the signage did not reflect the name change). They are the same as the Burnsville Center location and the Maplewood location that is still under construction (as of 12/6/25). The staff is very friendly and attentive which makes it a welcoming experience. We always go for the soy garlic sauce on the KFC, it is by far our favorite. The chicken is always good sized, juicy, and the sauce blends perfectly. Just an FYI, the wings are split into two pieces, the flat and the drummie. That will count as two pieces when calculating the piece count. We have not tried any other dishes because we love the chicken so much! You can't go wrong with Korean Fried Chicken!

The complimentary side dishes were also delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Besides the cold noodles, they have a great selection of other Korean dishes and BBQ. I've also tried the jajangmyeon and bibimbap before, and both were really good. Overall, it's a solid spot for Korean food

We were visiting St. Paul for a youth sports event and went to Dong Hae 2 for dinner on a Saturday…read moreNight. They have two sections. One section is a traditional Korean BBQ and you cook your own food. The other section is where you can place orders and they cook the food for you. The Korean BBQ side was pretty packed. Dong Hae 2 is located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking. We ordered the AYCE which consists of Korean BBQ and Sushi. The cost was $45/person. They give you order sheets and you fill them out for each order. For the Sushi, we concentrated on the Salmon, Yellowtail, Escolar Sashimi (which you can order 4 at a time). For nigiri , we tried our standard Yellowtail, Salmon, Eel, Escolar. The sashimi was pretty good and the size of the pieces was generous. The sushi was okay. A little too much rice for our taste. For the Korean BBQ, we got the Kalbi, Brisket, Pork Belly, and New York Steak (1 per person). Each portion was a generous size and should be taken into account when managing your portions. The mood was very pleasant and everybody seemed to be enjoying their meals. The servers were also all very attentive.

I've always shopped at Dong Yang for groceries but have never had their food until now. The place…read moreis tucked in the back of the store, but it was definitely busy for a typical lunch time. I got the kimbap, sundubu-jjigae (spicy tofu stew with seafood), and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake). The kimbap is the best thing there is, and they also sell this to go at the register (I've had this multiple times and I think it's the best kimbap I've had). Despite being mostly veggies, the kimbap is deep in flavor and very scrumptious. The sundubu-jjigae was a hidden gem for me. I didn't think I would like tofu stew but holy clam this soup had so much umami from the seafood. The broth was not watered down at all and was full of flavor, and the seafood was plentiful and went perfectly with the rice. The only downside to this dish were the banchans, which were overall a bit underwhelming, especially the beansprouts. The seafood pancake was also just okay. It was thick and filled with seafood, but despite eating this right when it was finished cooking, it just wasn't as crispy as I would have liked (a good example of really good seafood pancake is at K-bop near the U of M). Overall, I enjoyed the food here and would definitely like to try some of their other dishes there!

Have been getting delicious Korean food from Dong Yang Deli for many years…read more The most recent visit was yesterday and I had an order of kimbap and some chapchae (took the rest of it home for a later meal). I think the prices for the dishes are reasonable priced and the food is great. The seating is a little bit limited and it's mostly self service since you find your seat after you get your food and clean up your table after you are done. Highly recommend checking out for yummy Korean food and doing some Asian grocery shopping afterwards.
