Yes, it's good! Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here are the deets... Food: We went for a happy hour special which included $1 whole jerked and/or fried wings, $6 Lemon Drops, and half off apps. When I say everything was good, everything was GOOD! We had jerk and fried wings, catfish sliders, creamy garlic shrimp, lamb chops, and fried green tomatoes. Delicious. May be a bit salty for some, but was perfect for us. Service: Prompt, friendly, efficient Ambiance: Beautiful decor, clean, welcoming Note: Yes, area is sketchy, but GO ANYWAY. Totally worth it, I will return.

Soulé has great service! From the lovely cute hostess to the great , funny personality of our server Mya. One of my favorite things was the awesome music they played! Throwback R&B hits from Michael Jackson to Prince to Patty LaBelle and Jennifer Holiday.. you will be singing your heart out! It's played low enough where you can still have a great conversation. The BBQ Party Wings dipped in Hennessy was pretty good. Served in a small skillet you get'em piping hot. The seafood gumbo was good just a bit too salty. The fried catfish is their signature I think, it was good, just nothing special. Red beans & rice was tasty, but the greens were too spicy for me, I DO NOT like anything spicy. The banana pudding tasted like it came from a can, it was "ok" just not special. I heard the fried chicken was absolutely delicious, but I didn't try it. All in all, I would definitely come back and order something light, like the wings, because I definitely loved the vibe and the great service.

This rating is an average of 3 because of the inconsistency of the service, food and beverages. The ambiance is pretty swanky, laced with gold accents and modern furnishings. It's a cute spot and would be nice for a private event or birthday party. The food and non-alcoholic beverages left a lot to be desired. The consensus from our party of 8 was that the non-alcoholic beverages were overly sugary and lacked flavor. Regarding the food, our entrees were inconsistent. The best sides were the dirty rice, green beans, collard greens and the wings. We would not recommend the macaroni and cheese at all. It had lots of pepper but no cheese. In addition, lots of us ordered lamb chops, requested to be cooked medium. All the lamb chops were made well done. Even asking to be remade medium, they still came out well done. We were very disappointed. I will say that the best part of our experience is the service we received from our hostess and server Linda, which was top-tier. She was attentive, accommodating, hospitable and friendly. I would not recommend this restaurant, however I hope that they can take the feedback provided and made some necessary changes.

The sides were delicious. The lamb chops got high high praise from the table, but the chicken was quite dry, despite being dark meat. The service was good, and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful and creates a perfect vibe to eat.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. On this occasion, we didn't have reservation which I think is heavily recommended as I could see how busy this places stays. The takeouts section was booming with people picking up their food to go. We were lucky to come between the 2pm and 345pm reservation block and they happen to have a table. We were grateful for their accommodation. Our server was Linda. Very nice young lady who was attentive and could discuss the ins and outs of the menu. The menu has a range of items but catfish tugged at our hearts because it isn't something that I make that often. My husband and I both opted to get the fried catfish plate which came with two sides. I got yams and macaroni and cheese. He got the greens and macaroni and cheese. No complaints on the food at all. The catfish was plump and fried to perfection. The seasoning was just right. Yams were sweet but good. Greens were seasoned well also and very tender but not falling apart. All in all, we enjoyed our meal. Now I will say that the music is louder than all getup. Music was good but someone with sensitive ears or wanting to talk a bunch, may not be the venue for you. For dessert we grabbed the banana pudding and the warm pound cake with ice cream. Pound case was soft, dense and full of yummy butter. That dessert was delicious. Banana pudding was okay. I don't like imitation banana so that was a let down. Next time I will try the peach cobbler. The owner needs to take a bow because her staff are professional, nice and prompt with getting our food out. It was nice seeing younger young men working hard and learning good business acumen.

I came here with my bestie for happy hour offering! We very pleased with the offering once we clarified and got a different more knowledge waitstaff ! The restaurant is quite large and had a dj that night!

