** Don't judge this book by it's cover ** A friend of mine came in town for Thanksgiving weekend and wanted some Soul Food and she actually found this place herself from Google Maps. She had turkey wings and something and I believe the same sides as me but this plate was good! Service was friendly, the young lady that took our order was also multi tasking and doing other things as well. I'd come back and bring someone here, I'm glad she found this place.

Menu said 40oz pork chop--got a thin, crunchy sliver. Mac had no cheese, greens too salty. Big letdown, wasted my money.

I really wanted to like this place after reading so many positive reviews, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. Mac & Cheese The flavor was seasoned well, but there was barely any cheese. It was basically just macaroni with seasoning--not the creamy, cheesy dish I was expecting. Collard Greens They had a nice smoky flavor, but the saltiness was overwhelming. I literally had to mix them with the dry macaroni just to balance it out. Pork Chops This was the biggest letdown. The menu described a 40 oz pork chop, so I expected a thick, hearty cut. Instead, what I received was one of the thinnest pieces of meat I've seen in a long time--closer to the size of chicken lo mein broccoli than a real chop. On top of that, the heavy KFC-style batter made it all crunch with no substance. It felt like I was eating fried breading instead of pork. Overall I left very disappointed. For the price, I feel like I wasted my money on what should have been a comforting, hearty meal. Instead, it was salty sides, no real mac & cheese, and a pork chop that absolutely did not match what was advertised. I truly wish I could take this meal back.

The mac and cheese was gray. The pork chop was heavily breaded and appeared to be old. It had no taste. It was disgusting and I realized why it was BOGO on Uber Eats. It was a huge disappointment and a complete waste of my money. I threw all of it away. I was not about to jeopardize my health by eating clearly unsafe food.

Got here at about 630 pm. Ordered and it took about 10 minutes to get food. However they ha e a sign that says that they cook everything to order. Ordered the smother chicken wings with ppotato salad, and candy yams. The wings were over yellow rice. My only complaint is that the rice was salty. I liked that they fried the wi as first and then put the gravy on top. So the wings still had a little crunch. The potato salad had to much mayo. The corn bread was good. Just a heads up the drink selection was very limited. They didn't have water. Now this is not a sit down and a waiter comes to you table place. So........ The you lady was very nice taking the orders. The food comes out hot and the portions are large. Very small place in the hood.

The food was amazing. The atmosphere was nice and the customer service was top tier. Reminds me of Sunday dinner with the family. Took a friend who had never been and she was in heaven with the food. She was impressed and very satisfied. As you can see the portions are very nice and the prices are reasonable.

I just left, came home ready to eat. Chicken was not done, mac and cheese had no cheese, collard greens no taste, bread dry, only thing that was good was the yams. Whole plate in the trash.

The food was horrible. My daughter found a small piece in her pork chops. Mac and cheese looked and tasted disgusting....tasted like noodles with white gravy and sprinkled with a dab of cheese. I had baked turkey, I paid extra for crispy... NOT! it was soggy, tasted bland. The stuffing was burnt and disgusting as well. I spent $57 on UberEATS. I wouldn't give this food to a homeless person seriously. I'd never recommend this order. If this is Soul food I'll pass FOREVER!! Wish I had the pic I sent them with metal in the pork chops.

This location is super dope. You walk in, go to the tablet (for pick up) to check in and they text you when your order is ready. Super smooth process and user friendly. I ordered the veggie plate with Greens, Cabbage, Yams, and Cornbread Dressing and was pleased with the plate as a whole. Full Breakdown: The Cabbage was very bland so I would suggest the greens if you prefer flavor as they were very well seasoned. The yams were ideal. Well cooked. Perfectly seasoned. Not too sweet. Soul Food Perfection. I will come back for those alone. The Cornbread Dressing was perfect and the gravy just made you close your eyes and think of Sunday Dinner. There's nothing like a good dressing and this one is on point.

Not sure how long they've been there but i have for sure have been in the area for the last 6 years and kinda mad i havent tried them until today. The food and service was amazing and when i seen the price i usually get a little iffy, didnt second guess it one time and wanted to leave a tip and it was worth every bit. This place is getting a 4 from me because my cornbread was so burnt that I had to throw it away. However everything else I ordered was good! I ordered from ubereats, so I've never actually been in the restaurant. The porkchop was seasoned so great and was fried to perfection. The mac and cheese was creamy and had good flavor. The collard greens were seasoned well and weren't bitter. I also ordered a side of the saffron rice. The rice is really good, I'll give them that. However I will say I was expecting a bit more of it for the price. But overall, I will absolutely be ordering from this place again!

