Atlantic Salmon over Yellow Saffron Rice, Soul Mac n Cheese V, Soul Collard Greens (Cooked w Smoked Turkey) & Cornbread Cake
    Rashad M.

** Don't judge this book by it's cover ** A friend of mine came in town for Thanksgiving weekend and wanted some Soul Food and she actually found this place herself from Google Maps. She had turkey wings and something and I believe the same sides as me but this plate was good! Service was friendly, the young lady that took our order was also multi tasking and doing other things as well. I'd come back and bring someone here, I'm glad she found this place.

Menu said 40oz pork chop--got a thin, crunchy sliver. Mac had no cheese, greens too salty. Big letdown, wasted my money.

I really wanted to like this place after reading so many positive reviews, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. Mac & Cheese The flavor was seasoned well, but there was barely any cheese. It was basically just macaroni with seasoning--not the creamy, cheesy dish I was expecting. Collard Greens They had a nice smoky flavor, but the saltiness was overwhelming. I literally had to mix them with the dry macaroni just to balance it out. Pork Chops This was the biggest letdown. The menu described a 40 oz pork chop, so I expected a thick, hearty cut. Instead, what I received was one of the thinnest pieces of meat I've seen in a long time--closer to the size of chicken lo mein broccoli than a real chop. On top of that, the heavy KFC-style batter made it all crunch with no substance. It felt like I was eating fried breading instead of pork. Overall I left very disappointed. For the price, I feel like I wasted my money on what should have been a comforting, hearty meal. Instead, it was salty sides, no real mac & cheese, and a pork chop that absolutely did not match what was advertised. I truly wish I could take this meal back.

    HEAVILY BREADED PORK CHOP

The mac and cheese was gray. The pork chop was heavily breaded and appeared to be old. It had no taste. It was disgusting and I realized why it was BOGO on Uber Eats. It was a huge disappointment and a complete waste of my money. I threw all of it away. I was not about to jeopardize my health by eating clearly unsafe food.

Got here at about 630 pm. Ordered and it took about 10 minutes to get food. However they ha e a sign that says that they cook everything to order. Ordered the smother chicken wings with ppotato salad, and candy yams. The wings were over yellow rice. My only complaint is that the rice was salty. I liked that they fried the wi as first and then put the gravy on top. So the wings still had a little crunch. The potato salad had to much mayo. The corn bread was good. Just a heads up the drink selection was very limited. They didn't have water. Now this is not a sit down and a waiter comes to you table place. So........ The you lady was very nice taking the orders. The food comes out hot and the portions are large. Very small place in the hood.

The food was amazing. The atmosphere was nice and the customer service was top tier. Reminds me of Sunday dinner with the family. Took a friend who had never been and she was in heaven with the food. She was impressed and very satisfied. As you can see the portions are very nice and the prices are reasonable.

    Fried Whole Chicken Wings

I just left, came home ready to eat. Chicken was not done, mac and cheese had no cheese, collard greens no taste, bread dry, only thing that was good was the yams. Whole plate in the trash.

The food was horrible. My daughter found a small piece in her pork chops. Mac and cheese looked and tasted disgusting....tasted like noodles with white gravy and sprinkled with a dab of cheese. I had baked turkey, I paid extra for crispy... NOT! it was soggy, tasted bland. The stuffing was burnt and disgusting as well. I spent $57 on UberEATS. I wouldn't give this food to a homeless person seriously. I'd never recommend this order. If this is Soul food I'll pass FOREVER!! Wish I had the pic I sent them with metal in the pork chops.

This location is super dope. You walk in, go to the tablet (for pick up) to check in and they text you when your order is ready. Super smooth process and user friendly. I ordered the veggie plate with Greens, Cabbage, Yams, and Cornbread Dressing and was pleased with the plate as a whole. Full Breakdown: The Cabbage was very bland so I would suggest the greens if you prefer flavor as they were very well seasoned. The yams were ideal. Well cooked. Perfectly seasoned. Not too sweet. Soul Food Perfection. I will come back for those alone. The Cornbread Dressing was perfect and the gravy just made you close your eyes and think of Sunday Dinner. There's nothing like a good dressing and this one is on point.

