The hours are not accurate. Not open every day. Waisted my lunch break going there. Concierge at the building entrance also had no clue.

Really nice meal before the show with my vegetarian friends…read more Recently a couple of friends and I needed to grab a quick bite. I thought we were going to another place when one of my guests suggested Thaihey across the street from the fire station on Decatur. Yes, sure. It's a typical Quarter restaurant with its long gallery seating. We were seated right away. The menu appeared to be heavily vegetarian which was great for my two friends. Many will understand the limited menu options for vegetarians at most places. Wes ordered Tom Kai, Becky the Massaman Jackfruit option and I the one with short rib. It was delicious. It was warm and comforting, full of flavor and the chef made it less spicy for me. What a delight to choose a menu option that I have never had and restaurant that I have never been to. You believe that I'll return for certain. Especially for that gorgeous Mai Tai!

We got the Mule cocktail and the. Finished the meal with the Thai old fashion, which was a clever twist on the classic old fashion. The place has a nice feel and decorated modestly with a definite Thai influence from a city the owner may have been from. Our Takeaway was it's Thai with a twist, which was nice. Try Thaihey you should be pleasantly surprised.

Everything we ate was delicious. The portions were generous and full of flavor from start to finish. We started with the chargrilled oysters, and I almost ate the whole dozen by myself, but I had to leave room for the other dishes. Next, we had the crawfish beignets, which were the perfect appetizer. For our main dishes, we had the crab cakes with pasta and the Blackened Gulf Fish & Crawfish, and both delivered just as much flavor as everything before. Everything from the service to the food was on point. Definitely a place to add to your list. I'll be back for sure.

I was basically raised by Gerber-crawfish baby food and a po-boy for a bottle. With all that being said, I was not that thrilled with this establishment; it could be because we came in at 9pm and they were close to closing but we were a big group fresh from driving into NOLA from Houston and we wanted something hot and fresh. I tried some of the shrimp and crawfish bags and we had to ask for potatoes to be added, becasue it only came with one lol. Anyway, long story short the oysters and the crawfish and shrimp were warm, and not poping hot, which was disappointing and it was seasoned but not enough to make me want to come back. However, the table seemed to really enjoy it, I was hard-pressed. Lastly, I decided to try something new and it was a cool spin on a Po-boy, it was called "Shrimp Caminada - Po-Boy" I must say the bread was the best bread I've had in some time. The po-boy was different or me and I appreciated the spin, however I wouldn't get it again lol Oh! snap, I added a star because that mac n cheese was soooo good. I should've gotten that as a main dish lol. Thats is the waiter was cool, and so was the manager esp in how he was able to handle my nephew. I prolly wont be back.

Rather than pursuing a burger, I decided to try this well regarded Chinese restaurant across the street from my hotel. This review is based on one item I got for takeout: Szechuan Beef. I am never one to equate quantity with quality. I'm also not well-versed in authentic Chinese. I'm mostly familiar with American Chinese. I ordered Szechuan beef expecting a dry stir fry of beef strips tossed with dried Szechuan peppers. Instead I got a 1 quart container with a zesty, moderately spicy broth loaded with tender strips of melt-in-your-mouth beef. This was pure heaven, and was an explosion of tangy flavor. The quart could've easily served a family of 4. That would just require another side of rice. This was just outstanding! The restaurant was compact yet inviting and service was great. I placed my takeout order on site at the counter, but they have table service.

I've eaten here before and the food is decent, which makes this experience even more disappointing…read more I ordered a dish with shrimp and simply asked to substitute broccoli for the rice. When the bill arrived, I noticed I had been charged extra for the broccoli and also charged for shrimp--even though shrimp was already the protein included in the menu item I ordered. I politely questioned the charge, and the explanation I received didn't seem to match what was stated on the menu. I then asked to speak with a manager so the issue could be addressed. After quite a bit of discussion in the kitchen, the server returned, but instead of a manager coming out, I was given essentially the same explanation we had already discussed. I calmly explained why the charges didn't make sense and expressed that I was unhappy with how the situation was being handled. Unfortunately, there seemed to be little interest in resolving the concern or retaining my business. The food is fine, but my advice is to carefully review your bill before paying. Based on my experience, management does not appear particularly concerned when customers raise billing issues.

We ordered the bao and immediately noticed a sour taste after only one bite. We informed our server that we did not enjoy the dish, but it was not removed from our bill. Additionally, the chicken pho broth lacked flavor and tasted more like dirty water than a properly prepared pho broth. Service was also lacking. Throughout much of our visit, several staff members appeared to be sitting at the bar on their phones rather than actively attending to guests. The overall hospitality did not meet our expectations. To make matters worse, when paying with tap-to-pay, the gratuity screen only presented tip options of 20%, 22%, and 25%. The server held the payment tablet while we completed the transaction, creating an uncomfortable situation where customers may feel pressured to leave a substantial tip regardless of the quality of service received. Given the level of service we experienced, this left a particularly poor impression. Based on our experience with both the food quality and customer service, I would not recommend this restaurant to others looking for a place to eat while visiting the area.