Ordered thru delivery service ... received brown foul smelling macaroni. How can ANY restaurant KNOWINGLY serve spoiled mac n cheese?! The food has been great every time I ordered ... but no ... can't even fathom the thought of coming back here. Opened the container and smelled the bad mac n cheese ... if it stunk when I opened the container, how could anyone there NOT SMELL IT?! EDIT: Based on your tacky response ... I SAID WTF I said and my order wasn't from the day I left this ACCURATE response. That fragile ego you came back at me with is laughable at best. I didn't order from you directly and I was never going to waste my time and come back to you to "fix" when your best was spoiled, rotten and out of date product. I got EVERY cent I paid back on BOTH orders I had delivered and I was ok with that. Since you feel the need to air your grievances since you can't do no wrong let me lay it out ... First: you can't get orders out on time and you have both drivers AND customers waiting an obscene amount of time. Second: You're barely in a test kitchen combined with other companies that seem to be more efficient and streamlined when it comes to having orders ready vs yours. Third: No one should have to EVER call you about spoiled food in the hopes of fixing the order or replacing any part of it because NO ONE should have to be subjected to the humiliation of your effort and/or service. FOURTH: As a consumer that spent MY money in YOUR test kitchen "establishment," how dare you try to make me seem as if i'm here to bad mouth your product? No sir ... your nasty lack of attention of food preparedness made that happen and quite frankly i'm not surprised your response falls in order with your food. FIFTH: Don't ever play victim when you're holding the smoking gun ... I ordered FROM YOU. And I was delivered what YOU put forth. Not my fault your raggety service and subpar attention warranted this TRUE AND ACCURATE rating. Focus on your employees recycling spoiled food and maybe you'd get AND KEEP repeat customers ...

Good stuff! Tastes like a homecooked dinner--comfort food. I got this delivered on a Sunday around lunchtime and it was very fast and easy. I got the smothered fried chicken wings, which were outstanding, with cabbage and black eyed peas. I also had greens on the side. Everything was nicely spiced and the veggie side dishes in particular stood out because they were just as tasty as the wings--couldn't stop eating them till I cleared the plate. The cornbread was quite good--I haven't had this style (like a little round cake) but it was just the right kind of crumbly and no too sweet. One really nice thing about this meal is that it felt balanced and pretty healthy--I think this is likely because of the quality of the ingredients. After I ate, I didn't feel like bloated or sluggish like I had eaten a lot of fat and sodium as I do when I sometimes get fried chicken and/or gravy. I felt good and energetic the rest of the afternoon.

I am in the Atlanta area and wanted some soul food! I tried several places that I will not name because they were trash and I want to recognize the positive . I almost gave up when I came across Soul Box and decided to give my soul food dreams one more try. Well they did not disappoint on the meal! I ordered a pork chop dinner, smothered wing dinner and Turkey wing dinner. All of them were well seasoned and had large portions for the money. The Turkey wing was so tender and the gravy over that yellow saffron rice was scrumptious. The signature drinks were good, not too sweet, refreshing and thirst quenching. If I had one complaint it would be about the cobbler. It comes in a personal pan of which mine was burnt and had hardly any peaches... it was mostly burnt crust. Even with that, I thoroughly enjoyed Soul Box! I would recommend it and I would definitely go again. read more

As a mother of four, and knowing my husband would need his separate plate/ dish, I decided on buying 4 extra sides, extra bread patties (11 year old son said it was dry and gave it a 6.5), not only was this not enough food, but it was different containers than advertised and the containers were not full. My husband stated that the smoked turkey was alright and also dry. In all we spent $60 on okay food. I'm a connoisseur of dressing and it was good , but sadly much too much salty. Unfortunately I can't say we will return. I'm a advocate for black business and their ability to recieve the chance at my dollar as any other company, but this wasn't worth $60. Maybe 35-40...but advertising one container amount and sending a smaller one is deceptive. I'm an educator and I don't play about my money and how it's spent. read more

Food here is A1, I love and am grateful that they do not use pork to cook their greens. They have all the fixings, definitely give their menu a browse and you'll find something to suit your taste. I like to order from here when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to cook or deal with dishes. Customer service here is even better than the food. They truly value your patronage here, I'll happily support any business with this mindset. Their site uses Doordash to fulfill deliveries. Unfortunately, the driver mishandled my food and didn't provide my beverage. I contacted the business and they refunded me for the inconvenience. read more

I tried Soulbox Soul Food today based off the good reviews I'd read. I was very disappointed. I ordered the baked turkey wing dinner with yellow rice, collards and black eye peas and the peach cobbler. The turkey wings and collards were not good to me at all. I even tried to doctor up the greens to avoid discarding them. I ended up throwing away the turkey wings and most of the black eye peas. The yellow rice and black eye peas were okay. The peach cobbler was okay (not bad). Wasted my almost $40 bucks on this meal. I'll look at it as a contribution to help our community restaurant. read more