Not sure how long they've been there but i have for sure have been in the area for the last 6 years and kinda mad i havent tried them until today. The food and service was amazing and when i seen the price i usually get a little iffy, didnt second guess it one time and wanted to leave a tip and it was worth every bit. I highly recommend this place. I will be back. Thanks again.

This place is getting a 4 from me because my cornbread was so burnt that I had to throw it away. However everything else I ordered was good! I ordered from ubereats, so I've never actually been in the restaurant. The porkchop was seasoned so great and was fried to perfection. The mac and cheese was creamy and had good flavor. The collard greens were seasoned well and weren't bitter. I also ordered a side of the saffron rice. The rice is really good, I'll give them that. However I will say I was expecting a bit more of it for the price. But overall, I will absolutely be ordering from this place again!

The oxtails were awful!! All Fat! 3 oxtail bones for $30 and all fat. Highly disappointed

Brown and spoiled ... the smell of spoiled days old spoiled food
    Kevin M.

Ordered thru delivery service ... received brown foul smelling macaroni. How can ANY restaurant KNOWINGLY serve spoiled mac n cheese?! The food has been great every time I ordered ... but no ... can't even fathom the thought of coming back here. Opened the container and smelled the bad mac n cheese ... if it stunk when I opened the container, how could anyone there NOT SMELL IT?! EDIT: Based on your tacky response ... I SAID WTF I said and my order wasn't from the day I left this ACCURATE response. That fragile ego you came back at me with is laughable at best. I didn't order from you directly and I was never going to waste my time and come back to you to "fix" when your best was spoiled, rotten and out of date product. I got EVERY cent I paid back on BOTH orders I had delivered and I was ok with that. Since you feel the need to air your grievances since you can't do no wrong let me lay it out ... First: you can't get orders out on time and you have both drivers AND customers waiting an obscene amount of time. Second: You're barely in a test kitchen combined with other companies that seem to be more efficient and streamlined when it comes to having orders ready vs yours. Third: No one should have to EVER call you about spoiled food in the hopes of fixing the order or replacing any part of it because NO ONE should have to be subjected to the humiliation of your effort and/or service. FOURTH: As a consumer that spent MY money in YOUR test kitchen "establishment," how dare you try to make me seem as if i'm here to bad mouth your product? No sir ... your nasty lack of attention of food preparedness made that happen and quite frankly i'm not surprised your response falls in order with your food. FIFTH: Don't ever play victim when you're holding the smoking gun ... I ordered FROM YOU. And I was delivered what YOU put forth. Not my fault your raggety service and subpar attention warranted this TRUE AND ACCURATE rating. Focus on your employees recycling spoiled food and maybe you'd get AND KEEP repeat customers ...

Smothered wings with sides and an extra portion of greens.

Good stuff! Tastes like a homecooked dinner--comfort food. I got this delivered on a Sunday around lunchtime and it was very fast and easy. I got the smothered fried chicken wings, which were outstanding, with cabbage and black eyed peas. I also had greens on the side. Everything was nicely spiced and the veggie side dishes in particular stood out because they were just as tasty as the wings--couldn't stop eating them till I cleared the plate. The cornbread was quite good--I haven't had this style (like a little round cake) but it was just the right kind of crumbly and no too sweet. One really nice thing about this meal is that it felt balanced and pretty healthy--I think this is likely because of the quality of the ingredients. After I ate, I didn't feel like bloated or sluggish like I had eaten a lot of fat and sodium as I do when I sometimes get fried chicken and/or gravy. I felt good and energetic the rest of the afternoon.

It came with a cornbread, a buttery biscuit, and banana pudding. I was pleasantly surprised by the other items since the ordering site only listed the entree. Best Shrimp & Grits I've had to date. The shrimp was fresh and not overcooked or rubbery. The grits were smooth. The gravy was well seasoned, but not overly salty or rich. The cornbread and bread or biscuit was good, but not extraordinary. Those were quite dense and heavy paired with the other food. I loved the banana pudding. This meal jumpstarted my banana pudding hyper fixation. Very fragrant and not too thick yet still nice and creamy. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy either. It was a good dessert to round out the meal. I hope to come here again and have an actual sit down experience. Curious to see the ambiance!