Decent enough! The food was good, the service at the time was not the greatest. My friend I went with had a good experience with service other times though so may have just been a one off! Good drinks

Went for happy hour April 1st 2026. Very clean, and welcoming environment. Pretty decent drink selection as well as food choices. We had the peach lemon drop and a regular lemon drop both were made to perfection. I ordered the Hennessy wings they were ok but not good enough to order again. I also had the creamy garlic shrimp and they were very heavy on the salt. My hubby had the jerk wings which he stated tasted like they were baked jerk and not grilled (the menu does not specify) but he said they were ok. We also ordered the macaroni and it lacked flavor and cheese. The waitress was nice and swapped out the macaroni and cheese for the chicken spaghetti and you could tell that it was premade and warmed in the microwave absolutely terrible. I was a bit disappointed by the food as I have heard so many good things about this place. Their drinks were amazing so I would go back for the drinks and maybe try some other menu items in hopes of better results.

This is a great soulful restaurant. The menu had so many good choices that it was difficult to finally decide. Linda was our server, and she took good care of us. Food is seasoned and cooked well. My only request is that they turn the music down a tad during brunch.

I had only been to the initial location on Chicago Ave and I'm happy to report the new Soulé location is just as good! There's ample free street parking. I absolutely love the decor, color scheme etc Greeted by the hostess who graciously made seating changes for my party and took our group photo. I had the shrimp and grits (drools), 3 friends had the catfish with sides and they loved it. Another friend had the hennesy wings and another the salmon and shrimp over mashed potatoes. The food was a 10/10! Attentive server and ample space inside as well. Didn't feel crowded at all and the music wasn't too loud either. Drinks were also reasonably priced and well made. Will definitely return.

Went here start of Chicago trip and saw mixed reviews online but love soul food so much still wanted to try. Restaurant space was super nice and inviting music was loud but was nice. Staff was friendly but there was no one working it seemed or regulars at bar it was friend time. Menu seemed good but after getting all's of catfish slider, salmon bites and fried green tomatoes. Flavors all the same. Literally same breading sauce and toppings. I think I understand why but seemed a bit lazy when different sauces could have amped up the experience. The fried catfish looked good but had some slim on it when tasting so had to peel that off but the sides of sweet potatoes, greens and Mac and cheese were good. The honey dipped fried chicken was crispy but honey dipped it just had honey topped on it. Not was I was expecting so a bit disappointed.

    Keisha J.

Yasss! That sounds like a whole vibe! Catfish and grits already set the bar, but when the sauce makes you say "OMG", you know it was next-level! And a Lemon Drop that did the job? That means it was strong, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet.

I had the pleasure of checking this place out the aesthetic is a vibe. If you're not into listening to loud music while you eat then you shouldn't go on Thursday's , any other day of the week it's a normal restaurant. The honey chicken was really good. The Mac n cheese had a good flavor but I wish it was more cheesy. I wouldn't recommend getting the asparagus as a side, it wasn't good at all. The catfish is really good and the cream corn was as well. The service was ok , had to wait a bit before the waiter came to take my order. After she came the first time she was on it so it wasn't all bad. I would go back to this place but definitely not on a Thursday!

It should be on the bottom of their menu online. It's mostly pop and lemonade. Special shout out to the homemade lemonade. It's BYOB with a cork fee which we also did. They were pretty helpful so $10 was well spent!

Are they doin done in now?

They were not doing dine in when I went on July 3rd.

Do they have a parking lot?

    No street parking is available.

Do they allow BYOB? What is the corkage fee?

Yes they allow BYOB and the corkage fee is $10.

My daughter asked to come here so we came downtown on a Friday around 7:30pm and it was pretty crowded, but by it only being two of us our wait time was less than 10 minutes. Once seated you scan the QR code to look over the menu and once decided you go to one counter to place your food order and the bar to place your drink order, they then bring your food to the table and our food came pretty quick after ordering. Bib on, gloves on, time to dig in... My daughter ordered the bag with shrimp, crab legs, corn and potatoes and I ordered lobster tails, corn and potatoes and two lemonades (lemonades were delicious!) We ordered our food with the everythang sauce (which is a mix of all their sauces) and it was really good and really flavorful. Messy is to be expected but surprisingly the food mess was manageable and did not take away from my dining experience. The amount of crab legs in my bag to me did not justify $32 and if it wasn't for the potatoes and two corns I'm sure I would of still been hungry. Seafood boils are not a cheap experience neither, our meals with the two lemonades and no alcohol was $110, so definitely not an every weekend dining option, but leaving I did see on their info board that their shrimp, crab bags are $28 Monday - Thursday and they look to have a pretty good happy hour so this might be a reason for a quicker return.