I placed a delivery order through Grubhub. My food came in a brown bag stapled to prevent someone from tampering with it. Also I was very impressed with the to go container, my food was tightly secured in a 3 piece plastic plate container (food did not spill over). I ordered yellow rice, smothered fried chicken, cabbage, and mac and cheese. Umm Umm good, the yellow rice and chicken was delicious, both were very well season. The mac and cheese didn't look pretty but the taste was good. The cabbage was ok, I prefer for it to be softer. I had a little unexpected bonus with the cornbread and honey butter, very good also. The reviews were good, so we ordered the fried pork chops, a veggie plate, and a few extra sides, because we wanted to sample some other things. We were not disappointed. This was the worst service experience of my life!!!!! Nobody knows what their doing or how to accurately take orders. I waited over an hour with no apology or compensation for my time!! This is fucking take out food there's no reason to have people waiting a fucking hour then being lied to about where I am in line!!! I will never come back ! I love the entire concept of this establishment. The customer service is kind of lacked, and even when it was ready I was still waiting for it to be brought down. Update: The owner posted a question about order cancelation. I canceled the Grubhib delivery order and reorded through the Oak Street app for pick up. Now back to the review.. I just ordered the fried turkey wing platter and the smothered wing platter. My sides were macaroni and cheese, yams, greens, green beans, and saffron rice. I literally didn't like any of it, including the cornbread. The turkey was very dry. Everything else was meh. I also ordered the strawberry punch which I had to dilute with water. I ordered the peach cobbler but haven't tried it yet. I wouldn't return because the flavors aren't to my liking/what I'm used to. However soul food preparation varies so others may enjoy it read more

Everything was so good and fresh! Overall a great experience. We will be back. I don't take pictures of food, I always do videos. I tried to screenshot my video but it does the food no justice. I called to see when the order would be deliver because the time frame that I was giving it was after that, so I called about it to soul box and some lady told me she don't contrail the delivery, which I understood, so if a time was told to me and it's after that time, should I not check on it? So long story short the lady end up telling me. It to call Soul Box with that foolishness because I said if the order would be late I'm not going to shop, listen I try to support Black Biz but it's hard when the disrespect is present, I will not spend anymore money with this establishment because of that reason, it's my choice and I choose to spend money with ppl who respect the fact that we have a choice! Whew.. when I tell you I'm a picky eater when it comes to soul food but this is the best I've ever had in Atlanta. So good. Real southern food! The greens, cornbread, Mac and cheese was so delicious. And the peach cobbler smh. So good! And the food was still hot when it got to my house. I ordered via Uber eats. I also loved that they didn't use pork in the greens! Pleasantly surprised! I rarely eat soul food out because I'm from the south I feel like no one is touching my family with the food LOL but I'm glad I gave this place a try! The delivery presentation won me over! Nothing was touching that wasn't supposed to be and that a big deal with soul food! Although my baked chicken could have been cooked longer because it was not falling off the bone it was done and flavorful. The rice and gravy was delicious. The smoked Turkey wings were NEXT LEVEL!! Sorry I had to give this place 1 star. I wish I could give it zero stars. It took over an hour to get a meal; which should already be prepared since it southern food. When I called back inside to ask what was taking so long, the lady said she had orders in front me. However, their was only one I her car waiting, and they got there after I did. One page from told them that they needed to remove them from the front doors because it was not a good look for their business and that big daddy would not be happy about it, nothing was done. On the positive side, the collard greens, broccoli rice casserole, cabbage, squash medley and baked chicken were good. Overall, this was not a great experience and I will think twice before coming back to this location. However, if you ever want to try it out, I strongly recommend ordering online and setting your pick up time for 15 minutes earlier than when you plan to arrive. Spring rolls- very crispy and flaky, had the "sea floor" variety of seafood inside, flavorful 3 sauces to go with it Crab beignets- a slightly cheesy and airy beignet with a genius crab dip blend. The whole table was surprised on how good it was. Shrimp appetizer- the best "bang bang" shrimp I've had. Shrimps are very large and has a nice fruit salsa to go with. Everyone at the table loved their entrees but I can only truly speak for the ones I tried. Seafood Curry- I will NEVER eat curry anywhere else! I LOVEEEEE THIS CURRY! All the seafood is so fresh, the curry is so flavorful that I literally slurped the rest off my plate. There was also such a variety of veggies in there that were also very fresh and firm (not soggy). For the price especially, you get sooooo much and with such a thoughtful recipe. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it.