Extremely disappointing considering I love lima beans and ordered an extra 8 oz serving. Complete waste of money and not up to par at all.. In addition, the delicious cornbread dressing had a ton of small chicken bones in it. Definitely not something that I was expect or look forward to in dressing. Very disappointing. Furthermore, I will never understand why they allow homeless people to sit at each door entry and back. One page from told them that they needed to remove them from the front doors because it was not a good look for their business and that big daddy would not be happy about it, nothing was done. On the positive side, the collard greens, broccoli rice casserole, cabbage, squash medley and baked chicken were good. Overall, this was not a great experience and I will think twice before coming back to this location. However, if you ever want to try it out, I strongly recommend ordering online and setting your pick up time for 15 minutes earlier than when you plan to arrive. That way, your order will be ready or close to ready when you arrive. The chicken was alright, but I wouldn't say it was the best I ever had, let alone consider it the world's best. This joint is located in the lower hub, but I believe there's also an outside street entrance. Upon entering, we were told to sit anywhere. The interior is rather dim, and it wasn't super clean as there were still some crumbs on our table from the last people who dined there. There is also a very casual feel to the place, exemplified by the fact that food is served on styrofoam plates and paper trays. FOOD: 2-Piece Dark (Thigh & Leg) (4/5) - Chicken was nice and crispy, but nothing crazy special to me. I was expecting it to be spicier. Liked it more with the Louisiana hot sauce on the table. The chicken rests on a slab of white bread and is served with average slaw and sweet baked beans. Fried Okra (3.5/5) - First time having fried okra. Not bad, and I guess frying it eliminates the slimy texture associated with okra. SERVICE: I am not usually one to complain about service. The person who served us was sweet when we did interact, but it was so hard to get their attention to order and get the bill. But beyond that, the kitchen was noticeably SLOW. My brother and I literally only ordered one plate/portion to share since we wanted to try more places, but it took over half an hour to receive our food. They do emphasize that food is cooked to order, but I still found the wait to be baffling. TLDR// Come here or don't, but if you do, make sure you are not on a time crunch. Maybe I am just being harsh because I was expecting more from a place claiming to have the world's best.

I sat down at the bar at 9:04pm, and placed my order for the seafood gumbo, highly recommended by the hostess (who had the personality of a bumper sticker). I looked around the place. The live band was decent. Not terrible, but definitely not good enough for me to watch. Then I waited. And waited. Thankfully, I was able to doom scroll TikTok, because my food didn't arrive till 9:52pm- the place closes at 10pm! There were 4 customers at the bar (which seats 10), and one of the other patrons sitting near me clearly was annoyed that his take-out order was taking just as long. Do yourself a favor. Do NOT come here. The food itself tasted like microwaved leftovers, and was less than luke warm..... like my son's diaper 12 minutes after he pee'd in it. The bartender was nice, but even she apologized for the long wait. Yeah.... don't do it. Stay in your hotel with Lunchables and root beer.

The food was delicious at that location also. The cashier customer service here at this location is wonderful. Very thorough taking care of the customer order. I was asked did I want the gravy definitely on the dressing and the turkey wings.. The turkey wings come on a bed of rice with the choice of 2 sides dressing and Mac and cheese also the cashier asked did I want the cranberry sauce of course. I I also got the lemonade mixed with the peach punch.. Delicious food from a great place easy to get in and out the parking lot. I went here on 5/20/2025

I stopped nearby for something else, got a recommendation from a local, and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. The building has great curb appeal--fresh paint, clean signage, and a tidy appearance that pulls you in. Inside, it's a casual, counter-service setup with a clean, open dining room and a few booths around the edge. The vibe is informal and welcoming. The food is served cafeteria-style: you pick your meat and sides, and they plate it for you. While the default seems to be takeout, you're welcome to sit and eat there. I went with the baked chicken, which comes with rice and gravy and includes two sides. I picked cabbage and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was exactly what you'd hope for--cheesy, creamy, smooth, and flavorful with satisfying cheese pulls in every bite. The cabbage was cooked just right--tender but not mushy--with great seasoning. The rice and gravy had deep, balanced flavor without being too salty or heavy. In fact, nothing was oversalted, which is a rare and welcome surprise in a small spot like this. The meal also came with a small cornbread muffin that hit the spot. Dessert options included hot cobblers like apple and peach, along with a tempting variety of cake slices--all of which looked fantastic.
