Do you believe in miracles? Barbara had donated a facial to a charity I was attending. I put all my tickets in the bag and won the facial. The atmosphere and the facial were amazing. Barbara happened to notice a spot in my ear which no one had ever noticed before. She made me promise I would have it looked at. Six months later I went to the dermatologist who took a biopsy and determined it was CANCER. I was scheduled for mohs surgery and didn't think I had anything to worry about. However, during the surgery, Dr. Evan Jones said he could not continue - the cancer had wrapped itself around the membranes of the ear and possibly the cells in the brain. He sent me to a Dr.Sammara. This wonderful doctor performed surgery the following day at Stonybrook Hospital on my ear and after recovery I went to Sloan for radiation for 6 weeks. The doctors said if Barbara had not found the cancer, I probably had UP TO 6 MONTHS TO LIVE. Today I am cancer free and can't wait for my appointment with Soul Skin Care on Friday. I very rarely post reviews, but I just had to make an exception for Barbara at Soul Skin Care. I made my appointment for a facial on a whim, and am I ever happy that I followed through on that impulse! I have never had such a thorough and relaxing facial (and I used to go to one of the best Estheticians in Manhattan). I hesitate to use the word "facial" because her services encompass so much more than what the word facial suggests. She has an array of techniques, which are custom tailored to each client. Barbara patiently explained each procedure she was using and why, and what results I could reasonably expect. She was very honest about what each would accomplish, and I really appreciated her candor. Had a fabulous facial that included , micro dermabrasion , dermaplaning , red light therapy and microcurrent , WOW! All this with a spa atmosphere and healing music. Going to Soul Skin Care has been a life changing experience for me. I went to see Barbara to use her infrared TheraSauna because of my fibromyalgia and arthritis pain. After the second appointment I was able to excercise for the first time in over a year. I felt so amazing every time I used it I decided to order my own infrared sauna. I have had the most amazing facials with Barbara. She is extremely knowledgeable explaining everything she is doing and all the products she is using.....oh and she is so so nice!
